    5 for today!

    1) Lovely sunshine so we went out and tidied the garden. I've kept starting sticks for the stove in the playhouse over the winter but we cleared them out too. The sand in the sandpit was still frozen solid, though.

    2) Had a bit of a lie in (before the garden tidy!)

    3) Spent a while this afternoon cooking with bigger son, following a recipe from Good Housekeeping. It was just a vegetarian cottage pie but full of flavour; we had it for tea.

    4) Went swimming with the boys and my brother and sister.

    5) My school friend came round for tea and brought jam tarts and grapes with her for pudding. :-)

There's always something to sour a day though! My brother had gone to a fair amount of trouble to replace the gate down the far end of my garden. Before it was just a pallet but now its a proper gate with slats (like picket fence). But the bloomin neighbours have yanked an enormous piece of wood (looks like the roof off their old shed) behind the gate, presumably so I can't see through the slats into their garden! Although though why I would walk all the way down my garden, stare through onto their land just to admire an old shed and the septic tank, goodness only knows. :-( Aren't people odd?

Still, getting my hair cut at college tomorrow (£3.75) then getting my car back from the garage (£157....)

My DD's (17) first word in May 1993 was also sheeps when she was 8 months old. We couldn't believe it as we were driving home though the country but there the word came out as we were driving past a field of sheep. She regularly said it after that. Once she started talking she didnt stop;)
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    1. Collected all the failed deliveries from my splurge of internet shopping. V pleased with stuff from BHS, DS1 and DS2 v pleased with their new shoes and I got some face cream from Boots less than half price. Probably cost more than the savings in Diesel collecting them:eek:

Betcha thought i'd disappeared! :o Been out of contact round at DBF's all weekend.

Jexxy - Thanks for the tip! I will definately look into it, managed to get some free seeds from a friend's sister who happens to work for Amateur Gardening magazine!

Ive been out of touch for a few days so i shall just give a summary of the small pleaseures of the weekend as and when they occur to me.

1- recieving free seeds from friends sister, lovely herbs and salad stuff :T
2- leaving a birthday party just in time to get the tube home, therefore not making me miserable by having to spend 2 hours on a scary night bus!

3- Climbing up all the steps in the Monument in London, all 311 of them in a really tight spiral and you have to squeeze past people on the stairs:eek: Brilliant view at the top though and got a free certificate when we came down. :j

4- Lovely walk round the marshes with DBF and Dog. Very sunny and clear.

5- Got Three Hundred Million Pounds!! on a mug :D It's really neat, saw it in the local charity shop and i needed a new work mug! It also reminds me of how much i need to save!

6- Flat hunting with DBF and dreaming of what might be....

    7- Finding some pomegranates in Sainsbury's 2 for 2.50. I'm addicted to poms! :)

That'll do for now. Hope everyone has a good week!
