    WARNING!!

Kittikins please don't do as I did and pour the pan of water down the sink before you take out any small items, chains etc. At midnight I was undoing the waste pipe under the sink to see if the heavy silver chain had settled in the u-bend . Fortunately it had, and fortunately my daring as a first-time plumber has probably saved me a lot of money, but the very least I should have done (in retrospect, of course ) was pour them from the pan into a sieve or colander.
And also fortunately there's no leak under the sink this morning and nothing in the bucket I placed there overnight :D.

1 for now. Driving back from the shops this morning I was behind a car with tinted windows at the traffic lights. There was a circle the size of a dinner plate left untinted in the rear window, and a GSD looking out. Good to know we're not the only ones who are animal crackers!

    Yellow thing is here! :)

    Evening all.

Hooray, I'm back, and with a renovated second hand computer in true OS style. :D
CCP - she is a cutey ! Did she choose you iyswim?

I think so - when I walked away to do the paperwork she fell over and stuck an imploring paw under the gate to try and get me to come back, so I think she likes me. :D

CCP Isis is adorable. Did you know that 31st is National Black/Black & White Cat Day? You've kicked it off with a good start for CP :). (Must ask why they dropped the 'League').

I didn't know that - poor Isis has been there for several months and they think the only reason she hasn't been chosen before now is because she's a 'boring' colour. How anyone can look at that face and listen to that miaow (yes, I've got another talkative one!) and think she's boring I can't imagine!

BoP - that was nearly a disaster there, wasn't it? Thank goodness the bottles didn't get damaged in the storm!

    Right, pleasures for yesterday:

    1) Day off, so I had a nice lie-in.

    2) Got my OU assignment back (looks like my tutor is less laid-back about marking than he seems, thank goodness) and the mark's good if not exceptional (bearing in mind that my idea of 'exceptional' is strictly over 90%, being something of a perfectionist :o).

    3) Free internet access at the library, although they made me jump through a few hoops to get it. :undecided

    4) Got Isis registered at the vet (the same one that looked after Moggett so well, of course), and took back some of his old medication to be safely destroyed.

    5) Fancied pizza for dinner, and found a RTC one in the supermarket which did the trick nicely once jazzed up with some HG chillies.

    And for today:

    1) Ordered a new pooter and it was ready, complete with all the files and settings from my old one, within a few hours. It's good, too - so fast and so quiet compared to my old one.

    2) Took a load of stuff up to the tip, making room for Isis' litter tray amongst other things, and drove the scenic route back. (No, I didn't get lost in my own city, honest... :o:o:o)

    3) Had a lazy afternoon, sitting on the sofa listening to the rain and reading a cheap book on my kindle.

    4) Isis has vanished from the CP website (you're quite right, sparrer - no 'L' on the end any more), so she's now officially mine. :D

    5) Going to treat myself to a takeaway tonight and, as it's raining and I'm feeling exceptionally lazy, I'm going to ask them to deliver it. Not OS, I know, but I only do it very occasionally! :o

Have a good evening all, and let's hope BoP's tree is the only one to get blown over in the forthcoming storms!
Back after a very long break!

Dear ccp - your Isis is doppelganger to our dear little mummy-at-not-quite-5-months Squeak as was, 30 years ago, along with the imploring and hopeless miaowing beseechings. We all acquired ringwom too, but anything, to get her away from the top floor Belsize Park swill pit that housed her, and too many others. Clothespeg>nose.....
Was it deliberate, we often wondered afterwards? That 'Oh not her, she won't last' and a foot-swipe?
What a loving and lovable little Mummy she was though, so full of ott affection in a 'can't believe my luck' sort of way.
Joy and happiness to you both and yes, if she's been left so long, it IS right that she now reigns solo as Princess/Queen in your heart and home.

    Might get back later.

    Evening all.

    My five pleasures for Saturday:

    1. Pretty straightforward drive into and back from London today. Wasn't looking forward to Saturday half-term traffic but it was fine.

    2. Wonderful formations of birds - no idea what they were but they were flying in huge swirling flocks, getting caught in the wind currents and weaving to and fro high above the motorway.

    3. Put all the wet washing on the line first thing. It rained several times in the day apparently and it was dry when I brought it in at seven. :D This washing line cover is just fantastic. I'm in love. :D

    4. Both DSs made me/us supper because I'm rather wiped out and feeling headachy. (Nothing to do with being in love!) Not the meal I would have chosen but it was hot and on a plate and infront of me - very grateful.

    5. DS1 was really fed up about something this afternoon and came and found me and talked for ages until he felt better. I love it that my sons will still do this in their late teens/early 20s.

    Sweet dreams

  • Good evening all !

    CCP - aaawwwh that's lovely .

LFS - well done you for supporting your mate to get their pension.

    5 for today

    1.
Hair cut at 8.30 am . I can see !

    2. Reverbed 2p

    3. My cousin lost her husband 5 months ago, suddenly and horribly. I spent the day at my cousins house helping her daughter who has had RA since she was 14 to fill out her P.I.P form as she needs support to carry out day to day tasks. Weird thing - the hairs (the few that weren't shaved off) on the back of my neck stood up suddenly as did my cousins at the same time and the feeling went over her legs .She said "we are not alone are we?". Err no. ...

    4. Got home cooked HM lasagne (meat for OH and quorn for me)and garlic bread. Very nice

    5. DSis got some half price toys for me to purchase for her grandchildren for Xmas at Mr.S.

    Have a good evening all
