That's more of what I wanted to hear, KK. Have a lovely last day with the children.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0

Briefly as it's been a long day
1. Phone call from DB, apparently we've bought DM a vacuum cleaner for Mothering Sunday. I had planned a nice bunch of flowers...
2. Gardening between showers, luckily did all I had to before the snow
3. Left over Chinese for dinner. Yum
4. Mentoring afternoon/evening, 3 in a row. Tiring for them and me but all are progressing well
5. Reading kittikins positive chat with the Head, you deserve no less after the stressful time you've had
Sweet dreams0 -
3. I had a lovely chat with the head teacher at my school this afternoon. She said a lot of the things that you lovely people here can also see - that I have a lot of positives to offer a school. She's going to give me some support, has made note of some of the things I said re: you know who, and apologised for the school having failed me! She also wants me to continue to put her as a referee for teaching jobs and says that once I crack the issues that are holding me back, I will be a very good teacher. What a nice woman. When (if) I make it as a qualified teacher, I'd love to work for her.
I must admit I've been thinking that for a while - there seemed no other reason why someone who has previously appeared to have a natural talent for teaching should suddenly be struggling so much. I hope things go better now everyone's agreed on what needs to be done.
1) Woke up early to the sound of rain hammering against my windows, and was very pleased that I had a day off and therefore no need to get up and go out in it!
2) A visit from my LL, and he is going to try to get the decorators to come and look at repairing the leak damage in my flat within the next couple of weeks. :j He also agreed that my living room carpet needs replacing (it's so worn that it's just hessian backing in places, with no actual carpet left), and is going to 'think about' doing so. :j:j (As he's lost three tenants this week that's probably about as much as I could hope for, tbh. :undecided)
3) Had a bit of a spendy day: I had to order a new water bowl for Isis, as I dropped and broke hers last night (), then went and ordered some posh soap for the bathroom (one of my few little luxuries) and got some RTC scented candles as well.
4) 800 words of essay done (out of 2000). I could have done more, but I got bored.
5) I'm going to complete my spendy day with takeaway pizza for dinner, using a BOGOF code they've sent me so there will be plenty of LOs for the weekend. :drool:Back after a very long break!0 -

Good evening all
Ah, the end of a long week. Thank goodness. One of my poor students had a big old wobble during their observation by the visiting uni tutor. Didn't help that the student was feeling pretty ill anyway. However, hopefully I've given him pointers to get him back on track as he is a good student.
So, my pleasures:
1) Discovered these free walks online. Download and off you go!
2) Visited Mr T's this evening. It was packed. Last time I saw it that busy it was in the run up to Christmas!
3) Vouchers used in Mr T's. They wouldn't scan initially and the snotty woman (definitely not a lady) on the check out said "Have you *actually* bought these items as the coupons aren't scanning". Er, yes I have thank you!
4) Went for a jog. I would say run, but it definitely wasn't that.
5) Received a lovely present from a boy in my class who was leaving today. Gorgeous smelly bath bubbles and a pretty bracelet. So very, very lucky. I'm only doing my job.
Night all. Just finishing watching Gogglebox.Guilty pleasure

Happy birthday, MHags!
Tough day today. Bigger son was ill and had a rare day off school. I had been looking forward to going to the mother's day lunch at smaller son's school so got there at 12. The queue was mad, I was still in the porch at 12.20. So I left the queue and walked right round the school to his base where he had been waiting and waiting. So he started crying because he didn't know where I had been and we ended up eating our dinners in a cloakroom as he wouldn't go in the hall....
...then he said he was not staying until 3.15 but was leaving with me! I took me and 5/6 members of staff over an hour to persuade him otherwise. I would leave by one door and he would pop out through another and follow me. :-/
Anyway, pleasures for today!
1) Glad to get up after a terrible sleep. :-(
2) Next door's chimney has been rebuilt and is no longer hanging by a thread.
3) The mother's day lunch was nice, if eaten under duress!
4) Smaller son's suit (for my sister's wedding) came via Ebay and he loves it! He says, after the wedding, he's going to wear it every day.
5) Watching Robert Plant on BBC4. My only claim to fame is that I (nearly) ran him over. He stepped out in front of my car! I've also had a chat with him a couple of times (pretending I didn't know who he was) as he lives locally.0 -
Happy Birthday mhagster xx:)
1. Your lovely messages on here xx
2. I got through my last day at school without lamping my teacher or crying over the children!
3. Lovely cards, presents and hugs from the children.
4. My end of placement report was nicely written, especially given the circumstances! It's positive and talks about support rather than 'she's rubbish' (My teacher had been in and out of the Head's office a lot over the past few days, so I think H's influence is in there....good!)
5. The children performed their play/songs again to rapturous applause
6. They liked their little present from me.
7. We spent the afternoon in the ICT suite looking at French games/vocab on the Beeeb's website. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of children who wrote lots of words down on paper to show me
8. I've managed to make a hairdressing appointment with my lovely, and very busy, hairdresser. Hooray!
9. Despite being in more pain with my stupid leg than I have had in a very long time,I'm feeling quite relaxed tonight! I'm in bed waiting to be able to take another couple of painkillers, and just luxuriating in the fact I don't have to see you know who ever again if I don't want to
10. Although....I am hoping to go back to school next Thursday for the final performance at the open evening with parents.
11. Feeling quietly proud of myself, as this time last week, I would have done nearly anything to get out of having to spend another week at school - but it's Friday, I've done it, I've kept my cool (i.e. not got angry, crying is a different matter....), and I've got less work to do for uni this weekend than I anticipated, as thankfully they've pushed back some of the handing in dates. Yippee!!
