    Yoohoo!
It's raining , that's a pleasure in itself. We are still so dry that any rain is most welcome.

Workety work was good...one more day to go! Finished slightly earlier again. Home with tea for 2 children and a couple of sandwiches for packed lunches. OH and I had beans on toast for tea and very nice it was too.

DD1 was dressed as a Rubiks Cube today ( as you do) an 80s themed day for school.

We did our grocery shop tonight, we went to Matthew's checkout again tonight....he is a very efficient bag packer! Lacks a little in social niceties. Here , your shopping is packed for you and checkout assistants stand for their whole shift.

First peas out the pod eaten! Very tasty!

    Have a good day !

Morningorl, with dripping hair piled on top -

    1. Another call hier matin, even better for Saturday, which is Day The First for x's new Life.

    2. Banked that cheque £££-more than covers car tax, hooray!

    3. I like Dominic Jephcott, so fondly remembered from the Beiderbecke series. Another of &'s 'voices' and instantly recognised in these:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007k1vx
    which are brilliant.

    4. Raffles, is He Who Must Never Be Obeyed listening? Day of Pear WAS indeed succeeded by Day of Nana yesterday. It happened thus: &, world-gazing from cuisine, selects nana. Takes end, pulls. Somehow, somersault occurs[yes, ask Which?] & catches, sees skin has obligingly split, but teaspoon has dislodged in act of trapeze. No safety net. &bends to floor to restore. Elbow has been reading Archimedes, employs lever+catapult combine. Banana rises, descends again, freed from skin. Lands on mat, not quite Splat! & bends to retrieve, cupboard catches sleeve. Instinctive step back, bullseye purple boot finish. No, I don't know either. Maybe Moyes wants me for silly£££?
Couldn't do it again if I tried. Laughed out loud:it was completely ridiculous, as was I.

    5. A fine, fine w8rs hier soir[as befitted Lady Day]despite lait-less Lenten Earl G . Not long 'til shut. Lass placed 12 Organic houmous [STRIKE]£1.99[/STRIKE]10p! on rtc shelf as I passed, saying 'It's too late to be putting these out now'. No:D[dropped 8 at charity house en rte back]. 4 big stone-ground Grand Mange loaves, 2 rustiques+2 levain [STRIKE]£1.79[/STRIKE]each 15p, 2 full-price carrots:p for Chicken Pie Raffles, defiant eclair rtc 28p. Young R was about to sling burst cello bag of french beans. No need for that. He agreed. Gratuit.
I had no idea of any offers, but that's how 18 items = minus£1. They know my Charity connection. All approved with smiles and reminder re:another run today.

6...nearly made it to 5, but must add timely[it transpired] arrival of bread and houmous to village friend. Son[of &squat bits of carpentry]is not in good place. Lives legally, registered, on boat, other moorers ditto, all being harrassed by nearby newbuild....old, old story, but never nice and now involving 'damage' during absence. Friend, still recovering only slowly, needed talktime. I am so glad I happened in just then, late though it was. And she LOVED the offerings. They are a mostly w8rs/organic famberley.

Feeling pants again today, courtesy of you know who. I thought I was having an observed lesson, then she surprised me 30 mins before and said no, it's tomorrow, which upset me as tomorrow they're mainly writing by themselves, so not much to observe me on (and as all teachers know, you put a LOT of work into planning a lesson you know you're being observed in, so I was a tad peeved....). However, 3/4 of the way in to teaching the lesson, I noticed that she was actually observing me after all!

No surprise that my mark was as rubbish as all the others have been, despite her comments on the form being positive. I really can't work her out :(

    Anyway, the good bits...

    1. We had fun at forest school this morning, making fires :)

    2. My littlies have asked for Phonics Kitty to come to say goodbye tomorrow on our last lesson :)

    3. I had a lovely email back from the nice tutor - by 7:15am!!

    4. Had chocolate in the staff room today.....

    5. Cuddles with DD.

    6. My favourite Latin scholar turned up to club and was nearly as thrilled by language as I am :) She worked out an etymological link between a Latin word and English and was so pleased with herself, as was I!! It was sad knowing that she may never have this opportunity again, but I will take heart from knowing that she has picked up so much in just 4/5 weeks of classes.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    1) I'm back! :j My new router turned up today and, after a bit of muttered swearing as I tried to get the ridiculously short power cable to stretch to where it needs to go, all is connected up and working. :)

    2) Promised a £5 refund for the time I was offline, which is considerably more than the proportionate cost for the time I missed.

    3) A few months ago I was cold-called by a salesperson from a wine club company I used to deal with, and persuaded by a very good offer to try them again. Yesterday my wine turned up (rather unexpectedly, as I confess I'd forgotten about it in the interim :o), and with it came a gift-boxed pair of good quality wine glasses. I don't need or want them, so I've advertised them on the company intranet, priced to sell, so that should be another bit of money in my pocket. :money:

    4) Finished the first part of the second part of my OU essay (if you see what I mean) in note form, ready to be written up over the weekend.

    5) I had planned a rare, and therefore treat-like, orange dinner for tonight (chicken nuggets, chips and beans), and was rather miffed to realise a little while ago that I'd left the chips in the fridge at work. A bit of digging through the fridge and cupboards has resulted in a promising-looking pasta bake which is currently on its way to bubbling in the oven, as a plausible alternative. :D
Back after a very long break!

    Evening everyone :hello:

Kittikins - you poor thing. I observed one of my students today (at their request!) and I felt so bad when I was feeding back as I was thinking of you. I'm afraid it wasn't their best lesson for a number of reasons, but I'm hoping that I gave the feedback in the most positive of ways. So tricky.

Thankfully, despite giving one student not so great feedback (but hopefully in a positive way) I still have some positives.

    1) NSD

    2) Chicken kiev with potatoes and peas for supper.

    3) Really helpful people on Twitter regarding a potential chocolate workshop for my class. (and me :D)

    4) Had to recycle my birthday cards from last week. :(

    5) Filling a bag for the charity shop.

Now I need to go and hide the evidence of an empty box of chocs (birthday present) in the recycling bin. :rotfl:

Argh, Kittikins, that bleddy teacher. :-(

    Pleasures for today:

    1) On the allotment by 9 and did an hour of very nasty digging, another completely untouched bit, all nettles right in front of the shed.

    2) Planted seeds for parsley, coriander, chives and sunflowers.

    3) On the path to school, met Julie who works in the language unit who smaller son speaks highly of and she told me he is fantastic and helps them with the little children. :-)

    4) Picked smaller son up at 12 for the bribery necessary for his doctor's appointment. So we both enjoyed our McDonalds. :-/

    5) Told smaller son that Julie was pleased with him and he said he liked working with the little children and he might like to be a teacher!!!

    6) Popped in to the model shop so they can mend the traction tyres on his Hornby engine.

    7) Popped in to the nursery to get some things you put seed trays in (to stop water going through on to the window sills).

    8) Saw another staff member from the language unit who also told me how lovely smaller son is!

    9) Survived the doctor's again. Not much progress for smaller son and he might need a little operation. No idea how I would manage to get him through the hospital doors let alone under anaesthetic.

    10) Tasty tea this evening.

    11) Watching a re-run of DIY SOS now.

    1. Reading everyone's pleasures and pains.
    2. Had a good day but I couldn’t get motivated because of that I am going to have to go into the office tomorrow, I had planned to work at home a couple of days but needs must, I didn’t want to go in as I need to leave at 4 for physio and I get jibes they think you cant hear on the way out if you have to leave a bit early. Ahh well just a couple more months to go and I’m free to invade the highlands. Not that I am counting the days or anything
    3. Pilates class tonight was really good, could it be I’m actually progressing.:D
    4. Feels like the healthier eating is becoming more natural work lunches are now pasta salad ad a yoghurt as a snack, and back into food planning with tomorrows stew cooking tonight as I won’t be back in time to cook, and with the freezers heaving I can’t justify a take away.:T
    5. Being in the warm when it’s chilly out there.:o

    1) leftovers for lunch
    2) treated myself to a hobby mag cos it had the sweetest owl charms free. I have already made them into earrings
    3) found some left over sarnies in the coffee room. Didnt fancy the sarnies but washed the salad garnish which i had with my afternoon cuppa
    4) having 'squandered' fiver on owl charms with free mag decided i'd best save the £1.90 bus fare and walk home. Bracing
    5) cuddles from the pups. Cant believe they'll be a year next month!

  • 1. Orange juice being given out at work this morning so a nice refreshing start to the day.
    2. I didn't eat any chocolate. This will not last long.
    3. Actually remembered to use my money off voucher in the supermarket today so we saved £4ish.
    4. Got most of the housework done this evening so fresh sheets to sleep in.
    5. Phone call to an old friend to set up a coffee date. Sometimes, it takes months to get together, as she works shifts, so it will be a real pleasure to meet up.
