    Welcome BB :)

    1. My all-day pleasure was celebrating DD'sand DS's birthdays. Spoke to them both on the phone and will be seeing them in the not too distant future, DD probably on Monday and DS in March. To make it special I treated myself to dinner of ribeye steak, which DS bought for me when he visited at Christmas. It was just as I like it, bloody enough for me to have to stab it with the fork before it hoofed it off the plate, and soooo tender it barely needed a knife to cut it. Beautiful, just like my children :)

    2. Watched Torville and Dean again, it was just as enjoyable as last night.

    3. Nice lot of shredding in the post, seems the insurance companies haven't caught up with the fact that I changed my car last year

    4. nsd/npd

    5. Splash, Casualty

    6. a two-hour convo with my Aussie friend in NSW, who will be flying back to UK next week. Thank goodness for skippy, as we call it, free chats as long as we like

eta PK I completely understand your anger - my DM bought an arm chair a couple of years ago through a company rep who persuaded her to spend approx 4 times what we could have bought one for in a specialist shop . I loathe those thieves with a vengeance and fully sympathise with you.

    Sweet dreams :)

Hello all have caught up on posts. What a fab lot of cheerful os things. Sorry though to hear about the not so nice, particularly pk but the triple sec sounds good
    1) dd2 (season ticket holder) bought us all tickets for le match for christmas and today was the day :D
    2) ds came over and we drove. Much cheaper than train and easier as of course match day trains are heaving!
    3) we found free parking place right outside dd1's pad
    4) took dd1 and ds for lunch in fave pizza place between greyfriars bobby (sniff) and museum of scotland. It's a funny wee place, skinny triangle in shape. £25 for all four of us, excellent portions and non-alcoholic drinks. You can see why i love it!
    5) then MoS (free) before meeting dd2 and her bf at waverley at the end of her shift. While waiting i wandered round and reverbed over 30p in small coins. All going in my swaziland haggis pot
    6) after match (where we forewent interval drinks, not even a ginger grouse) we walked back to dd2s vis mr t where i bought a feast for 6 for £20 minus £1.80 wombled mr t spit
    7) found a dropped engerland flag which i in true bagpuss fashion have brought home
    8) warmed, stuffed and repleat we bade farewell to dd2 and her bf, dropped dd1 off at her flat (xoh had kindly gone in the rain to get the car from dd1's), dropped ds back at his flat in dundee and now in bed with snotty cat snuggled up against me.
So a pretty good day all round. Well unless you were supporting wales or scotland which of course i wasnt.

Hello, hello from a bit cooler but still awffy warm Melbourne. It was 35o when I went out to work this morning at 7am, having been in the 30's overnight. Went up to 40o and then a 'cool change' came in and it's dropped to high 20's. When I go out to work tomorrow it's to be 14o....I might even need a cardi!

We are watching the Winter Olympics....vicariously feeling chilled!

Had a chat with my friend on phone this morning

Had a good day at work . Train there and OH picked me up.
He has been working on my car but we have a new problem that wasn't there....but he has sought advise from a mechanic friend back home....just need to wait for home to wake up!

We went and had an amazing treat of ice cream from an ice cream parlour.

DD1 had something to return to a shop in next town, so we went too. I got a few photos developed from yesterday's trip to the beach and bought muffins that I had a voucher for.

We have tawny frogmouths back in our tree. We are delighted. I thought they were giving us a miss this summer, mum ,dad and their baby!

ampersand ...make sure you do as recommended and look after yourself!
  • Morning, brrrrr. Think I will not disturb BoPsie, just put kettle on, and give her mugs in bed.

Then we can have SpagYETTI hoops on toast.

  • Hope everyone is having a peaceful Sunday.

    1. Another lie in. Not quite so long this time but not having to set the alarm clock is such a luxury.
    2. Made a roast dinner for DD and DS so they go back to Uni feeling full.
    3. The discovery of a box of fancy biscuits in the cupboard. Bought them for Christmas but didn't use them. We are having MIL and FIL round shortly and my cake has sunk :( so they will be very handy.
    4. Am wearing a lovely purple top bought at the charity shop yesterday. Purple is good.
    5. Just about to make soup with the left over stock. Can't think of much more frugal meals than home made chicken soup.
  • Good afternoon all !

BoP- if you cook like that you can all move in! Gotta share your talents !!

    5 for today

    1. Got a message yesterday from nephews gf that someone on the Book of Face was giving away some hens but that they must be collected this weekend.

    2. Had a think and cut down one of the hen runs, well OH did ( the sick bay , newbie run) as some of the wood had rotten and we were then able to put it in the new walk in run . Separated from my others but safe from Mr.Fox.

    3. Went to see them and they are lovely hens in good nick. Took all four home :D. Now installed and settling in much to my red hen's utter disgust . She hasn't stopped shouting and swearing at them.Gentle introductions in a few days but all old enough to sort themselves out.

4.Roast chicken for tea :rotfl:No not one of my ten hens, that would be to me like eating my kids , got one from Mr. T .

    5. It has stopped raining !!!
