    Hi all

Jexy I know that there is at least one Morsbags pod in Glasgow, perhaps if you go on the website and contact them they could let you have one bag! Otherwise, there are many opportunities to grab a free cloth bag, or a really cheap one in charity shops etc. Glad I had an influence on your bag usage! x

Am feeling sort of disgruntled today, no baby yet and I am fed up of being on call (tough, I knew what I was getting myself into, at least I can think that the money will pay for my Italian trip in April/May - but still feeling fed up! It gets better if I remind myself that at least I shall give a woman some well needed support.).

Here are my pleasures for the day:

1 - Cup of tea in bed courtesy of DH

2 - Long lie-in reading mags and books and just being lazy (so cold out there, not an incentive to get up!)

3 - DD cooked a nice lunch of soup and salad

4 - Managed to motivate myself enough to do 3 hours work this afternoon - should have done 4 but in this mood it is good that I even managed to get down to serious working!

5 - All washing out on the line, it might freeze overnight but hopefully tomorrow it will be dry and the wind will dry it and give it a lovely fresh smell of air-dried laundry!

6 - Planning dinner, carrot, potato and coriander soup with Poilane bread.

7 - This evening is dancing evening - not relishing the cold but everytime we go, DH and I have such fun!

Have a good evening everybody xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Evening all!

house elf - I forgot to say yesterday - thanks very much for the link to the elm project. It sounds like a great idea and I hope yours (and all the rest) thrive - I have to admit I've never seen a live elm tree. :(

JennyJewell - I still tend to use 'sheeps' as the plural of 'sheep', so watch out it doesn't become a habit! :D

jexy - the quiz was 6 rounds of questions, two points per right answer - and we lost by one... flippin'... point. I love the cow story - that's the sort of thing that never happens where I am (after all, how many cows do you get in the middle of a city?).

    My five for today:

    1) Stepped on the scales this morning and found that, despite Saturday's chilli cheese burger (which was :drool::drool:, thanks for asking, Blimus!), I've lost 2 kilos this week. :D

    2) Having got fed up with crunchy coffee, I descaled the kettles at work - cue lots of moaning about the smell of the descaler and having one kettle out of action when people wanted to use it. Some people are just never happy, are they?

    3) Managed to get to the end of the day without losing either of my new blue earrings, which show a frustrating reluctance to stay in my ears. Now I know why they were reduced in the sale, anyway. ;)

    4) Mooched down to the little independent chocolate shop about a mile from the office to buy my mum a mother's day present, only to find they're shut on Mondays. :o It was a nice walk, though.

    5) Popped into the shops on the way back to get some bananas, and managed to stay away from the locally-produced cheeses on the reduced counter. I do like a nice bit of cheese, Gromit. :D

    6) Looking forward to an early night tonight - having got home early from the quiz I was so cold all night I had trouble sleeping.

    Have a nice evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!

    Welcome new posters
Thanks house elf Bristol is a 'lush' place to live :)
savingforoz thanks for your hello way back, sorry just realised I've never said hello back, my bad :(
Megs mum well done on your 10k race

Bit of a carp day today, rubbish day at work dodging the great failure army, then sister rang to say mum is going home tomorrow as she won't look at other options. The monitoring is still in place though, so hopefully she'll be back in hospital sooner rather than later.

    My five:
    1) tea and porridge in bed courtesy dp
    2) cuddles from dd this morning
    3) a few nice telephone conversations with colleagues
    4) free networking webinar
    5) not much traffic this evening so a quick drive home

Jexygirl - You were closer than you think. I work on the Gapton Hall Ind Est and when I finally sell this house I'm moving to Gorleston :D. Sounds like you got some good bargains there

Woke up with another crick in my neck this morning so cue more wandering around the kitchen with a wheat filled bunny wrapped round my neck at 5am. I'm going to take a pillow off the bed and see if that helps.

    My latest ones:

    1) From yesterday - using vouchers and clubcard vouchers in Mr T's and getting my shopping bill down from £36 to £20

    2) NSD today

    3) Still getting lots of work done

    4) Lovely pork chop for dinner

    5) Lovely welcome home from the ducks and cockerel

    6) Making arrangements for the 10yr ex to come and visit one weekend in April ;)

    7) All washed up and everything ready for work before 7.30pm

Hope everyone had a good day. Take care

  • carolyntia/jexy - I love it when you get these 'small world' moments. I used to live in Gorleston before we moved up the coast. Had my youngest in the James Paget.
pepsimax - intrigued by the electricity monitor. I thought your usage sounded quite reasonable. How on earth does my leccy bill get so high? Must be my storage heaters.
Mrs R - I love enamel ware too but it seems to get priced quite highly at charity shops and car boots these days. I was very pleased with a recent find of 3 large bright red enamel storage jars with cork lids for £1 each. And I love my 60s/70s funky-patterned enamel saucepans too.
CCP - well done on your weight loss - despite yummy-sounding burgers! I've kicked my ownself up the bum this week as I was a bit lethargic last week and my weight started to creep back up - not letting that happen this week.

We've got a lovely fire roaring at the mo (it was so much colder today) so I'm in a lovely cosy good mood :).

Here are mine from yesterday and today:

    Sunday:
    1) Got out and did some garden tidying jobs for the first time this year.
    2) Went through some of my sisters boxes of things and pulled out a load of books for me to keep (enough to last a good few months) and some for the charity shop and I think I'll book-cross some too. I think she'd like that idea.
    3) Finally got round to ebaying some of my old clothes.
    4) Lambing Live on the BBC! I laughed when my OH said this was on - but 2 seconds in and I was hooked!
    5) Lots of good tv from the Sky+ (started watching the drama that was on last week - Five Days - so far, so good).

    Today:
    1) Woke up in a much better mood. Resolved to shrug off my bad mood of last week. This week will be happy!
    2) Weighed myself and found that I had lost 2 lbs (shame it's only 2 of the 4 lbs I put back on last week :o). This made my resolve to diet harder this week stronger too.
    3) Made a quick and easy coconut loaf (for the boys and OH - not me!!).
    4) A nice chat with the mums at sports club. DS2's little girlfriend was there after a few months away and their reunion was sooo sweet. DS2 has been chuffed all day.
    5) A lovely fire and the anticipation of some more Sky plussed tv tonight.

Jexy - Thanks, i am going to make a similar one to sell on my website when I get time!! And looks like I have to make one for ds1 as well (i am usually so careful about hiding them away but he saw that one!!! :p). Your story about the cow reminded me of when I was at school and I went back to my mates house when school finished and there was a cow at the bottom of her garden!! It really was just the most peculiar thing to see. We didnt live in the country and at the bottom of her garden backed onto the local woods but it was such a steep climb, god knows how the cow managed it!!

    Mine for today

1 The sunshine, its so nice doing all 3 school runs with the sun shinning.

2 Croissants for breakfast (ys ones of course) enjoyed by all! :T

3 This morning I made rocky road, peanut twinks and raisen and choc chip twinks. yummy! although in my house they are called nuttys world famous hobnobs!! :rotfl:

4 Thoroughly cleaned the kitchen and with the sun shining it just gleamed.

5 Roast chicken for tea as I didnt get time to cook it yesterday and looks like enough leftovers for 1 evening meal and some lunches or maybe even 2 evening meals!!! :T

Back to knitting. I am knitting a hat and scarf for a sock monkey. Taking a while probably cos its stripy and i really am not very good at knitting!! :rotfl:

    Have a good evening everyone.

Very small....hey if we find more Norfolkies we could have our own meet up in Norwich :D

I know what you mean about the diet I lost loads last year and have pretty much put it back on again. Once I've used up some stuff in the freezer I'll be back on a strict one again. I'm going to Egypt in August and don't want to be wobbling around the pool. But hey that 2lb you lost counts :j

    Lambing live sound fascinating :rotfl:

Another small world situation!! I know Gorleston well too :) My grandparents lived just outside Gorleston, moved up to a static caravan park and I had lots of holidays up there when I was little. I've not been back since they died, but have very fond memories of the beach and think that they lived near the Gapton Hall estate (is that where the MASSIVE Mr T's is?)

I've not really got any pleasures today, been in bed most of the day as I've got a tummy bug, grrr, but at least I've had a NSD and resisted the urge to log on to work and just slept and read all day whilst DD was at school.
