BoP - thanks for the tip re Isis' carrying box - I'll give that a go if I can ever persuade her to come out again. :undecided
1) Slept reasonably well last night.
2) Lots of sympathy at work for my poor, scratched hands, even from those who normally have no interest in anything cat-related, which indicates how bad the damage is!
3) Managed to get a GP appointment for tomorrow, which is pretty good as I've had to wait two to three weeks in the past.
4) Took Isis to my local vet for a follow-up appointment and she seems to be physically fine now, although still so stressed I've put her in the bedroom with everything she needs and will sleep on the sofa tonight so as to leave her in peace. (Well, as BoP says, it's her house!)
5) Had a phone call from a wine company I have dealt with in the distant past, offering me a very good deal - 12 bottles plus some wine glasses for £50 - if I'll give them another try. Oh, OK then!
Have a good evening, all - I'm off to watch last night's instalment of Top Gear until it's time to sleep again.Back after a very long break!0 -
CCP: they do a feliway thing that is supposed to calm I believe it may be a temporary help.
1.It’s just another manic Monday ahhhhhh I wish I won the lottery ahhhh ahhhh
2. Making plans we have a day off a “date day” Weds and “show” tickets exciting. Very mse it’s a bit of a cheat early valentines, with show tickets I booked a year a go…
3. Diet meal for dinner was v good and I resisted snacking my complete downfall, but I am also wearing a pair of trousers I couldn’t get into before – motivation.
4. The washing is on, and the animals are happy
5. The neighbours are apparently having a kitchen fitted, so I got DH to hover while I was at work and they kindly offered us use of their trade account to be able to get the deal / price we are looking for as I was complaining while I love planning I want to get the kitchen done. We have someone to do the worktops, and some one to fit the boiler, now from all the quotes we know what we want we just also know we don’t want any we have been quoted. Handy eh.0 -

mmm BoP, you are a prince amongst men, you love maaaaaarmite, slurp! x (none of my GC's (as Biblio and I would say
) have ever liked the stuff, shame on them!)
1. & - I watched an episode of Grand Designs tonight with a beautiful Art Deco recreation...now want lot 432 to wear whilst I float around in it - well, a gal can dream of dancing with Fred Astaire, can't she?!?
2. Day 1 of school placement went fabulously - the kids are cuties, and I can already see which ones I will have my work cut out withand which ones I will cry to say goodbye to in 6 weeks' time!
3. Popped up to uni (well, sat in traffic for AGES due to flooding all over the city) and bumped into a chum on my way out of the library.
4. I emailed my favourite tutor to ask if she could point me in the direction of where to start with a topic I'll be teaching, and within an hour she had sent me a huge email and lots of attachments with great ideas that I can hopefully adapt down to Year 3s. What a superstar
5. Bumped into my 'personal tutor' at uni and he was quite pleasant rather than his usual arrogant persona. There is hope for him yet!
6. DD gave me a nice cuddle when I picked her up from Brownies and excitedly told me all about her fabulous day
7. Managed to resist chocolate today *polishes halo*!0 -

Ampersand I tried to look it up but it is a broken link.
Here's mine for today:
1. Hair tint model, my roots have disappeared, for free as it was her exam day!
2. Naughty treat while hair modelling, 5 M&S mini flapjacks.
3. Invited one of the children I look after for chips after school, to celebrate his acceptance into a college where his brother already goes. He was delighted!
4. Quick soup before babysitting, jazzed up with fried garlic and fresh chilli, very tasty!
5. Sweet texts from DD. She sounds better and saner than I have heard her in quite a while.
Good night allFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

So true. My parents have two cats, including Ozzy. You've never met such a spoilt cat! My mum still calls him "Kitten", but he's the biggest brute you could ever meet (aged 12). If she's reading a newspaper and needs to grab something else, my mum will stand up, clutch Ozzy to her, get what she needs and sits back down. DH was in hysterics when he first saw it and incredulous from then on in!!!
So, my pleasures for today:
1) Used a couple of vouchers in Mr T's this evening. Effectively got DH's shower gel for a mere 50p.
2) Yellow sticker fresh pasta sauce for tea tonight (29p) with pasta.
3) Defrosted a HM banana loaf from the freezer. Ahem, quite a bit seems to have disappeared (in my tummy).
4) The first of my (pre-organised!) February birthday cards have been posted.
5) Finished all my school work for the evening! :j :jSealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Hi all
Mhags - your free dinners sound divine
BoP - I thought we'd had the marmite debate?
Chicken - I wish I could get away with all those crisps and chocolate. Mind you, MiL brought some QStreet and I couldn't eat more than 2, far too sweet
Ampersand - love the Haharcherswas rather taken with the unframed print of the rooftops of Cambridge
PQ - my handbag gets full of hairbands and grips, except on Saturday when I really needed some and there were none to be had
CCP - hope Isis improves
PK - well done on the trews :T
DD - under the sofa = crumbs :rotfl:
KK - Ooh I did that with the references for 2 students the other day, hope they appreciated it as much. Though they didn't say
Caterina - 5 flapjacks, sounds so decadent
Vicky - only just finished mine.
Today's pleasures
1. MiL [STRIKE]went home[/STRIKE] got home safely. we had a nice coffee together before she left
2. out for coffee and catch up with friend
3. DS came home from school demanding cake but we didn't have any - so he made one! :T Lovely Victoria sponge - he's learning.
4. Ate the Cadbury's crème egg OH bought me yesterday
5. Hmm can't think of a 5th I'll save it.
Today I lost 2 cleaners in a day - the original one has leftand the replacement decided not to come after all (no, she hadn't seen the pile of stuff from down the sofa - but is rather a coincidence.) Not sure what will happen now.
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1. Baking morning. 2 loaves - one for DD - shortbread, snack bars, dog biscuits
2. made roasted roots with veg pie topped with sweet potato for dinner
3. nsd/npd
4. friend in for tea this afternoon, now the shortbread is sorely depleted
5. quiet evening reading with Classic fm on in the background.
Sweet dreams0 -
