CCP - yay, a new kitty xx

DD - poor you :( I have dodgy EustonStations as well, flying always beggars me up, hope you get better v. soon. Oh, and silly girl, we all love you to bits xx :)

DFV - buy your little darlings the Monopolgy card game - it's brilliant! You get to be nasty from the first hand, and it also takes less time to play and, I know it's a bit sacrilegious to say it, but is more fun, despite not having the doggie, the iron, the boot or the racing car!!!

    1. Less tiring day :)

    2. Lovely chats with lovely people :)

    3. Did small group teaching and really loved it, they were all superstars and I felt like they learned loads :)

    4. DD was up before I left, so we got to have a quick cuddle :):):):)

    5. Went out to a great, if slightly geeky, night - Latin and Greek anyone?! :)

    6. Popped into uni library on a long detour home and took out some much needed books, just need to find time to read them now!

    7. It's Friday tomorrow!!!

Quick pleasures for today (how did it get to be so late again?)

    1) Both sons had a good day at school.

    2) Had to laugh at the newsletter from smaller son's school. This is the first urban school any of us has been to (including high schools!) and is in not perhaps the most salubrious area. It was a failing school for a few years but is OK now. Anyway, the newsletter very politely highlighted that "although mornings can be a stressful time" that parents refrain from swearing and shouting when parking or on the school grounds!! Perhaps the next newsletter could ask them all to stop smoking walking up the driveway and it would be perfect.

    3) Spent the morning at home tidying up and did all the ironing.

    4) Back to school at 2 for the big meeting. High school has now been chosen (same sort of autism base as he is in now) - lets hope he gets a place.

    5) Tasty tea of pasta and broccoli in cheese sauce with some little slices of yesterday's gammon.

    6) Smaller son's school disco! It was held in a hotel. Lots of running about and hitting balloons by sons. Then came the quiz. We entered under our usual team name then watched the bloke next to us checking EVERY answer on his mobile phone. So we changed our team name to "Team Bubbles cheated by checking everything on their mobile phones" :-)

    7) A good chapter of Harry Potter.

    8) Smaller son has a teacher training day tomorrow so we don't have to be up quite as early as normal. We'll be off to Worcester for the day then it is half term.

Started a post and then abracadabra it disappeared! It's Friday :)

Grocery shopping, watched trashy but true film over lunch time , made a chilli and macaroni cheese for Halloween tea ( DD2 said her friend doesn't like those things....tough! ) , lots of cakes and goodies, got a tax refund ...not a lot but better in my bank than the governments .

Hovered around the bakery department like a stalker waiting on the croissants being reduced. I've no idea why they are so expensive here but got them half price :)

Going to watch last weeks Downton and do a massive ironing at the same time.....then a gaggle of girlies will arrive for tea...wish me luck!

broomstick here is the recipe , it's from The primrose bakery book

Stew 300 g chopped rhubarb, 3 tbsp sugar,250 ml water

Once fruit starts to break up, strain off the juice and keep heating that until it's a syrup of 50mls ( this goes in icing)

    Sponge
    110g unsalted butter
    225g golden caster sugar
    2 large eggs
    150g SR flour
    125g plain flour
    1 tsp ground ginger
    80ml milk
    300g stewed rhubarb

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, add half of flour, then milk, then flour then last of milk. Add rhubarb.
It says it makes 12 cakes, I got 24!

180oC or gas mark 4 for 25 minutes.

    Icing
    110g unsalted butter
    500g icing sugar
    50 mls rhubarb juice.

Eat and enjoy! Very yummy but I am partial to rhubarb and we have a great crop in the garden this year but it is something available all year round here!

CCP looking forward to meeting your new cat.I miss my cats but lots of areas over here you are not allowed cats or they must be indoors/ in a pen as they kill lots of indigenous birds and small animals.

lovefullshelves we've just signed up for home broadband ...have been managing( struggling!!) using our phones for 3 years. But very expensive compared to UK. ....but we did get the best deal :)
Can't wait to have unlimited internet .

Going into work tomorrow ....better not sleep in!

Off to iron and watch Downton! have a great day :)

Oi, CCP We want a picture of your Pu$$y.

Gosh, did want to say that.

:p is all I can say to that!

For those who asked nicely, here's Isis - it's not a great photo as she refused to sit still for a picture, and is taken through the gate as she just rubs round the camera if you try to do it with the door open!

I will do my pleasures for yesterday quickly as I've got a computer for the time being (it's a library one, hence the 'quickly'):

    1) Pleasant drive through the autumn countryside to reach the CPL site, although it became less pleasant when the road deteriorated into an unpaved woodland track and I realised just how badly lost we were! My little Olop stood up well to being asked to act as a 4-wheel drive, though, and we found our way back to civilization in the end!

    2) Lunch in a pleasant little coffee shop / cupcake bakery, and I bought a couple of cupcakes to take away with me - not very OS but very tasty!

    3) Cats! I will confess (although perhaps not to her face :o) that Isis wasn't my first choice, but the one I liked best dislikes other cats and wouldn't be happy in my road, where every other house has one or more cats. :( I thoroughly enjoyed a cuddle with her, though, and with several others, before settling on Isis as my new companion. :D

    4) Found my way back to the main road far more easily, thanks to directions from the lady at CPL, and my DF has agreed to come with me next weekend to offer another pair of eyes to help find the right turning next time!

    5) Dinner out with my DM in the evening, using a voucher of course. :money:
Back after a very long break!
  • Wow CCP, that is sum Bat Cage. Does it fit in the car?
    Mhags What is a g?

    Proper cocoa, tastes of bitterness

Bit miff day, but plod on.

Met Mike a couple of years back. perhaps you knew him as well. Smart lad, own company. has a villa in France. Adores his villa and those that know him.

1 Boy, I had a thiorst last nite and a couple of wobbleades as well!

5 Amazing what happens on the grape vine. Al;ways gets back does it. Just that someone complained at the salt mine about my time keeping. Shirley! Tuff job I do keep my own record, but manoeuvre into a false desktop and snare the them we shall. Same happened to a colleague in last mine shaft. Took about three weeks for the bait to take. Interesting that I keep a record of jobs and activities. You never know when it come in handy.

2 Them in the corner, do you was your hands. You could not be bothered yesterday, COULD YOU.

3 Pleased last nite that the lad who misfortune had a chance to hit, at last worked out. I alwys tell people that photography is a creative juice, hic slurps wobbleade as swell, it is you that creates the image. I say you get up, get down, get dirty. And speak to three others, because we all may have something different to offer. Then you know you are listened to. Some just put a picture in to take part. No matter, but one amongst us last eve, their picture was different to the normal of their ilk. And it got commended. As for nebby NeyBore, he got a second and a third. But in a class of three!

4 And I got a first, See, I ams back, after two years on the road. Sweep the path, I is back. Glug n Gloat. Maybe the name of a pub that.

Oh, and that you sweep into the corner! Mike He had a breakdown from his afore. His picture last night got commended. Probably the best moment he has had in the last few years!

Now, that spoon heap of sugar has that made your cocoa that much sweeter?

Now, with the corn in me teeth. I has seen CCP's PuSSy

Offski now, to help people beginning their creative juice, Club creative night. If you are around later, maybe I pop back
