Re writing this as I’ve just lost it not sure if it’s our connection at the moment.
Chicken / VJsMum: I did laugh at the colour dinner, I am guilty of yellow curry and yellow rice dishing it up thinking hmmm. Ops.
Really enjoying reading your pleasures Ampersand, your cheer is truly shining through.
1.Counting down to working from home as getting to and fro work is literally taking 4 hours:eek:, but pleasure is there is a wfh home day to aim for.
2.Had a fair bit of interest in my cv today, even a job that was due to start Monday if I wanted but I wouldn’t do that to my current place but it makes me feel positive.:)

3.Got back for 8 rather than come home we went straight to Mr T as I would have got in and passed out, so with our minimal budget I did what I have seen others do, I lined up and asked for my fruit and veg to be reduced which got me 2 punnets of grapes, a punnet of strawberries, lettuce, 12 baking spuds, and coleslaw for a total of 1.44 for the lot, we also lucked out on the meat which was 60p each, as I was checking the cash in the wallet and our vouchers and feeling a bit antsy about having to go shopping (I would have stopped off and just got milk at the corner shop)
4.The ferrets leaping up and down to see me in the living room, or indeed trying to see what hunter gather had returned with that they could have.:rotfl:

Aw bless your son, Frith, they take it all so seriously don't they?
Well done on asking for the reductions PurpleKitten, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Not been here for yonks but here goes

    1. My fave contestant won GBBO
    2. DS and DD doing pictures while watching Deadly 60 Art and calling me in "mummy, you've got to see this scorpion, it's awesome!" (It was!)
    3. Nice text conversation with sister
    4. Chocolate eclair for tea and saving the other one for kids to have while they watch GBBO on iPlayer.
    5. Got lots done at work

Hmm, definitely need to flex my gratitude and living in the moment muscles!
  • VJsmum and PK- yep . Sometimes I think it looks like dolls house dinner :rotfl:VJsmum- I cringe at the quotes , I can see myself writing that sort of stuff.:o

DFV- Nooooo not aspartame ! I don't need an "excuse" or any "help" in that department;)

Mcculloch- I would love to have ridden Angrove S.D. he looks cheeky. I always preferred colts to fillies -much nicer to deal with .

Have a good day all !

Why do French dogs survive grapes & English dogs not?

That got me wondering, too. A bit of research suggests that some dogs are affected more than others, with a few seemingly totally immune to the effects - 'research is ongoing' (which I think translates as "we don't know why"!). I definitely wouldn't let a dog anywhere near grapes after reading up on the subject, though.

A couple of late pleasures for yesterday:

    6) A text from my DM telling me about the storm over her house on the IOW, just as I was about to leave to go to the pub quiz. I decided to get a taxi rather than walking, and was very glad I did when this happened (annoying advert at the beginning - sorry!).

    7) It had stopped by the end of the quiz so I walked home, and was imperiously summoned by a tabby and white cat (known from previous walks along the road), sitting on a wall which put him at my head height, who purred and covered my face with kitty kisses (and filled my mouth with fur, but that's a small price to pay). A nice reminder why I like the creatures! :smileyhea
Back after a very long break!

A brief few from me as I have a headache and am just going to bed.
I've had the laziest day ever and not done very much at all.

Nice chat with friend from home on phone...as always I'm grateful for unlimited calls.
Wandered up to the library in the pouring rain DFV we are nowhere near fires, they are still hot...we are unseasonably cold and wet , watched Holby on YouTube, again grateful to the people who upload these programmes every week.
Started book number 4 in 4 days.
Made chicken curry for dinner, very nice it was too.

Phone call from boss.....I've not heard from you....er, I've kind of been waiting on you calling me! Anyway...looks like we will not be ready at start of next week....now why am I not surprised!

Have a lovely day , night night from me,

Just thought of number 5... Found $2 on the floor at the library but put it in the collection tin for rememberance day.
  • Is a little awkward being able to win game after gamer after game at Scrabble! Just like here, putting your money on the horses and some bring home the bacon. Dancing Horses as well. Good job I am not on the seven seas. As for methods to eek things out, there is only one …. The Plank!

4 Tea on Sunday it will be the second helping of the spotted !!!!!!. And it was made with real butter, instead of the chemical plant stuff. Now, we just found out that the chemical plant stuff is not very good for you. Just remember where you were when you saw the latest spotted !!!!!!, on Sunday

5 All part of the five a day as well.

    B4 I forg

1 Cheque in the post. Check your mirrors.

2 Gether with Ms BoP last night. Strong challenge was maid by her to get even close to beating me. But, I stooped and mislaid my final piece, allowing BoPsie to get rid of all her tiles, and lose by a point. She attempted to check the rules, as always which are held under the bored, that automatically would forfeit the game. So she lost by default and my A remained unplayed. Now you cannot get fare her then that. And we had no pitch invasion as we are still cat less Note as BoPsie does keep score, it has probably been amended already.

3 Porage again. With real chunks and grainy bits. Not that stuff you get at the automated emporium. That is digested with chaff and filler to make it look bad.

  • Good evening all !

CCP - its a moglet omen!

Mhagster- I am sorry to hear that you are having such bad luck at work at the moment .

    5 for today

    1. Site visit cancelled by the company due to a family emergency .I was selfishly hoping for a bit more time to read up on some stuff ,but I hope that all is well their end.

2.Saw a fox sauntering up the street where I live (sounds like a My Fair Lady song ? ) a few doors up at 5pm . Still light . Hens intact as DM has the "baby monitor" in case of any unusual bokking from them.Need to be vigilant.

    3. Making some rtc chicken in a bag balti.I struggle to understand why these things have been invented , but hey ho .

    4. DSisters b/day today and I nearly forgot, remembered at 5.30am. Glad to have a stash of cards in these situations.I had purchased her gift card a while back which was lucky .

    5. Tired tonight so off to bed after I have eaten the chicken thing

Have a good evening all !

    lol am whistling it now.

DFV I really like the bigness of lightning - not scary at all. :D

    My five pleasures for Wednesday:

    1. The Rotaire arrived! Really speedy delivery from the company. It fits our rotary drier exactly and although it was sunny today, DS2 and I put it in place. It's looks good and very well made which is just as well because it's going to be worked to pieces this winter. We have to reduce our heating bills even more and the thing that always throws the best-laid plan is having to dry massive quantities of club sports kit indoors. Fingers crossed.

    2. I got my act together and did a bulk order of cleaning materials (vinegar, bicarb, salt, citric acid etc). Long overdue.

    3. Good chat with my parents on the phone.

    4. Accidentally discovering a really funny blog post that a friend had written in June. I don't normally follow her blog on a regular basis and had missed this one. Made me laugh out loud.

    5. NSD/NPD due to me not getting round to doing the weekly shop. :)

    Sweet dreams
