Pleasures for today while it's quiet!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to pilates which was interesting.
3) Did a bit more of module B of my distance learning course.
4) Cleaned the bathroom.
5) Bigger son's suit came (via Ebay) for my sister's wedding - it's ace! It's a dark grey wool and has some orange stitch detail and grey lining with orange curlicues (sp?) I'm really pleased with it. Have emailed the seller of smaller son's suit as there is no sign of it...
6) Went to mum and dad's for lunch.
7) Picked up smaller son and it turns out he spends his lunchtimes "helping Julie" in the language nursery. Alongside the autism base and the language base, they have a special language nursery to help children catch up before they go to school. Anyway, he has been helping Julie look after the little children (he likes toddlers and babies) and he said today, "Chloe said today 'Hello, C, hello, C, play in the sandpit' and Julie and I were impressed by her progress" !!!! :-D
8) Brother came round and we had a game of bowling on the Wii.
9) Tasty tea just now.
10) Stove going nicely and I'm looking forward to Holby City later.
11) Finally bit the bullet and emailed the builder back and it looks like our new bathroom will arrive early October. :-)0 -
1. I have no idea if my teacher liked my literacy lesson that she was in the class for today, as she has made no comment either verbally or in writing on the plan. However, the children worked really hard and I enjoyed teaching it and after a little while, forgot she was in the corner. (She seemed to spend the whole hour tapping on her laptop, such dedication to her student eh?! I think neither of us can wait until Friday....)
2. One of our class told me and my teaching partner that having us in the class brightens her day, and then made us each a certificate to prove itMine is going to go up on my study wall to remind me!
3. Another girl in the class 'let slip' (i.e. she couldn't wait for it to be a surprise) that she and her mummy are going to make cake for the class on Friday to say goodbye to us, bless!
4. Mummykins got out of bed for a little while today! Now I think daddykins is coming down with the dreaded cold....but thankfully no D&V for any of us!!
5. DD has had a lovely day at home, doing a spelling test (she's like me, loves words), keyboard practice, and of course, much reading of the Hairy Portter book! Back to school tomorrow - and parents' evening for me to look forward to as well!
6. Yet another birthday....yet more yummy cake in the staffroom
7. My one friend in the village has invited me over to a girlie dinner on Thursday night. Hmm....I think it's worth seeing how much fun teaching with a hangover can beAfter all, I'll have just one lesson left to teach and a mountain of uni work to do to hand in on Monday, what can possibly go wrong?
one more....
8. Have just replied to an email from the one tutor at uni who actually appears to care, and have told her that I'm struggling and don't know what to do to make things right. Here's hoping I can arrange to see her at some point in the next couple of weeks so that I don't spend the remainder of my time on my course doubting my ability quite so much. Fingers crossed!0 -
Thanks Dig For Victory. Your kind words very much appreciated.
Will dig my heels in, head down.
Chalk paint is for painting furniture to give it a shabby chic look and no rubbing down or undercoat needed In a few years time we'll all be sanding it down again. :rotfl:

2. Second carrot cake for breakfast

Lovely posts everyone. I've enjoyed reading.
1. Home made muesli this morning with a dollop of Greek yoghurt and a ripe pear.
2. Chip Tuesday with my colleague - a slow walk to the chip shop and a natter over a small portion of chips.
3. Burning more of the garden in the stove this evening.
4. My 1p book came from Amaz0n. That was £2.81 in total.
5. Visited a former colleague after work and had a lively discussion on trashy tv, and further revelations came out about events at work years ago. Now I understand!
Have a restful evening.0 -
Kittikins - so pleased you're feeling brighter. The end is in sight for you with your horrid teacher/mentor. My students have told me they think I'm too positive about some things they teach, but as I pointed out they're STUDENTS. I always give them a development point(s) but then I always give myself a development point.
Spoke to a friend the other night and she hasn't booked the bread making course. In fact, she's gone and booked herself to go away elsewhere.Wondering whether I can go on my own...
My pleasures for the day:
1) Assembly at school this morning about World Osprey Week, particularly looking at the ospreys which are returning to Rutland Water. Absolutely fascinating. Trying to write a piece for the local paper.
2) Came home and went for a run. Well, I say run, more of a stagger quickly then crawl.
3) NSD
4) Pasta with yellow sticker pasta sauce.
5) Received a lovely card from a friend just to say she's there for me. So kind.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

CCP: What an amazing memory gift you have
1.I’ve been caught by the kindle I downloaded a lovely full free book, I then realised there’s also a book 2 which isn’t free but is cheap and good enough I’m going to download it, caught.:rotfl:
2.Working at home tomorrow, loads to do but no commute.:)
3.Popped to Mr T and picked up some yellow sticker croissants for breakfast tomorrow.
4.Picked up some yellow sticker veg which is pretty much being used up right now and the rest going into a stew tomorrow
5. Its chilly but the stars caught my eye as we were unloading from the car.0 -
As I've thought and said before, wish VickyA, was my mentor teacher, hope I'll get a kindred spirit in my final placement!
Putting the finishing touches to tomorrow's observed lesson. This Kitty's not going to give up without a fight.....0 -
Hello all
Kittikins - glad to see you more positive
DforV - sadly mum's not around any more. But she was a wise old. Bird (she'd kill me for that too
) she got it, as did I with DD. ooh cherry blossom and buds. Lovely. 1001 walks was a book I got OH years ago, and is a standing joke how many we have left
CCP, my DD is similarly memoried.
Vicky, go to the bread thing on your own, if only to spite her. There'll be others there to talk to. My inlaws have been following the Dyfi osprey project in Averdovey. Might be something for DSs Frith?
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Hmmm - yesterday evenings Facebook post went like this "drive, drive, tidy, work, drive, work, drive, drive, tea, drive, wait, drive, wait, drive, bed". So lets think of some pleasures around that.
2 watched the Voice while I did the tidy part. Who knew Ricky Wilson was so lush?
3 good chat with DS on two of the drives - he finished his mini ref course so is fully qualified mini ref (under 10) and is willing to continue cos the money is better than doing a paper round:rotfl:
4 last teaching session till September  except for my Korean work
5 second fast day of 5:2 went ok. Thanks to a vat of pottage I made last week. Can't beat a bit of peasant food
And today's.
Not much better drive, drive, clean, clean, clean, drive, bath, tea.
1 spent the day cleaning rental house to get it ready to go on the market. 9 bl00dy hours I've been cleaning today. I swear the previous owners had a massive fry up as they were moving out, threw some of the fat around the kitchen before burgering off. Disgustingly filthy. New carpet was laid too, looks fab. I'd live there.
2 listened to 6 music as I went. Loved it. I have been looking for "radio one and a half" for a while as R1 is a bit OTT and R 2 a bit "old fart" at times (sorry for those who like either). Love R4 but didn't want anything intense today
3 astonish cleaning paste which was like magic on all the gungy bits
4 lovely beef n red wine and vegetable layer bake for tea - thank god for the freezer.
5 DD hasn't got into LAmDA but has been offered their summer school "a taste of drama school", which they don't offer to everyone apparently. Yeah, but its £850 plus accommodation.:(
I ache all over so am in my bed. Night allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I just knew there would be a hint of drama to your tale BoP
DFV the boys will need go to Preston for their cookery class
Frith I did smile at smaller son's approval of his young 'charge'. I remember you were disappointed not to have caught Earth Hour last year, and I'm sure you've seen the adverts but it's this Saturday, 29th. Same night as the clocks go forward.
1. suitcase full of clothes washed and dried
2. sat next door for a couple of hours to wait for carpenter while neighbour was at work - he turned up just as she got home. Typical!
3. packed up a parcel to post to DS and family - I took it with me at the weekend but we went to Preston in my friends car and it was in my boot outside her house in Haworth
4. my garden is full of daffodils, some in bloom, some yet to open. It looks likes the yellow thing has landed in my back garden
5. slept like a log in my own bed last night. Will be sharing it with muttley so not quite so much room for me tonight. How does a small dog need so much space?
Sweet dreams0
