    1. I'm listening to it now, mcc. I love some of his music so deeply it pains me to stop listening....but I've moved onto a Billy Connolly youtube tribute to him, definitely raw but funny and warm:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux_QhYc4oy4

    2. The fluke connection established with NBS's biographer, via my wonderful auction buy, has been extraordinary for my knowledge, illuminating for her work. I love the works. She thinks the paintings and poems were done for Mickie Jacobs, to impress, slightly woo. But in her own book we found a diary ref. to what must be these very works, lost until now. Biog's highly readable. I wrote a while back that I have given my permission for her coda in the reissue to cover this find. Nancy's voice was entirely part of my NZ childhood/family listening on The Wireless. Biographer told me that her audiences down under emphasised this over and again on her tour last year. She kindly gave me 5 NBS titles to read. Knowledge of her life makes them totally other than 'word on page'.

    3. hwb awaits. Maybe I'll get warm today.

    4. A wrong righted, AT LAST! Official vindication 8 years on. Goodwill to follow.

    5. 1st pic of new little Lara Melissa arrived. An absolute sweetheart. Really a pretty baby.

    5. Enjoyed munching as many slices of red and yellow peppers as actually went into slow cooker with recent creation. Think I'll do another one, bring it to byes.

kk - the only 3mins you need care about is my boiled egg. I rather think googy-eggs and soldiers might feel nice for you and dd this weekend at some point. What say you?
    Now look:
Your lessons ARE good lessons. Both children and appreciative parents have told you so. They will remember you for this. You are becoming that most precious quotable memory: 'I've always remembered kk. She was wonderful with us. Got me reading, which I used to hate. My love of languages started with her French Club/Latin Club. Our science classes were always brilliant, hands-on. We realised the why and how of things. Marvellous musician too....how did that song go, the one we loved doing in a round? We were so lucky to have her, a really creative teacher of all the talents and that helped us to find ours, made us want to learn.'
    THIS IS YOU, KITTIKINS.

    &, you are so lovely :) x

Still panicking over those 5 flipping lessons.......tomorrow is another day. Have had the evening off worrying, and have cuddled DD, watched a film and had a glass of wine. My panic levels rose a lot this afternoon, so I had to step away from the 'puter :(

    Anyway, pleasures...

    1. NSD

    2. NPD

    3. Sat in the garden for a little while and read a bit of the paper

    4. Have found all kinds of fascinating things on t'internet about teaching English (this week's panic ;) ). Hopefully some of them will make sense tomorrow!

    5. DD and daddykins took our dog out to an agility club, and he loved it, as did they. I think they want to make it a regular thing :)

Sunday evening here, starting to cool down...I've even got my boots on!

We are just in form visiting our 94 year old next door neighbour, who is in hospital just now. He's quite poorly but still has a wicked sense of humour, so we spent an hour laughing which is always good, whatever your age.
I popped in to let his daughters know we'd been to see him and came away with a lemon off the tree!

Work was workety! Passed quick enough as we were busy. We've another new girl starting tomorrow so I'm looking forward to meeting her.

Nice drive to work, OH got the train to come and get me and then we went out for a late lunch.

I have decided to try and cut out sugar ...will see how long it lasts but it is not doing me any favours. I went through a pile of clothes that are a size too small...they have another 6 month respite and if they don't fit by the time spring/ summer rolls around again they are for the op shop. I really like them hence why I've kept them but not much point if they don't fit!
I took a bag of clothes I don't wear / do not flatter in the slightest to the op shop yesterday .

    Mandarin tree is planted.

Right...procrastination does not iron school uniforms does it?
    Have a lovely Sunday :)

Goondess kk change every 3 minutes? Is this due to the oft quoted children's shortened attention span? When i watch them on the computer games or watching films i see no evidence if this! I tell my students to include 3-5 points per lecture (which typically last 1, 1.5 or 2 hours). Now yes these are higher education but honestly if i changed things every 3 minutes i'd exhaust rhem and exhaust myself. That said, perhaps fain interest and ask for the research evidence from the literature?

    2. Chocolate fudge brownies. DD had 2 pieces ..DS had 3..DD took 2 home..I ate 2..OH had 1..but theres only 1 piece left...Ds have the other piece? Its phenominally chocolatey..:D
    3. HM sourdough rolls:D Nomnomnom:)
    4. DD's birthday friday :) and she'll be 25 :) we were discussing how old we feel inside. She says she feels 21! I said about 17:) Must have been a good day!
    5. Had a bit of a moment this morning. One of the kitties is poorly and its in the kitchen keeping warm. Which means I had to move everything. Nothing is in the right place. I couldn't find a pen, and my notebook wasn't in its place. Had a bit of a meltdown. OCD much as DS would say. The pleasure is I just had a lovely cup of coffee..told the cat I loved him, and decided to move things even more so they have new places :)

  • putah playing up again (I spoke too soon) and have picked up some gastric bug/gastroenteritis/food poisoning so have been poorly last 2 days. Feeling a bit better today - however ...

DS has had his first accident in car :( He parked whilst his friend went into shop, then when he reversed to drive out of parking bay and he knocked over a motorbike parked behind him - he said didn't see it in his mirrors or out the back window as it was lower than his line of sight - not trying to excuse what happened just explain - bike driver came over and was ok and they swapped details. DS phoned insurance who said that as DS has not damaged his own car he will not have to pay an excess .....and they will tell DS how much other party is claiming and DS then has the option to repay his insurance company so he will not lose any no claims.
Hoping it will not put up his premium :( (already £2141 !)

    have managed some pleasures:

    1. NSD
    2. NPD
    3. DS washed kitchen floor for me
    4. managed some breakfast today - toasted fruit loaf
    5. DS off all day specials training so am relaxing on the sofa (again!!)

    Hugs to all x

Greetings from a cafe somewhere near LAMDA. Yep, another audition.

LFS - can I have the last piece please? :D
KK - every three minutes  goodness, what good will that do them?

    Pleasures for yesterday

1 DD dressed as the Green Goblin for comicon :rotfl: OH and I took her to NEC, well we couldn't let her go on public transport dressed like that :p. spent a happy half hour whilst we waited for her friends watching all the [STRIKE]nut[/STRIKE] er the lovely dressed up people. Seriously, it all looked great. Fun
2 went to local NT house for lunch where they let me have a child's portion of veggie shepherds pie. Yum
3 OH and I went for walk across the fields for five miles. Got soaked but enjoyed it. Only another 976 walks in his 1001 walks of GB to do :rotfl:
4 went to another close by NT for look round and afternoon tea, well earned. And dried out a bit before picking up DD
5 bought lovely bread and bits from posh deli for tea, so no cooking and little washing up. Gorge.

So, we were up and on the early train. Audition is at 12.30. Will we be out in time to see a show? And will tickets be cheap enough to justify.

    Have nice days all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • I have excelled I thinks and I know I has.

Auditions, Putahs up in smoke, Visits. KJK At 'em lass. Minds me of Mums BoP Easter 1956 Married, on return, call to heads office! 'You'll leave at the end of Term Ms Maiden name!' She made Deputy Headmistress!!!!

5 Chicken pie, home made with real ruff crust pastry, currently ovened. Yummy soon. Pastry was finely rubbed with my own hands, none opf that just roll off muck

4 And home made, new recipe, Chocolate Sponge! Will be served with the usual Lumpy Custard

3 People so stop me in the street and enquire as to why I can make the freshest lumpy custard. You just has hands!

Raffles correctly smellspells YUM on top.

kk - catch the waft yet? No stressing, just your usual sound lesson plans - for English too, one of your great loves, as so well articulated by mcc. Kick any Frogsnake 'you don't do it MY way' fears re:la semaine prochaine over to Raffles. He knows EXACTLY what to do with them.

Next, rôle-change with vjmdd in one of her best teen agony drama queen auditions and steamroll the panel with your brilliance. [and Good Luck to dd, vjm. Hope she has a good feeling about it afterwards]

'Every 3 minutes' is like a Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy answer to the Universe and Everything. How utterly ludicrous! - piece-rate per factoid indeed!
