    Good afternoon everyone!

jexy - "we" in this case is the team - I have been to Wembley to watch them play before but I don't think I'll be going this time (although it's not impossible...)

Reverbe - good luck to Fulham in the replay - it looks like we might just see you at Wembley!

Megs mum - wow!! Well done on your race - that's very impressive!

    My five for today:

    1) Got two lots of washing done and out on the line to dry (or to air, at least, as it's been a bit cold for things to actually dry).

    2) Made a good start on spring cleaning the kitchen, with the cupboard doors, tiles, sink and floor all scrubbed.

    3) Washed the seed feeder that the sparrows use, as I figure they'll start needing it again soon, when the eggs start hatching. :)

    4) Had a nice chat with my mum about some short stories she's started writing, based on life in her village.

    5) Going to the pub quiz tonight, with a new earlier start time that should mean I'll get home at a decent hour (it does run on a bit sometimes!).

    Have a lovely evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!

OMG @ £5.50 a loaf... thats as much as I spend on a weeks shopping on an expensive week:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Yes, Reverbe, I know that it is very expensive, that's why I only buy Poilane bread when it is reduced, and then only as a treat (also because it is not local but imported from France). Perhaps I hit the jackpot every three or four months - it is difficult to find it reduced because it goes very quickly! In fact, that is exactly why it features in one of my pleasures!

As a rule I invest a fair amount of our family income in food, it is one of my main priorities to feed my family as well as I can afford it and also support real bread, organic veg and other products etc...Of course I appreciate it that many people cannot afford it, which is a real shame, I wish that the best quality food was affordable for everybody, especially bread. In a way I feel that by buying it I support its sale so hopefully a growing demand it might create a growing supply - a bit like how organic food used to be rare, mostly crap (wrinkled wizened produce) and extremely expensive and now some of it has become mainstream and much more affordable.

Anwyay, in answer to Jexygirl and BlimusOreilly's questions on morsbagging: if you look at this website www.morsbags.com you will find a much better explanation than I could ever give in a few words. My local pod name is "Cool Crafters Morsbags Factory".

Here are my pleasures for today:

1 - DH's heavenly porridge with chopped nuts, figs and prunes, in bed, with a cup of tea.

2 - Sun shining even if very cold.

3 - Outing with DH, went to get him some ties that were reduced to more than half price, difficult to find as they are the knitted type, feeling very lucky for the bargain!

4 - Same place where he bought the ties he persuaded me to buy a few shirts (which I desperately needed as I am very short of tops) for an incredibly reduced price. All in all we spent a fair amout of money but it is a long term investment for both of us so we are perfectly satisfied (and saved a heap of money on what would have been the full price!).

5 - Washed a very large curtain that I dragged out of a skip to make morsbags, strong brown fabric (will be good to hand to men, who seem to be intimidated by the usual flowery patterned ones that we make out of old bedding!).

6 - Online shopping at Lakeland (via Nectar to get points), had to buy a few cleaning implements and managed to get a few freebies thrown in, also thanks to a code I found on this forum.

7 - Planning Carrot and Coriander soup followed by rhubarb and apple compote with custard (my family is not complaining about my wartime recipes!)

Have a good night everybody xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Hiya, mine for today:
    1) one from yesterday, dd's joy at getting Hannah Montana gift set including musical pen(!) as a reward (dp is NOT impressed, lol)
    2) my breakfast tea and croissant
    3) dd's mini lie-in this morning, caught up on some ironing
    4) getting Boots Protect & Perfect serum, lip pencil and free No7 goodie bag today using dp's £5 Valentine's pressie plus £5 voucher - bargain!
    5) Sainsbury's dine in for £10 meal deal for tea including yummy paella. Didn't eat it all so half Bakewell tart and some cibatta bread left over, now in freezer for another meal

Well done on the run Megs Mum, that's awesome! I can now run a little way with DD, I'm about her speed, but I doubt I could even get to the end of the street, I take my (virtual) hat off to you!!

    1. The sun again, and seeing that spring really is here now :)

    2. It wasn't warm enough to have a real one, so DD and I had a picnic in the sitting room, one of my scrumptious chuck everything in salads.

    3. Exchanged some theatre tickets for a different date - the new tickets for the earlier performance are better than the original ones, DD will be so pleased yay :)

    4. The excitement on DD's face when I said she could buy herself an icecream from the van when it came down our road :)

    5. The bittersweet feeling that my baby is growing up so quickly but thankfully is staying gorgeous, both inside and out. She popped to get her own icecream (with me watching from the driveway) and her new tooth has come through already, but the baby one hasn't come out yet. I've just googled and it shouldn't be a problem so long as the baby one comes out soon...

    6. DD and I had fun planting some bulbs in the front flower bed, here's hoping they grow as they're a bit old!

    7. A little friend came over to watch Fanta$tic Mr F0x and have tea with us - DD has now watched the film 3 times since we borrowed it from the library yesterday afternoon!

    My 5 for today:

    1. The delicious smell of my bread and rolls baking. I love my breadmaker!

    2. Good session at the gym.

    3. A bright sunny spring day here in Bristol.

    4. Telephone conversation with a Mr Possible from the dating website.

    5. Watching new season NCIS that I'd recorded from earlier in the week.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

    Evening all

Megs Mum - Well done on your run. You should be proud of yourself. Great achievement :j
Jexygirl - If you were still in Coltishall I'd have been round for dinner by now. I'd also of popped into see your 'girls'. I think you're better off now though....part of the old air base has now been turned into a prison for sex offenders.

Blimus - Hi fellow Norfolky :j. There I was thinking I was the only one. The helicopters you see are going to the platforms off Hull. I fly out just south of Bacton. However on a good day I can see all the way up to Cromer and all the way down to Gorleston. I can actually see the curvature of the Norfolk coast line. It's beautiful! I also like coming into Norwich at night and seeing all the lights

    My latest ones:

    1) More sun.....I'm a sun baby
    2) Washing the bedsheets and getting them line dried. My first load this year.
    3) Lovely bath and using some of my new Soap & Glory body butter....smells gorgeous
    4) Getting some reduced stuff in Mr T's. I'm usually there at the wrong time due to work
    5) Taking my mums Mothers day present over.....she's away next weekend so she got it early. Six bottles of her favourite wine that was on offer in Makro.
    6) Lovely dinner at mums...and getting my cat cuddles while I'm there
    7) Just roast a lovely chicken for my lunch sarnies during the week
    8) Another glass of chilled wine

Hope you all had a great weekend. Take care

    Cx

    Hi all, here's mine:

    1. Been feeding mum's cats and they seem pleased to see me each day.
    2. Being invited round friends next weekend - unexpected but good.
    3. A friend not having much food money so swapping OS tips on food, giving her the value teabags I didn't like much :o and some basics biccies and some nana muffins I baked. Not much but she says she'll be ok for money next week.
    4. Realising that not having enough money for food scares me - been there to some extent when we were little - not really a pleasure but explains why I hoard food and overspend. Hopefully the realisation will help me to become more rational :o
    5. Alice in wonderland in 3D. OH wasn't overly impressed but it's just the sort of thing I love, I love the stories anyway. Not sure it will be as impressive in normal 2d though :o
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    Evening everyone,

Have managed to aggravate an old injury in my elbow so been is some pain this weekend. But enough moaning mine for the last couple of days:

    2. Free small box of chocolates from thorntons
    3. Decided to use up the contents of the freezer this week so not much spent on food shopping plus a few YS bargains from Waitrose
    4. DD helping me with the shopping as she knew I was struggling to carry things
    5. Free breakfast delivery from the milkman yesterday so had toasted hot cross buns and OJ for breakfast yesterday
    6. Walking pack in the post with a pedometer
    7. Reading my libary book yesterday as not up to doing much more
    8. I can now see Avatars :rotfl:

Megs Mum - Well done on your run

Hugs to all who need them
