& Our resident campaigner. & This one is a no. Too much media hype and bull that one. Well, if I had opted out, how would a remote hospital know what drugs I am on.

bop - earnest reply from me.
NHS info share is NOT about normal patient care.
Of course you will never be in the situ you posit above.
Of course all medical records can be shared as now, when necessary.

Infoshare is about rendering your medical records trackable, saleable, identifiable, available to police. This may not be a concern for you. The point is that once they are 'shared', anything may happen
NO computerised records have proven impregnable yet.
Under this gumment, market forces are already privatising the NHS at a gallop.
These records will not be safe.
&'s village surgery is concerned enough to have printed opt-out forms on the counter, with a sensible, non-polemical info sheet.

Environment Agency think Worcester's flood barriers will be breached later today. :-(

Expects back of the & hand.

Record accessed in blue flashinglight ambulance, . Immediate notification of beta blocker I am on. Immediate pills, jic.
Thirst time, another flashing light job. Heart beat of 6 per minute, and failing Prepped and readied for emergency procedure. Notification of allergy to penicillian, used as an antibiotic in pacemaker placement, emergency or permanant.

Without which, I could have had an emergency pacemaker and wires from my backside inserted. Administered penicillin and ...

The only way that the records would be sold, would be a rogue employee, and then only to see the drugs I am on. If I was treated straight away for an emergency pacemaker, then, unconcious, I would have been administered penicillin. I was not in a position to reuse. Because of my record being available, and previous heart murmers noted, the ambulance was able to get two, of the three traces required to fit the pacemaker within 24 hours. And I did !!!!!! myself at the thought.

And here is Jenny's verdict on the matter!

Afternoon all - just can't get warm today.

    Or interested in much :(

    And a massive headache

Wonder if i'm coming down with something?

I know, small fry compared to peeps down south and west.

PK - good luck with the application
    Welcome any new people!
& and BoP - I guess sometimes we have to agree to differ. I shall be opting out. Must do that.

    Yesterday's pleasures

    1. Was :rotfl: when I told a colleague about my cleaner woes and she said "well that's a first world problem if ever there was" :D
    2. Good teaching session but it's the last one of "can do it off the top of my head" lectures. I am venturing into unchartered waters next week.
    3. Snow! Absolute blizzard for an hour or so, swiftly followed by bright blue skies and sunshine. The pleasure is that it stopped, I was inside for the duration and it was lovely by time I drove home! :T
    4. Watched some of Graham Norton while I tidied and he had the most amazing robot on - was gobsmacked
    5. Tidied and cleared out one of "those" drawers - full of assorted "carp" and manky make up. I even threw a few things away.

    And today

    1. Not being out in the storm - someone turned a tap on over the town for about 2 minutes this PM, anyone in it would have been drenched.
    2. Got a new cleaner coming to check us out tomorrow. Though I am in two minds about training someone up again - may just do it myself and save the money
    3. Bacon and egg for lunch
    4. Out with the girls tonight
    5. Hmm, I'll save it.

Have a good, and safe, evening all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Good evening all !

BoP- I have been thrown over for KK !!! I miss my strap line :p

VJsmum - You will cave in and get that cleaner ..now you have emptied the sofa they will have nowt to do !!!

    5 for yesterday

    1. Work ok

    2. Site visit went well

    3. Mr. M voucher used

    4. OH filled up the MGV with petrol for me and paid half !

    5. New hens very timid but greed wins every time. Small bantam egg and a nice pink one from the new crew.

    5 for today

    1. Got lots done at work.

    2. Driver door wont open on the MGV with the fob . Not impressed climbed in passenger side later realised I could unlock it with that strange thing called a key :o!!! Not used one of those since the 90's :rotfl::rotfl:

3.Two more eggs from the newbies - one is moulting and one appears very young so I shall expect another two per day when they have sorted themselves out.

4.Pasta, quorn, pesto and veg for tea.

    5. Free 12 months roadside assistance arrived today as my car was purchased from a dealer affiliated to that company .

Have a good evening all !

That's brilliant - how long did it take you?!

Frith - sorry to see the pictures of Worcester - it looks a lovely town (city?) even under all that water. I've been looking at pictures of my home county - Surrey - online and it's pretty underwater there, too. :(

ampersand - love the & poem. :D And thanks again for the delivery - you really are too kind. :A

sparrer - hope your DD feels much better now she's got the new medication.

VickyA - hope all went OK for you today.

    1) Tablets prescribed by the GP are very good, and work very quickly - I felt noticeably more relaxed by the time I went to bed, and slept well for at least the first part of the night.

    2) A text from my DM in which she mentioned the same thunderstorm that woke me up at 4am - all my colleagues slept through it and didn't know what I was talking about, so it was good to have confirmation I hadn't dreamt it!

    3) A colleague rescued some sweet things from a meeting and brought them back to the office - two hearts of very crumbly shortbread, stuck together with lashings of buttercream and strawberry jam. Sickly sweet, delicious, and utterly impossible to eat without making a mess - apologies to the cleaners who have to sort out all the resulting crumbs! :o

    4) Isis had gone back into hiding when I got up, but came out for some fuss before I went to work, and has played / purred / eaten with enthusiasm this evening, so it looks as if all is well again, much to my relief.

    5) Really enjoying the 'replay' function on the BBC Sport website, which has allowed me to watch the pairs ice skating (my favourite event) from the start, even though ti started while I was still at work. :T

Hope all are staying safe and well in this foul weather - I know I'm very lucky that the only casualty so far is a broken fence!
Back after a very long break!

Morning! It's Thursday here and a day off all by myself lies ahead .have been up since 5 am and have phoned my mum and MIL.

Yesterday was very hot and for the first time very humid....so I was more miserable than usual! So my Wednesday pleasures :

Beautiful sunrise. We have a lot of smoke haze from the bush fires about 50km away, so sky is a bit fuzzy but a very pink filtered sky first thing.

Train to work. I have discovered that if I am on and off train by 7am ( which I am on an early start) it's free! How wonderful is that? It's the early bird special:)

Work ( apart from interesting staff dynamic person ) was good. Wednesday's takeaway was lemon slices that would have been getting chucked....DD1 and I chucked them right in our mouths as we sat right in front of a fan trying to cool down!

Train home and didn't have too long to wait in the heat for one, then went straight in to air conned library to borrow a couple of books.

Cheated and had takeaway from the noodle bar for tea....honest guvnor was just tooooo hot to cook.

Early to bed , have actually slept right through for a pleasant change. I might have the opportunity for a snoozette this afternoon.

We have not been getting coverage over here of floods but I've been following online and it's dreadful. It makes me feel a bit guilty ( just a bit) of moaning about heat but I think extremes of temperature wherever you are are difficult. We are with continual dry , hot weather so at risk of fire , which is scary. ...not so much where we live but we are very , as the crow flies, near country side. My heart goes out to all who are suffering from bad weather..one way or another. Stay safe x

Thinks of the blonde six footer in the carvers. Stood up she was. Still. As I mentioned cheapo choccie fors mes and BoPsie on our anniversary!! Nom. Nom.

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. No change in the flood alert so hoping it stays dry, our house is the last in the alert area so as long as no change we should stay dry.
    2. Went into work early as not sure how long it would take to get there but bus came as got to the main road and got to work in matter of minutes and it meant I could leave early
    3. Tea and cake at inlaws as is their 48th wedding anniversary
    4. Very naughty and got fish and chips on way home.

Hugs to all who need them and hope everyone is staying safe and dry (cool - Mhagster)
