    1. The sunshine :)

    2. Getting all the washing done and nearly dried - 3 beds and lots of clothes :)

    3. DD and I icing the fairy cakes and surprising all the little girls and the teacher at the dance class. The cakes were a resounding success and it was only after they'd all been appreciated and scoffed, that I let slip that they weren't "traditional". I think I'll be making more for DD's party now I know that they pass the 5 year old scrutiny.

    4. "Treated" if that's the right word.......DD to a Happy Me!l at Mac's this evening, fishfingers and chips (we're not big fans of MD's, I'm veggie and she's pescetarian so there's not a huge amount to lure us in y'see). She was happy and has a funny pair of penguin binoculars now.

    5. DD also grabbed the hoover off me and has done a very good job in the kitchen and sitting room. Yay :) Wonder when she'll be tall enough to see over the ironing board, lol.

    6. Have made a good start to my next savings fund as the other theatre ticket reimbursement came through from the other friend.

    7. I'm going out tonight!! I so rarely leave the house after dark that this is a big pleasure :)

Not posted on here for a long time, but feel like I should be counting my blessings.
    1. wall to wall sunshine
    2. Watching the little birds in my garden busy gathering nesting material.
    3. My Mum getting better news than expected from Dr visit.
    4. Hearing that a local day care centre for the elderly that was forced to close last week may be re opened.
5.Picking and eating our first purple sprouting brocolli.
Away with the fairies.... Back soon

    Hi everyone,
1,Another lovely day, washing dried outside and now on airer smelling nice and fresh.
2,Nearly bought a couple of items on ebay last night but decided to sleep on it and changed my mind.;)
3,Did buy an electric energy moniter earlier in the week for £10 off ebay, but it should pay for itself if I can save some leccy. Can't wait for it to come back.
4,Back to leccy again,I've switched suppliers for the 1st time in years(thanks to mse)and my new supply starts from tomorrow, seems a better deal.
5,Seeing the st davids day school photo's in my local paper of dgd 7 and dgs 6 and 4 all dressed up in their outfits.
 Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and long may this weather last.
  • Hi all - glad to see everyone is chock-a-block with pleasures and blessings.
    Here are mine:
    1) The sunshine
    2) Learning a fun Spanish song with the boys. And marvelling at how their pronounciation is. I always feel really silly speaking in another language but not as bad as DH - he puts on a strange gravelly Antonio Banderas voice when he speaks Spanish:rotfl:
    3) Hearing all about my sister and her Dh's plan for a road trip to Scotland. My dbil has just been diagnosed with having MS so I'm wishing every pleasure and blessing for them.
    4) Fish n chips for tea between Beavers and Scouts.
    5) Some good whoopsies from the supermarket.

Hope everyone has a fab weekend. :T

I have to say that I'm just blown away with the lovely welcome THANK YOU!!

    Lovely day again so.....

    1. Did another wash & got it lined dry (smells fab!)
    2. Bought a book for £1 in a charity shop as I'm on holiday next week & am aiming for a bit of me time :o
    3. Loving watching blue tits working so hard coming & going to nesting box.
    4. Actually had time to plant my sweet peas, although I'm wondering if it's a bit too late??
    5. Did the first bit of gardening whilst the sun was out. Was about to chuck out a decorative sun hanging from the fence as the frost has got to it. For some reason I turned it round & saw absolutely loads of lady birds in the hole at the back. Not sure if they are dead or alive, but placed it back were it was.:)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend :j
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)

    Hi all

CCP, I am not the right person to say go to Tesco or go to Waitrose, as I try to avoid all supermarkets as far as possible (am rabidly anti-supermarket and trying mostly to buy local, use organic veg box and supporting my local milkman), but I think you might want to consider what the pros and cons are - the cheap price of food we pay in some supermarkets is not the real cost, because it does not take into account a lot of ethical wrongdoings - I am sure you know all this so I won't preach, but if you can afford to shop in a less supermarket-dependent way I think you do a great favour to your community, even if your pocket does not feel the benefits immediately. I occasionally find myself shopping in a supermarket because of family demands and know that I always feel bad afterwards, feeling like I have betrayed my community! Just my opinion, though.

Here are my pleasures for today:

1 - Long lie-in reading the 40's style book in bed.

2 - Breakfast of 2 leftover oat cookies from last night, with a cup of tea, still in bed reading the book.

3 - Did a wash and hung it outside because of the good weather.

4 - Managed to fit some work into my lazy morning (took me a long time to get motivated but I nearly finished typing the minutes! YIPPEE!).

5 - Yummy lunch of bread, salad and homemade hummus with DD. DS came home later and loved the hummus too.

6 - Morsbagging with my friend, also had a visitor who loved our morsbagging and might join us on another day.

7 - Dear OS friend called me to say that she has won two tickets for the Vitality Show and invited me THANK YOU! You know who you are.

8 - DS cooked tonight, pasta with broccoli. Because he knows I prefer wholemeal pasta he used that, even if there is white in the cupboard and he likes white better. Very kind and considerate of him, my dear boy!

9 - Got two free online tickets for Grand Designs Live and of course I shall invite my friend!

10 - DD and DH just came back from visiting an exhibition they went to see together. I like that they spend some time together, it is good for them, they are both arty and if I had gone as well I would have keeled over with boredom (and probably spoiled the outing by whinging), instead the two of them just love all that design stuff!

Have a good night everybody xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Evening all

As you all know I've been offshore visiting one of our gas platforms so I've got a bit of catching up to do and quite a few pleasures to share

    Westy Welcome aboard
Jexygirl Glad to see you're back

    1) Lovely flowers from 10 year ex....it was even better when I got back from my trip and the house smelt beautiful

    2) Great flight offshore....was very early but I got to see the sun rise over the sea

    3) Getting lots of work done recently. It all just seems to be slotting into place

    4) Spending some time with my offshore boys....such a lovely bunch and always a good laugh

    5) Finally getting a pump to work after it being broken for 18 months - very proud of the boys for this one - they've had a steep learning curve

    6) The lovely weather we've been having recently

    7) Someone coming to view the house tomorrow - and they've already sold theirs - fingers crossed that they like it

    8) Getting on the helicopter to come home and finding my best friends husband on there - meant we could have a chat and finally arrange for us all to go out.

    9) Now having a lovely glass of wine.

    10) Free cakes at work due to someones birthday today

Right I'd better go and catch up with what's been going on with everyone while I've been gone.

Hope everyone is well. Have a great evening

    Evening everyone,

Ollie - You asked about Tesco accepting vouchers. Tesco accept all rivals spend & save vouchers (if you spend £50 save £5, type of voucher). They tend not to like the farmfoods vouchers as they don't scan at the tills and some SA say they don't take them but if you stand your ground they will. I have used M&S, Farmfoods, Somerfield, Waitrose, Morrisons and Sainsburys vouchers at Mr.T. Well worth the effort I have saved at least £50 so far this year using other shops vouchers.

    Mine for today,
    1. Bought DD a little make up set in Debenhams sale today and gave to her a little present tonight as she has been very well behaved this week and doing much better at school. She loved it :T
    2. Doughnut at work today bought by the Finance Director :)
    3. Jambalaya for dinner, this is my term for using up whatever is in the bottom of the fridge and mixing it with rice and a tomato based sauce:rotfl:but tasted yum
    4. Busy day at work as carrying out office moves, felt like I had earned my money today.
    5. Glass of chilled white wine, normally a red drinker but really enjoying this glass or two tonight.

Hugs to all who need them
