Well done, MrLisaKay.
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep. Until the veg box man woke me up dropping the box off at 6.30.
2) Sons had a good day at school.
3) Went to the solicitors to have my will written (or at least, to give him the details to go in it).
4) Went to mum and dad's and had poached egg on toast for lunch there.
5) Big tea! Had shepherds pie and a massive amount of braised red cabbage (with apples and spiced) plus roast parsnips.
6) Have done very little this evening except watch 24 Hours in A and E. I do think its a well put together programme.0 -
I've been remiss. Sorry, all.
Skint yet Again - keep your head down & get better! You need an evac chair? Plus useful union - hurrah!
BoP - ah, fish & chips watching boats... Darn, Raffles is one handsome feline! Who doesn;t trash the board?! (Yet.)
Chickenopolis - boo for boring "training" & hurrah terrier sounding hopeful! Shaved face?! Glad silent observer abided by title! Delighted to read terrier back on chicken watching duty...
CCP - hope your sister is en route to health & that your informal interview is short, informed & somewhat apologetic! Furious on your behalf at incompetent paperwork! Enjoy Isis cuddles & yellow thing! Oh *good* - your pub quiz sounds comfortably famailiar - I was afraid it was just us. If sis likes crime fiction on Kindle, pm me an address & I'll drop a disk of some classic English murders into the post. I have some Scandi too, if she'd like a variety.
Mhagster - domesticity sounds great - even if OH wants sponge... You've never sounded the bigger sized type! Going off cola Not Easy - be gentle with yourself! You have heat & suet? Son considering how far to swim.
Lisakay - hurrah DH in, under and back up & double hurrah for allotment peace! Blasted glass, blessed AA & Hurrah you all made it to the ward in time to be appreciated - if you can, keep taking your lassies, as it's *so* good for patient morale to see shiningly happy healthy lasses. He's HOME?! Welcome & remember how much you are enjoyiong *this* moment when he's being a bit dificult. Suggest to DD she makes you a cloak for school gate wear?!
Broomstick - new tree! Great fun & hurrah Waitrose coffee as a reward! Oh, wow - OU dgeree - BRILLIANT! <breaks out virtual champagne all round>
Ampersand - glad eye bruised & not worse! But 14 days, yikes! Paid to carry away bubbly?! Did you every try this "grownup" idea? Ah, hwb... LOVE "in full terrier jaw-lock mode"!
VJsmum - coffee does spread like flu when spilled! Glad to think vocabulary exercised... Gurgling with laughter, imagining BoP singing "soft kitty", esp after a few wobbleades! Smell of Christmas cake - ahhh!
DD - watching Bride &P in the bath? Movie box sounds wonderful & I'll bet there wasn't a cheep of complaint about your dress at band practice.
VickyA - homemade beetroot soup sounds delicious! Right with you on School Things taking time. (Accounts await auditing, erg.)
Frith - I am *so* impressed with your family Sinter Klass tradition & all the best with Willmaking. Dad Frith on radio?! This time not eating or roaring with laughter?! Ah shopping - yes... I am so lucky to have an Accomplice.
Purple kitten - yeay for haircut & Amazon triumph! Eeek for crowds & yeay! For surviving & all the best for haircut (agree longhairs should cut long hair!) Seems a lot cut, but you seem happy with the length.

Yesterday's OS Pleasures
Been given three huge strong cardboard boxes. My Inner Toddler has been placated only by the reminder that we only play with some toys At Home.
Husband has converted two goose wings (a present from a friend with the touching faith that we could be trusted to do the right thing with them) into a handful of quill pens & several paintbrushes a la Tudor Farm. This time no sand spilled into muffin tin...
Collected a handful of acorns all with little shoots - not sure where or how deep or quite when to pot them, as they may need further coolth but not freezing. However, an oak plant is a pleasant goal!
Spent a few minutes reassuring a new guy that while we *are* madder than a box of frogs, the software ought to work. (As I sat there, it did.)
Having followed &'s kindly link, I've been giggling a lot & feeling svelte. Many thanks!
Today's
Help from collegaues loading my Henge of cardboard boxes into the car, which utterly obscured my vision!
New card through, with just enough time to update it to make use of free listing days - phew...
Converted small sum of money into needed groceries & scored money-off-fuel coupon as tank strategically allowed to run low.
Merry texts from colleague in other office on coffee, china design, historic textiles, poker tradition & the Power of Imagination.
Sons have fallen on boxes with joyful cries - their powers of imagination in overdrive while their father looks on bemused - why'd I get Three? (Three boys - teen was *first* to demand raw materiel for a Fort! Other two took it in turns entombing each other...)
Big hugs to all who need them, rousing hallelujahs on triumphs & returns, and measurable progress towards health to all wondering where it went.0 -
lisakay That is fantastic news.
My five pleasures for Wednesday:
1. Our hooty owls are noisy tonight.
2. Phone call with my dad - my parents are still brimming with pleasure at yesterday's news. CCP - hang on in there with your degree. Not long now!
3. Did a late night shop at Mr S and, apart from the shelf stackers, it was nice and empty which made things much easier. Stocked up on lots of staples.
4. Friend told me that at long last he got round to going through some writing of mine and was laughing out loud reading it on the train to London. Very cheering feedback since it was meant to be funny.
5. Caught up on latest ep of Last Tango in Halifax.
Sweet dreams

Morning from my bed, before I face the day
Lisa, good for mr LK. Hope you aren't wearing willies to the lottiie. Then again...:p
Hurrahs boos and hugs as appropriate
For yesterday
1 bluddy students  one told me the assignment was so simple, it was difficult. No, you [^*~?{%?. It is simple because it is simple
2 went to Chinese supermarket for Mooch and bought some bits for SiL Christmas hamper
3 sang "soft kitty" in a round with DS. Can't believe he did that :rotfl:
4. Dad was chirpy on the phone
5 night off, watched the emperors new groove with DD and knitted.
Should be a day off but have to go in to do my annual lecture for professional institution. Not till 4 though. Have a good dayI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
My Thursday pleasures
Rain, glorious rain....washed away the heat! Was still 30o this morning but now a much more pleasant 18o.
Wrote a list and ticked it off.
Popped out to our local shops for fruit and an empty box.
About to start decorating the family room which is the most awful dark and dismal wood panelled place. We have been given permission from landlords to decorate. So pictures removed from walls ( and put in the empty box!) and with the help of 6 foot tall son we washed all the wood down with sugar soap....after he hoovered all the high bits! He was good company and then we sat and watched a documentary on lizards...of all things !!
First Christmas card arrived...from my letter writing friend with a letter too
Continuing to empty the freezer....I really should write the contents on tubs! 2 tubs of query left over bolognese , defrosted and plonked on top of pasta and presented to my children. Seems one of tubs wasn't bolognese but had chicken in it....absolutely no idea what it originally was. Son wolfed it down though! Anyway, as I felt sorry for them I made them pancakes for pudding!
DD1 being euphoric when she came home from school....someone had chucked a text book in the bin...she nabbed it and we will sell it on...for hopefully $20-40!
Only 3 weeks till my holidays0 -
Just writ all me doodles for me post.
Got lost
In the ether
Or there, who cares
Mote be Amp A Sanded, and her putah.
Bot, alas iPad, I not stupid.
Gone it did, and I said I loved you all.
Left with a blank screen, and ....
Fill in the blanks. You're in luck
Miss a line, nip and took.
In Aussie lands, we are told of the rain
Student too easy? Give them pain!
DFV bin missing, but she did not miss all
Well done LK, up after a fall
Hair, bum, long not been cutting.
Could be lost in my beard, stop tutting
Now a lass for today, I got something for your main.
Got a brolly, keep dry in the rain.
5, 4, 3 Raffles is a confirmed ratter. Bought home his first pressie. Good for him. But why do cats have to bring it into the front room and present it so skillfully!
2 Was in Bristol all day. Did doodle for Adobe and won a brolly.
1 You do not own the moggins. He wins you.
Feet down, food down. Him settled for the night.0 -
Stressing, behind the scenes with both a family and another thing going on, but keeping sane and practising some relaxation things.
1.I was supposed to be in the office today but woke up feeling awful so was able to work at home, looks like I missed more travel chaos.
2.Hot water bottle and painkillers have kept working on my head and neck.
3. Washed and dried our bedding and it’s back on already.;)
4. I had to chase for a payment this week as they err forgot!???, so a pleasure that I wasn’t being paranoid.
5. Just went to Mr T, not vast amount to report, I got all of the salad, tomatoes, cucumbers and casserole veg pack all at part price. And picked up about 5 sandwiches for work at about 60p each. Oh and er a cheeky !clair for dessert at 40p nom nom.:)
Now I reckon it's time of a tea and eclair:p0 -
Broomstick - still so happy about your son's degree!
VJsmum - "soft kitty" works as a round? Fun!
mhagster - odd to hear someone so pleased about rain. Hurrah for tall son! Unidentified Frozen Objects are a classic in our family diet.
BoP - you came 2nd to an iPad too? Raffles got a rat? And made a formal presentation thererof! Aww!
Purple kitten - good for you staying sane. Not easy. Clean bedding is a special treat. I'm guessing absolutely No Split Ends and blunt hemline?
OS Peasures
"Here I am again on my own" blasting out on drive through cold & dark. (I was *not* born to be alone, but love the song!)
My husband thinks I'm Bonkers. My sons think I walk on water. Had the henges been built from cardboard, small children would have been forming queues to be allowed to be part of it.
Morning fog beautiful. Everyone appreciating the beauty & driving More Slowly to enjoy it.
Colleague's baby adorable (mum's English limited but the approval could be easily understood) & father just so proud & happy.
So I'm a sucker for marketing. Son getting Two Product branded mugs this Christmas. Actually, might try to hide one for birthday. I'd grin even more if I liked PG Tips....
Big Hugs to all who need them (including all who haven't posted but stay in our hearts & minds), further progress towards health & Meter Reads this Sunday.0
