Vicky I've pinched your recipe and replaced the apple with rhubarb. Rather delicious!

Quick pleasures from my phone :
Chat with mum and friend on phone this morning

Productive day of washing/ ironing. Hoovering , bathrooms . Tidied my office and cleaned under my kitchen sink too! Wrote a list and ticked everything off it!

Popped up to library , hoping to renew book that I'm reading but it's on hold so will need to either read quicker or remember what page I am on!
They have a magazine swap box so picked up 2 current magazines from there.

Post office for stamps and very friendly customer service.

Popped into charity shop , not been in for a couple of weeks and got a pair of jeans ( look new and will be perfect for my holiday ) and a top that will be perfect if the weather ever warms up! Both 1/2 price.

Tidied out my wardrobe and drawers ,

Made delicious spicy pumpkin and lentil soup ( using my 50c pumpkin piece) served with RTC part baked rolls, followed by very tasty rhubarb sponge/ crumble or rhubarb scrumble!
Also made choc chip cookies whilst oven was on.

Hoping for proper Internet by Wednesday ... They keep changing the date after saying our address doesn't exist!

    Have a lovely day :)
  • Well went in with differing names yesterday in the Scrabble. Finished on Aliases!

I note me style of Sunday Lunch, Chips, Fish and Mushy peas is spreading. Hop it was Homemade, not that Captains stuff. Minds me of the apprenticeship at FindUs a better job. When we played them at Football, you showed your studs. And DD, yes the pud was good, all made with Fresh Lumpy Custard. Now I has add people on the street stop me and enquire how can I make Fresh Lumpy Custard. I tell them it is easy, you just add lumps to the custard, and that is it.

Oh, and good to see the beavers still at work. Mine section has not run since Jenny was fitted. I could do it single handed when Ms Whack had cancer, but not when I ...

    Beard rubs to all.

Thought of that when I put the ducks into the bath yesterday. Loads of bubbles as well, from Ms Whacks relax bottle. You cannot has a bath unless there are bubbles everywhere. And it was toe nail curdling day as well. Not a pleasure for sum that, but apparentlty I left a few toe cudling bits on the floor! As I has bad eyesite, I of course cannot see them.

Names in this post are not altered. It is well too late for that.

5 Back to work week, with claw sarnies with extra crunch. Crabbing about. Fruit Salad, oranges and chocolate biscuits. All part of the 5 a day.

4 We are still currently catless. Ms BoP is beside herself.

    3 dom is easily lost.

2 gether with Ms Whack last nite. No film, but watch Festival of remembrance. Shame there was too much on Scampton Wallahs. Oops, forgot. Waddington was the most bombed village in the 2nd World War, with the church being destroyed on 8th May 1941. Long before the loss of a dog. Minded me that they had the top half of Linclon, from the Stonebow. We had the rest.

  • Good evening all !

Vicky A - welcome back !!Lovely puds .

Mhagster - you are certainly keeping busy .Does it feel weird saying "when I go on holiday" , when holiday is in the UK? I just wondered as I am a nosy chicken

Dundee - Reverbing a squid . Well done you .

    5 for today

    1. Work was a day full of team meetings. The day flew past.

    2. One of my colleagues is growing a tash for M*vember - he looks like a dodgy '70's p*rn star .Which I naturally had to mention,to which he replied "you should know!":rotfl:

    3. Hhhmmm . Lots of over the top adverts for the C. word were on during DownTun last night. Made me think how very excessive the whole thing is when you see the devastation caused by the Typhoon and so many of the people there have nothing. Not a pleasure , just a perspective. Now I see why you gave up the old license BoP.

4.Cauliflower and broccoli cheese for tea, using stuff up.

5.Bought home a huge bag of shredded paper from work for the hens nesting box.Had to check out that it wasn't breaching "data in transit" stuff . The hens were in when I got in so I replaced all the bedding and they are all snuggled up together for the night:D

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    1) Isis was up at 5.45 this morning playing with her ball  but quickly decided it was too early even for her and came back to bed until a slightly more civilised hour!

    2) Wore my poppy earrings to work - attractive, seasonal and charitable. :D

    3) Popped out at lunchtime to get some petrol for my poor, half-starved car and managed to get a space back in the office car park on my return.

    4) HM soup for lunch, although it got some rather dubious looks from my colleagues - tomato, yellow pepper and orange lentil produces a mixture which looks rather unappetisingly like baby sick. _pale_ :rotfl:

    5) Ordered myself some anti-allergy tablets online, where six months' supply costs less than one months' supply from the chemist. :money:

    6) The flatteringly panicked look from my line manager when I asked for a reference for the job I'm applying for - I had to reassure her that I'm most unlikely to get it before she would calm down!

    7) Not very OS but I've reset the CH to come on half an hour earlier, and it's so much nicer now. :)

    8) Sorted out another batch of cashback from a website - best part of £40 will be landing in my account soon. :money:

Looks like I can't count tonight - oh well! ;)
Back after a very long break!

    Evening everyone. :)

    My five pleasures for Monday:

    1. Quiet time to myself when both DSs were out at work late afternoon.

    2. Spent ages deciding on buying just one ball of Rowan Alpaca and Merino mix lace weight wool. I've never knitted lace before and I thought that I'd have a go at making my mum a little scarf for Christmas. It's so fine that one ball should apparently be more than enough. Next challenge is to decide on the main stitch and then something else for the edging. :D

    3. Little egg custard tart with a cuppa mid-afternoon. :D

    4. Some fantastic radio drama today - I feel so lucky that we have free access to such lovely stuff.:T

    5. Good reminiscence-type chats with my DSs over supper. We did some wonderful things as a family when they were younger. It was good to be reminded of some of them.

    Sweet dreams

    Evening

    Pleasures for today

    1. NSD, though lunch time was spent planning what I intend to spend tomorrow. Debenhams are doing a 20% off and friend gets 20% staff discount plus an extra 10% this week. So hopefully will get last of the C shopping done at a bargain price.
    2. Packed lunches made for everyont today and all looked healthy and tasty.
    3. Free baby toy in the post which will go towards present for new step nephew due any time now.
    4. Soggy walk home tonight but enjoyed the fresh air after being stuck in the office all day
    5. Spiced pear and cranberries in my porridge this morning which was yummy.

Hugs to all who need them

    2. had a cuppa with DD this morning
    3. snoozed between bathroom visits this afternoon
    4. two friends, both with problems, phoned for comfort chats
    5. Rooted through the cupboards and don't have to buy any ingredients for making a friend's birthday cake on Wednesday.

    Sweet dreams :)
