  • Duvet time. Tucked in well. You know you all wanted to do so!

5 Offski day and out for brunch. Fish, non Icelandic, and chips. Parked up. Watching boats. Watching trains. There, enough anorak for you!

4 Fish cakes packed. Frozen. Raffles. Bit much for him though. He had bacon at weekend. Nibbled chickens. But he is toooooo daft. Just gutting out. He tries to get behind the side bored! No room you daft goooat! Still. Head butts.

3 This morning he was at the door. Feed me now.

2 Ms BoP gets up to feed him. See my earlier post. Morning radio. Arrrrrggh worse than tv. Arrrrrgh.

    1 You got nouse
  • Good evening all !

LfS - thank goodness that you have not stapled those big Knic Knics on !!!:rotfl:

Sparrer- no comment re going commando ^ ;)Do you remember that thread :rotfl:

DfV- "onions" ?? Do tell. I call my nephew "J" onion, or onion boy. Re Moulting hens - they look like porcupine quills or a Denman hairbrush very odd and very tetchy they get too.

Mcculloch -and VJsmum thank you x

    5 for today

    1. Work consisted of "bespoke" team training . Feedback from yours truly included " I'm not being rude but... This isn't what I expected from today...more like asking us about what we do rather than teaching us anything" on it went followed by more of the same in the afternoon. My colleagues also echoed the same.

2.Terrier does not have an abscess, bad tooth or a "mass" thank heavens . They have sent some stuff off to get it tested. We shall wait and see !She is being collected from the vet by my DBro and DM as I type.

    3. Prawns, garlic, lemon , basil and tagliatelle for tea. Quite nice .

    4. Site visits for the next few days .Good.

    5. Rab jacket nice and warm when I put it on as its kept in the cupboard next to the boiler :)

have a good evening all !

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
I'm struggling a bit for pleasures today - my little sister is in hospital and has been told she has to stay there until they know what's wrong (suggestions so far include an infection, Crohn's Disease, a perforated gut, or early stages of liver failure ), while I've been told I have to have an informal disciplinary interview because I've had too much time off sick - that will be because I had an operation earlier in the year.

    1) Watching the Black Friday deals on Amaz0n, which I find oddly fascinating even when I'm not interested in what's being sold. Amongst all the 'stuff' I found a set of books which I think my sister might like for C-word, so at least something constructive came out of it!

    2) Also ordered myself some new screen protectors for my mobile phone, for the grand total of 1p (plus £1.49 postage). :money:

    3) Had a chat to my sister on the phone - she's feeling pretty unwell, but is in a nice private room so things could be worse. I told her some Isis stories which made her laugh.

    4) Not OS or MS, but I reset the CH so it came on just before I got home - walking into a warm flat, rather than a freezing one, feels very luxurious. :D

Four's not bad on a lousy day!

Chicken - that's great news about the terrier. Hopefully they'll work out what's wrong quite quickly now they know what isn't wrong.

LFS - if you're an Ogg, I should confess that my sister reckons I'm Susan Sto Helit. Is that a compliment or not?
Back after a very long break!

Early Tuesday morning here , birds singing and sun shining .

    But for Monday ...
Looong chat with friend ( we had 3 days worth of news to catch up on!)
I get cut off after 2 hours but can then phone back again ...so that's just what I did!
    Chat with mum.
    Washed/ dried / ironed
Returned some read magazines to the magazine swap box at library and borrowed a few more.
Made lovely soup for tea ( carrot and coriander from our garden) and a lovely rhubarb ( from the garden) crumble.....OH did say ' again?' But only because he prefers sponge.

CCP chin up! Your sister is in the best place and will hopefully get a diagnosis soon and then the appropriate treatment and work .....well you will have had sick lines etc . Years ago I had something similar when I had asked for a transfer and was told they couldn't accommodate my sick record.....that would be the surgery I had on my own ward then and subsequent recovery / infection!

chicken again at least doggy is getting a correct diagnosis and then the correct treatment.

DFV ha! Good luck on your photography session! My 3 children seem unable to smile at the same time....I get more and more crazed as I say it's for your grandmother ...can you all just smile!

LFs we will be expecting an old style update as to what the large knickers become! Can't just throw them out you know!

Have the loveliest of evenings ....it's tomorrow here already!
  • I'm another one struggling for pleasures today, but there are some hiding in amongst the stress.

dropped DH off at the hospital successfully (but was almost chased from the ward by a very scary nurse, I only wanted a quick kiss from him lol)

an hour after I got home from hospital I heard a big bang and the car alarm going off...my back windscreen has shattered with temperature change. :( the only pleasure to be found in that is that it's covered on insurance so 'just' a £100 excess to pay...could've been worse. tax is due next week too, not sure how much more I can tighten my belt!

girls were on their best behaviour for nan and gdad and went into school beautifully.

DH got through his op and is recovering well. was stood up with his new hip just 3 hrs post op!

managed to find a spare hour to spend on the lotty this afternoon. it was so very relaxing and peaceful. last of the garlic planted and shallots in. also pulled some leeks for mum as a small thank you.

changed all the bedding this morning. looking forward to falling into a lovely fresh bed. soon.

    :D

CCP, am keeping fingers crossed for your little sis. Hope whatever they find is treatable in a straightforward way.
Lisakay so pleased your DH is through his op and his new hip is working.

    Five pleasures for Monday:

    1. Had another big allergic-type reaction last night. I know it will have been because I was not being careful about what I was eating yesterday. However, it means that I'm now back on the wagon in terms of eating mega-sensibly again which will make me feel better in all kinds of ways and my weight loss should resume.

    2. Finished watching the Kennedy drama series on iplayer. It's history I sort of remember in real life but only vaguely because I was young. I also remember being scared silly by the first ever episode of Dr Who. I haven't watched the latest one though! :D

    3. Bought the replacement fake X**s tree which needs to last the next 12+ years - cost under a tenner from Argos.

    4. Baked fish with rosemary, speckly mash (ie with carrots) and peas for supper. Yum.

    5. Non-food shopping in town including a few more X**s bits and pieces and culminating in W8rs coffee. :D Feeling very pleased with myself about the X**s stuff.

    Sweet dreams

Oh, ccp - that's a double dose of worry. Caring thoughts for your sister.
Paws crossed for better terrier times, chicken.
mcculloch - had another fishcake ce soir:D. They are SO nice. Cauliflower cheese may sound odd as accompaniment, but it wasn't. Another of my rtc50p pineapple qtrs followed.
    dfv - it's not a vision prob.for pp, but a black eye/cheek.
    kittikins??????????????????????

    1. Finally made it to Library - looking forward to new books, hwb, bed, green tea and some AB Match recovery.

    2. sparrer - went into The Works in the Grafton Centre: 2 good calenders, ditto desk jotter blocks, 2 packs of photo paper, a counter bell[that Summon My Servant thing will go well in famblerley crimbo box>enzed]came out, only £7.13 the poorer. Should have been double, according to pricetags - v. pleased. Good for some peeps behind me too, who went off to find like.

    3. Nearly £30 refunded for something wrong.

    4. P&R driver waited for me.

    5. >Mr T en route back for cream cheese, but cruising aisles, saw bottles of Finest Champagne Mango and Passionfruit Jelly? rtc 47p. Intrigued, looked interesting, useful. Took all 4, to share, but:eek:at check-out, they went through at fullprice: £1.98 each!!!

Went back to check, took pic. on phone, then to K@ c.s. DTD=£12.08! Mr T paid me £10.20 to take them.

    6. Started day with quiet moment in Church and took a big handful of crimbo cards for hand-delivery[volunteers>streets]. Amazingly, there was still one box of eggs. Took them, then crossed paths with young couple and dog, looking curiously at village sign. Chat. New arrivals. He has a lovely name, 'Sage' + Can. or US accent. Gave them the eggs as a Welcome. Explained we have great new lady Vic. May see them again....

lfs - so glad you've felt a bit of comfy at last. Now, I just went off to do another shop for you:

Final 'fession. [look away now [STRIKE]Raffles[/STRIKE] bop]I made a typo, typing Google search 'big kn_ckers pics'. What vowel lives right nextdoor?

HI all - I feel very odd (nothing new there then :p) don't have any pressing work to do and don't quite know what to do with myself. I may just go to bed in a sec.

Vicky A - no to a trip to costa? were you not feeling well? :p
Broomstick - I had to give up the veg boxes, I just couldn't keep up
PK - well done for getting to 8 on a rubbish day. Hope things are improving
Ampersand - I want a shipping forecast teatowel. I have a strange liking for the shipping forecast. My favourite area used to be channel light vessel automatic, but alas, it seems to be no more so have replaced with South Utsire :o
Frith - tamed that shrew yet?:p
    DD - £92!!!!!!!
Sparrer - friends are often what make life bearable
TEalady - I do think some of these balconies in shopping centre are ill advised. Birmingham Bull ring has been home to several suicides in recent years :(
McCulloch - yay for red jeans that fit
BoP - thanks for the image :D
DforV - well done young Onions
LfS - pastel drawers and star trek t shirt, bag lady hat - it gets better and better. Are you trying to put OH wanting any of "that which must wait till Christmas" :p
Skint - glad you are on the mend
Chicken - glad terrier not serious, tea sounds yummy. You sound like me in staff meetings but I have resolved that now - I don't go!!:rotfl:
CCP - hope sister gets sorted
Mhags - I can't get my two to stand together let alone smile at the same time.

    Pleasures for today

    1. Exam seemed fine - most stayed to the end which bodes well
    2. Lady wot lunched, managed to get there prompt owing mostly to the fact that I threw a cup of coffee over myself so had to go home promptly to get changed :o it was only that inch in the bottom of the cup that I always have, but it looked like a whole mug full :p
    3. OH cooked crispy fish for tea with chips - but we had peas so not orange dinner
    4. Spoke to sis in law without criticising her for going on holiday
    5. No work tonight - well not much anyway.

    Night all

Edit - Lisakay, healing thoughts for Hubby, and you too of course
    Mhags - yeah, right
Broomstick - I always know when I am not eating as I should. not to the point of allergic reaction though
I wanna be in the room where it happens
