    Cat day hooray ccp
    bannocks nom nom
mhags i'm coming over for some tablet right now :P
hope the meeting went well frith
DD is having a hot and steamy day. Just been to doctors as cold is no better and ears have been gunked up nearly a week. I have Eustachian tube dysfunction apparently. He's suggested having a bowl of hot water under my conk so that's what i'm doing. The only time my ears have worked properly was when I was up in the air sunday evening, but soon as we landed they gunked again. meetings are impossible! so here's my 5
    1) listening to classicfm with my own cosy earphones
    2) went to opera Tuesday with 2 friends (Rodalinde Handel Scottish National Opera) very good and at £16 a ticket absolute bargain. The travelling SNO is very cut down - Macbeth had one mad pianist, Tuesday was a violinist (who also played the nickelharpa, new one to me), harpsichord and cello and the opera opened with a shadow show in a giant pollock's theatre. totally brilliant
    3) Went for my tea with a couple of friends last night. xoh says am i avoiding her? hmmm well things are a bit unfriendly again so maybe. but tea was lovely and not too expensive.
    4) friends both real and virtual. i may not have anyone in love with me but i am truly loved :D
    5) my cosy bed - can't wait to be reunited with it. you may remember i bought all new bed-linen (in the sale so mse) and i just love my bedroom. xoh is constantly amazed at how tidy it is compared to hers. um yes well now we know who really makes the mess rofl.

    A subjacent love song

Oh sweet Concorde plane, oh sweet Concorde plane.
Hounded and grounded, you'll not fly again.
What fantastic journeys we took, you and I,
Me in my daydreams and you in the sky.

Mach 1 then Mach 2, golly, weakness of joy,
The speed of a rocket, the grace of a boy.
London to New York you took in your stride
Though the headroom was cramped and the gangway not wide

With food served on Wedgwood you pandered to those
Whose time was too precious or just liked to pose.
Your record on safety was second to none
Till a lesser plane thwarted your sound-breaking fun

Your days on the A list, they won't come again.
There's tears on your wind-screen, or is it just rain?
You're just an exhibit. You welcome aboard
The snap-happy tourists, the school party hoard.

Around us are spitfires and biplanes afar,
Above us the night sky with one twinkling star,
And here on my right is the plane of my choice
With the tilt of her nose and the roar of her voice.

And can I believe it's ten years since you flew
With your short-handled silver and smartly-dressed crew?
I'll sit in the pub at 6 once again
And there I will drink to you, sweet Concorde plane.

In memory of Concorde, whose last flight was 24th October 2013

    DFV Butter the up/
    CCP Paws 4 fort!

Just having a super boo gar me day.

3 Do not often larf too much, but the Audi this morning whom wanted to cut into the lane for the M4 West at Almondsbury. Yes you left it late, but because of your implied arrogance, I just lifted the foot every so slightly, this causing a few seconds delay in your journey, as the single lane slewed under the M5.. Which, given the current state of affairs on the road in that vicinity, is marginal. So when the opportunity arose for you to inflict some boot to your pedal, you gracefully flew past. Except your vision was impaired by the clear passage, the dazzling brilliance of the police car coming from Bristol way was missed. So nice that you took time to reminisce with the officer a little further along your journey! Boo gar me!

4 All others around the Parish. Just take a look. Get up from the chair and see what is behind you, over there. Just like the spoonful of sugar you put into your morning coffee

5 Naturally, I continued to drive bees at reckless speeds, full in the knowledge that the officers of the law where gainfully deployed. Boo gar me. Note, BoP does not condone speeding, your actions should you happen to go fast, are your concern not mine. If you cannot read my number plate it is not because I am getting away from , Ms Whacjski has not been bothered to clean the thing recently.

1 When you take a step back, you are able to appreciate more of the beauty!

2 Nite is camera club. Nebby neighbour will be there in a class of his own. So he will win his print section. Nless of course my pictures win.

Of course when the Parsi were expelled from their lands, their Chief was told by the King of the area they had gone to, that their state was full and could not take anymore immigrants. The Chief grabbed a cup of milk from the table, and heaped a spoon of sugar into the milk. He told the King. ‘We are like the sugar in your milk. You will not notice our presence, but we will soothe the bitterness.’ And so it is true, that the Kingdom become sweeter for their contribution. Just as their descendants have to our lives!

Guess that the reminiscing driving never had time to put the sweetness of the jam into the porage this morning!

Now I am having the Thursday Bee Sting Curry, with added crunch!
    And still catless

Edit DD popped in. Is it really 10 years!!!
  • Good evening all !

CCP - oooh did you or didn't you ??Dying to know.

DD- yep you are truly ,truly loved :D As you are a teeny bit crackers like the rest of us on here :rotfl: Re Euston Station Tubes - they hurt when blocked /infected ouch !

    5 for today

    1. Work ok, lengthy case conference which had a positive outcome and was thanked for my input which makes a change !

    2. After work popped to GP surgery very near my work place which now has a pharmacy on site. Got my steroid ear drops which are usually out of stock in B**ts . All in all took about 7 minutes and lovely GP gave me two bottles on one script as its an ongoing issue . So no stamp as ordered online, no wait as its on site and two bottles of medicine for the price of one.

    3. Took the tiny terrier out so that she could throw herself around in the mud in the park. I have NO idea why my DM has cream carpets !

    4. Suggested OH picks up fish and chips for tea as each item is a quid and CBA to cook.

    5. Day off tomorrow :D

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Skint yet Again - free Will pack?! Where?!
Broomstick - googling Summer Naturals pronto!
Frith - I do admire the sounds of this school! Yeay Harry (we swapped tips on how to sneak Harry Time on the nursery steps!)
Kittikins - any lesson you can walk away from is a good start! Well done with backgammon - mine play Very Loud Monopoly.
mhagster - you make tablet too? Formidable mixing arm you must have! (love the elderlies who recognise tablet, take pills & view these computers as dubious!) Rhubarb cupcakes?!
Chickenopolis - enjoy the balti! Very glad to hear GP surgery working with you.
CCP - fingers and toes crossed you have been found!
DD - amongst the hotels are there no steam rooms? Plus fluids, you *can* bake out some bugs... Love the sound of travelling SNO! You're a Concorde fan too?
BoP - ‘We are like the sugar in your milk. You will not notice our presence, but we will soothe the bitterness.’ Beautiful!
Purple Kitten - there's a lot of OS goodness in the kitchen. Hoping yellow dinner helps fight off cold!

    OS Pleasures

Found a 50 pence coin in the carpark - taken the Celestial Hint, bought the Mirror & will take the tribe to Aldi this weekend. Mushrooms for a big fryup, peppers for wraps & chillis, apples & satsumas because they're there (& I'll eat them if the gannets won't), fresh tomatos for soups and sauces & kiwi fruit for the amazing green!

Got in a bit earlier than usual & watched in awe as seeing eye dog briskly brought her handler to the door, then steered him up the steps to the lift! Didn't know we *had* a staff dog! (Checked - rules are clear - dog at work - do not disturb even to croon. Pity!)

Scouts tonight! (Must go find what my sizes are in uniform so can buy them at Camp Shop & save...)

Youngest joined me at breakfast this morning, thinking I was a burglar. Laid down the broom & seized me in a long hug!

Colleague has opened a new pack of Real Coffee. I can smell it! I'll still be drinking tea, but the smell of coffee is nice.

Big hugs to all who need them!

    Evening all.
CCP Well done to Isis for choosing you!
DD I still have the Pollock's Toy Theatre I played with as a child - such a precious toy and lovely to be reminded of it.
mhagster Can you post the rhubarb cupcake recipe? I really like rhubarb.:D

    My five pleasures for Thursday:

    1. Seeing a cloud formation as I was driving along that looked just like a hand making a huge thumbs up sign. Very cheering :D

    2. Yummy scrambled egg for supper.

    3. Putting the Rotaire into action again - I have 12+ extra loads of washing to do over half term in addition to all our usual stuff.

    4. Sitting and catching up with sewing mending while listening to Vanity Fair narrated by Stephen Fry (on iplayer).

    5. Not quite a pleasure yet but it will be very soon so I suppose the anticipation can be the pleasure... the hottie I am taking to bed with me tonight. :)

    Sweet dreams
