Kittikins I'm lazing on the recliner sofa, would take to me bed but the dog & mog demand regular door service. Congrats on the obs lesson
Frith had to laugh at your No. 8. My brother is a little older but would love to see his reaction to that. Was watching a programme which included a visit to the Morgan factory this morning, that might be somewhere near you? Brought back happy memories of walking across the Malverns on Sunday afternoons and tea afterwards in a little tea shop where they gave the dog a bowl of water. Happy memories
DD re your seminars there are such things as free lunches
DFV thank you for the wibblezaps, they'll hopefully kick in very shortly. Well done for resisting the jug, my rather too big collection is overloading the kitchen dresser. Congrats on the windfall, or should I say waterfall!

5. Watching daytime television with mixed feelings. Some utter drivel, some iffy, one or two documentaries away from the more popular programmes very interesting. Don't think I'll make a habit of it though
6. Yellow thing has been lingering for two/three days. Wish I had the oomph to mow the lawn!

Afternoon, one more week to go :j
Pleasures for Wednesday
1. Another working from home day. Still haven't caught up though
2 watched farm thing on TV and did knitting
3 got some washing dried (nearly) on line
4 booked DDs first driving lesson
5 made 2 lots of soup, and an apple and pear crumble and some bread, using stuff up for tea
And yesterday
1 day off, started with a swim. In the showers a lady said "isn't this a lovely thing to do. We have done something positive with our day already." What a lovely way to think of it
2 went to friends for coffee., and to approve of her new kitchen that she had to have after the last one was ruined when the dishwasher caught fire
3 did ald! Shopping
4 had smoked mackerel salad for lunch, followed by a piece of smoked mackerel - think I must have needed some omegas
5 went to see mr Cumberbatch in Frankenstein last night at the cinema. Odd watching a play on the big screen.
And today
1 got to work in half an hour, unbelievable
2 penultimate Friday from hell, teaching was ok
3 forgot to put on make up  luckily I had emergency mascara and eyeshadow. Made it do
4 helped a student who was panicking over his dissertation presentation
5. Home
Have a nice evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Smallest cat hit by a car at 5pm. :-(
Neighbour (that one...) put her in cat box. Quick trip to the vets. X rays tomorrow if she doesn't improve.0 -
Frith - oh no! I really hope she's OK.
sparrer - it's great to hear you sounding a bit brighter.
1) Took a packed lunch to work, for the second time this week. :money:
2) Yellow stuff nearly all day, and it was tolerably warm at lunchtime, too.
3) Watched a gentleman in the supermarket car park Reverbing 5p, which is almost as pleasurable as doing it myself.
4) Fishcakes for dinner - RTC ones, of course! :money:
5) The CH has just clicked on, and thanks goodness as I'm losing the feeling in my fingers typing this!
I'm off to a new part of Southampton for an OU tutorial tomorrow morning - if you never hear from me again you'll know I've got lost!Have a great evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!0 -
McHags, loving the upbeat post.
DforV congrats on the massive CS willpower.
I am gradually lifting myself out of a bit of a unproductive funk, feeling the want to hibernate really..
1.I managed to fill a bin bag up with clothes, another 2 bin bags to go, their life maybe animal bedding then rubbish / thus saving on some washing loads as well.:p:p
2.Cooked a proper BLT in a nice warm ciabatta.:D
3.Remembered to drop a repeat prescription in.
4.I tried to use the new local lidl, but it doesn’t work for me:o I wanted to use it when we just need bread and milk, but ended up with a fleece and light bulbs and odds and sods, and not really the food I wanted my wallet will be better off sticking to MrT, not words I ever thought I would type.
5. Hovered and cleaned the upstairs, but ahem it was very overdue as I wasn’t up to date on it.:o:o
6. DH ordered in 4 new all-terrain winter tyres yesterday, and went round the corner to get them fitted today, they are very busy it was slightly organised chaos over there, and he ended up helping them out, which was in turn reflected in the price, which don’t get me wrong is still very expensive but a pleasant surprise to be charged a fair bit less for helping out. we also helped with sales as our tyres were noticeably better. DH is extremely happy he got to help put on massive dumper truck tyres, the old fashioned by hand way, brute force and swearing. But he was glad he only did the one, they had another 5 to fit on.
7. Making cauliflower and broccoli in a cheese sauce as a main. raiding the freezer for something to accompany it.:rotfl:
8. I know it sounds daft to be happy with a new tumble dryer, but it’s so called A plus rated, so should help a little, it’s so so quiet, and after 2 years of hellish noisey tumble drying this is bliss.:):)0 -
