Well done, Kittikins!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son continues to do well at school. His TA is very happy working with him and says she wishes there were "3 smaller son's" in the base with her!
3) Went out for a cup of tea with my friend this morning. Caf! Neros. They are super efficient at my nearest branch, far quicker than any other I have been to. They ask what you want then, while making it, ask the next person what THEY want and keep it in mind while you pay! They were slightly slower than normal this morning so told me my drink was free!
4) Birmingham Christmas market this evening! Pleasures included - noodles for tea, Berliners on the train, looking round the market stalls and the lights. Also bumping into a chap from the year above me at high school on Snow Hill station platform - as we said, what are the chances of that, 20 years later and 40 miles away from school!
5) Enjoyed watching Derren Brown just now.
6) Kettle boiled so hwbs for me and bigger son then off to bed to listen to the News Quiz.0 -

Tis almost m-early Christmas...almost midnight and we are for the first time ever exchanging gifts just after midnight! DD has work early in the morning and no one was too keen to get up at silly o'clock. So we shall celebrate our m-early Christmas in Australia tomorrow with full Christmas dinner.
Today:
Saturday scone...date
Saturday Santa....dropped off in a fire engine and the brass band played jingle bells....had tears behind my sunglasses!
Saturday supper with friends, lasagne, potato wedges and salad followed by meringue and strawbs and cream. Lovely company of friends who brought a tin of quality streets that have already been dived into and lovely homemade cookies.
Saturday sunshine, lovely day, not hot but warm.
Next Saturday will be a Scottish one
Pathetic pavlova mark one: do not put bicarbonate of soda in your pavlova mix thinking its cornflour.....it doesn't work! It was an absolute disaster!
What a waste !
pavlova mark two much better!
Have an amazing day.....I have very excited big children , I can hear them...it's gone midnight!0 -
Good afternoon all !
Been MIA for a bit .. thank you for missing me folks .
VJsmum- wow that pie was awesome Nig*lla eat your heart out ! (although I am sure that she has other things on her mind at the moment )As were the jam tarts . I hope that they were appreciated
PK - glad to hear that you are still hitting the rtc counter .
ampersandxx
LFS - who was the lucky fella who got to clean that bath out then after you had that soaking and plucking session?? DS or OH ??:rotfl: It took me 8 weeks post op. but boy I remember the pain and the pleasure of that "first" soak.
some pleasures..
1. Injured my neck badly after lifting off a bliddy compost bin lid . Its now better :T
2. Have not "felt" anything for a few weeks and couldn't face opening laptop . Not feeling sorry for self just not feeling well ..anything . Not normal. Now normal (if I ever was)
3.Got a new TV (sorry BoP) got so used to whacking the old one but like this one .
4. OH paid for TV with gift cards (Cur*y's) from Mr. M which gave him 45p off each litre of petrol - £34 quid saved off of his petrol last week .
5. Hair cut.
6. Taught the terrier some new words FOX! and LOOK , LOOK, LOOK !. Due to cheeky fox sauntering up DM's garden in the early afternoon .She nearly got the bu**er .
7. Pizza meal courtesy of Mr. T vouchers with OH yesterday as he had day off too.
8.Work busy. Only 4 working days left then off.
9.Bought an antique glass fish flower frog called "Poisson Volante" (sp) I have a blue one but had spotted this in an antiques shop window over a year ago and it was still there yesterday got it for £20 instead of £28 . The thing is, its in the wrong bowl and I have the right bowl which another deco glass naked lady has been sitting in and the bowl that the new deco fish came with is actually the one she should be in anyway. So perfect match - now need to make room for all these bits. ampersand - I know that you understand !
10. Hens growing back their feathers after "the moult"
Have a lovely Saturday all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Kittikins - very well done! :T:T:T
I'm in early today with my first pleasure - an email to say that my job application has been successful and they'll be contacting me 'soon' about an interview. :j (I'm guessing 'soon' will be after Christmas as there's only about a week of this working year left now.)
I don't expect to get this job, but it's a real morale boost that my first application has resulted in an interview at least.Back after a very long break!0 -

Yay, CCP's going to have an interviewx
BoP - oi! I'm a teacher who breaks the mouldy view you may have of usMy kids will always love me for my silliness and helping them learn useful things, as well as how to plot points on a graph to make a Christmas tree, lol x

5. Mummykins has taken a fab-looking book out of the library for me - she listened to it on CD and was unable to drag herself away until it was finished, so I have high hopes!

7. Looking forward to watching the walking history Tony Robinson programme tonight.
8. DD, mummykins and I had a great time playing card games after lunch, so lovely not to feel like I wanted to get it over and done with so I could get back to studying. Long may that feeling last....at least until tomorrow, before I put my nose back to the studying grindstone (if I haven't lost my mojo!)0 -
