The weekend! A lovely feeling after a hard week at school...parents evenings, very pregnant and tired by Thursday and only a week left with my class before I have to share them with the new teacher until my maternity leave starts. Come on Mrs Ding, 1 of our class rules is we share!
Pleasures to treasure today:
*Slept until 7:15!
*My little man snuggled in bed with me and watched tv until 7:45.
*Sausage sarnies for breakfast.
*No pressure for cleaning or shopping as managed a mid-week clean after school Tuesday and had a nicely stocked freezer.
*Still in my pjs and it's 9:45!
Wow...the list will go on I'm sure.Feels like a holiday!

Told you I would catch up, but burn candles at the end, no. Try a glass of rum. That put yous to sleep? Cheeky barmaids and age checks. Secrets shared. I says it should be on winner takes all. And bacon bits in rolls. Wat no egg? Chicken Kiev for tea. Story of old, going there. Had to be trained on eating them, and vodkas at the same time. Try substituting water as well. Boy. Phone calls and day lines. Something's should be knockout. Jenny being placed was not! :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls See! Last legs. Risotto. Tea. A tear for KK. But after Chikka comes in with a line like that, what can I do, but put Ms BoPsie back on the market!:beer::beer: She will leave instruction on how to use!
Rites, if I missed you off. Tuff! But life is like that!
5 Snorkers, toast, egg, toms, mushrooms. Washed down with tea. And jam. Raspberry with pips on toast.
4 Last nites tea of Ckikka Tikka was so good, Ms BoPsie was besides hersen all nite long. She has had such good fud prepared by her BoP.
3 Match off, so I has to do the kitchen sink instead. Tap gone. Will not belong to fix though. I will gets me scanners out and hammers. That will sort it.
2 nite will be live scrabble nite I think, so tune in later for live match reports and get behind BoP. Remember, last time, BoPsie was in the lead and offered best of three.
She lost two nil. So, do not count your birds till there cracked.
1 A hand in the bush will be all prickly.
And people round here not using correct terminology. It is a Snorker! No such thing as a sausage, ding ding!0 -
1. Sod Elevation Sling[id'd via youtube,thenkhew]- abandoned. Have driven, having recuperated &banger[no mash]from hospital under cover of darkness and buspass thereto.
All is well and painkillers ignored. Just reminds me it's still there, for which &is grateful.
2. It wasn't nice. Surgery was outstanding, felt nothing, but getting to that point was not-took over 2hrs for lines and needles to be in arm and hand. Don't want again, ever. But again, bless Nuffield for total numbness chopping and stitching and late lovely lunch, near 16h - avocado+prawns rose marie, plaice goujons in sesame tempura, little salads, icecream, juice.
3. Something else - please just join in my thanksgiving, blessings and pray for continuation. Appreciated Compline Wednesday[night of car crime, deliberately for this]and Prayer Brekkie next morning.
4. Have just finished S J Watson's Before I Go To Sleep
http://www.sjwatson-books.com/beforeigotosleep/
Anyone else? Thoughts? One of those slightly annoying reads which I had to finish before getting on with rest of today....
5....neatly, one mini-catharsis to next, back@The Alma. As I coach both Wales and Ireland these days, should be able to watch with amicable neutrality[je m'en fiche!], then to watch Murrayfield, where&, newish to UK, saw this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLJENzYX390
...which squares circle back to last Saturday, when I was off to watch 6N and writing as much.
6. New laptop still in box, better extract soonish. New phone still useless here - back it will have to go for abacus replacement.
7. Enforced one-handedness left Leftie moi with more letter-writing hours. Used. Posted. When I next see recipients on both sides of world, they'll be asking me to decipher them, as they always do...:-)
I'll catch-up read over w/e. Now I just send warm wishes, dry ones, safety and high ground, with smilles and thoughts of yellow thing to come.

Morning all (well, it's just about still morning!).
Thanks for your comments re the assignment - I think I will make a challenge, as nicely as possible as he's generally a very good tutor. I just need to find a way of phrasing it without using the words "it's not fair" which a) is neither professional nor helpful and b) makes me sound about twelve! :rotfl:4. Picked up my post from the sorting office, got some flameless candles from dotcom gifts discounted thanks to this site:money:
I'm slightly envious - I went up to the post office yesterday to collect my dotcom parcel and, after searching for 20 minutes, the nice man in the collection office admitted that it seemed to be missing.Hopefully it will turn up eventually, but it's not looking promising.
1. I've decided to go for the higher level assignment at uni! You can't keep this Kitty down for long.
I know it's easy for me to say as I'm not the one who has to do it, but I think that's the right decision. I know the L7 route is generally more highly thought of in the education world, and it can only be good for your future career (which I have no doubt will be a great one) to do it if possible.
DD - have a fantastic time at Murrayfield!
1) My first HG daffodil is open. :j
2) Had a meeting at work and the disciplinary note on my record about my level of sick leave - added, as you may remember, because I had to have an operation on my foot last year - has now been removed. It's still something of a sore point that it was ever added in the first place, but at least it's finished now.
3) The LL's repair man came round about the mould problem in my flat, but obviously hadn't been told about the background as his response was "that's been caused by a leak - you need to get a dehumidifier in here". :wall: I managed to avoid the 'NSS' response, but I certainly thought it!
4) Fix in the leaky roof seems to have worked, as no more water came in despite a revolting evening / night.
Can't think of a fifth, so I'll keep it for another day!Back after a very long break!0 -
Ooooh. DD Off to Murrayfield. Sit down and think of Engerland!
Live Scrabble
Kick off, well it has just kicked off. Raffles has come in soaked, stretched and the bored needs a dry. Hair dryer moment. The rules are in plaice, under the bored. Tiles are shuffled, in the bag.
Refreshments this eve, whine for BoPsie. Three Spitfires, a Tribute and the Bishop for BoP. Hic Hic. Finger kebabs of pineapple, cheese and Snorker bits (home cooked).
Solid start by BoP. Tread, 16. BoPsie shows her gruff. Lays Greatest (like her BoP) on the treble. 80 points. Oh well, just played Wart.
Light has Shone for BoPsie, but BoP has started to pull back now, Cure. 42 plays 94.
Music tonight is by 10,000 Maniacs. Deaden has been laid by BoP. BoPsie is struggling, just a short Rod. 56 plays 104.
Wobbleade is served. BoP is suffering the tiles this eve. Needs to Free himself up. BoPsie still leads by 64
Two trebles by BoP. Vend & Slab. Get to within 34. But BoPsie snakes out the Q!
There is going to be an S played on a treble, but none to hand. 40 in it, and Bozpsie yet to offer best of three. Challenge coming in from BoP for Mozaics. Ooooofed. BoPsie loses turn. Here we go!
Game changer coming up for BoP. X has been found. Is headed for a dark blue square. 50 coming.
X laid. 15 points in it. In it!
BoP has pulled two blanks out, no tiles left. 19 in it!
Brill for BoP. Skew played. BoP in the leaf. BoPsie plays again. Takes lead. BoP bangs out with Unit. Is it enuff?
Boo. BoPsie only counted back two. Spitfire pored. Best of three.
Early doors game two. BoP in the lead this time. Building up clear blue water, and no shadowing wake.
BoPsie again lays a seven letterer. BoP is struggling, suddenly a challenge is upheaval. BoPsie word is oooofed.
Not looking good for BoP this eve, third wobbbbbbleade is pored. Salvation has come!
Aye, but now I play Jaded just where BoPsie wanted to go. That will hold her back then. Think I a coming to my awe now. Stay around!
Think a rule validation check is coming up shortly. But BoP is still behind.
BoP's last throw of the tiles. Has played the Q. Challenged by BoPsie. Will it be upheld? No, all is lost for BoP.
Wobbleade is sort. Time for a film!
BoPsie puts on her winning musiq. Pomp and Circumstance March 4. Oh no, the needle is bust on the 78 player. Unlucky BoPsie!0 -
It is 6 am and still 31o , the temperature has not went down over night and it's been a difficult one to try and sleep. However , it's now Sunday morning and I have work so a relief to get up.
Saturday pleasures included :
A quick chat with mum and the a longer chat with May oh so wise friend.
a scone.
Collecting a brooch that had been ordered and set aside for me. This was something I'd seen before Christmas and thought how lovely, I shall buy it next week and there were none left. Then it turned out it was a limited edition and none to be found anywhere. So I just happened to ask last Saturday at the cafe/ gift shop where we have a Saturday scone , so they managed to get me one back in.
Bit of beach! A beautiful bit of beach down the Bellarine Peninsula. Girls were in and out of sea all afternoon.....I had a paddle up to my ankles.
Stopped for dinner on way home at a very nice pizza/ deli.
Have a good evening x0 -
Rather new to the forum but been lurking for a few months, always like this thread.
My 5 for the day;
1. Sadly had a bad homemade lasagne for dinner BUT have got a nice cup of tea by my side.
2. Got some delicious Hotel Chocolat chocolate to nibble on, not very Moneysaving but very yummy.
3. Had to work today, but Gentleman Caller was working too and we work at the same place so I got to see him
4. Been very good with my money this week so I can shuffle a bit more into my savings.
5. Tomorrow IS a day off so can plan something nice to do with it!0 -
Welcome BritishBibliophile! Please do join in!
Here are my five for today:
1) DD and DS are home for the weekend.
2) A lie in.
3) Brunch at a chain pub nearby. Didn't save any money but it was half as expensive as going out this evening.
4) A wander round the charity shops buying a couple of things I couldn't afford otherwise - B0den dress and a linen shirt from M&5.
5) A real fire. It means the heating switches off because the thermostat is in here and the fuel is free - we're still burning bits of the garden.
Have a lovely weekend, posters and lurkers all.0
