lovefullshelves - have fun making ginger syrup! (It'll certainly make a change from home made pasta sauce!)
kittikins - more CSLewis? Brilliant! And time with the scout/brownie/rainbow community is always good.
Frith - loving eavesdropping on country life - and escaping ferrets! (and pronounce porridge any way you want!)
mcculloch - risotto has always taken me at least 40 minutes (what on earth does Nigella *do* to her rice, or has she teeth of steel?!)
CCP - hurrah for painted toenails! My sister swears by it as a pick-me-up. Shed dismantled with Bare Hands?!
mhagster - on a sad day, on a sofa, you still manage to see the silver linings - thank you for posting, & big hugs!
VJsmum - Dubai & burj khalifa. Just cor. Then award winning curry (whimpers in envy!)
BoP - love eavesdropping on your scrabble games. Can we set you up versus Martin sometime?!
whitesatin - you've survived! As has your car! Congratulations all round!
Chickenopolis - having a sweepstake on the "what are they going to do" count? (I would!)

    OS Pleasures

Son volunteered to do the ironing. "That's great! You do know I took the plug off the TV?" Beautiful expression of stunned horror & disbelief...

While reading the electricity meter, I stepped on the rake & clumped myself by the eye. My family are still snickering, bless them.

Three family members have asked me for the ginger stuff recipe, which is unexpectedly gratifying. We're all grousing about the cost of fliptop bottles, as it makes the Christmas present aspect more expensive!

A son tidied my collection of stay tea bags, (they followed me home from the travel lodge!), into my work bag. Earl Grey with lemon tomorrow...

Simple fry-up supper from the store cupboard. Plates wiped clean! (Most of my pleasures appear to be food related. Ah well.)

Big hugs to all who need them!

I have visions of creating a building lock down I left a loaf of bread in a bag on a cupboard beside me and er there it still is….:rotfl:
I’m looking for jobs but the perfect one hasn’t arrived just yet.
    Childish pleasure watching Simpsons.:o
    Just had a BOGOF delivery.
Still caravan shopping, hoping by keeping an eye out each day fate will send something our way.
Feeling very sleepy and rather relaxed for no particular reason but it feels good for once.:)

Get well wishes to the poorlies and hugs to everyone

    1. Slept in til 10am. Not OS but a pleasure
    2. Letter from an AVC company which went out of business, I'm to receive a lump sum payment of, wait for it....£34! 13 years of paying in and that's what they've decided my share is. And I've had to wait 9 years for their decision! :rotfl:
    3. nsd/npd
    4. Planted some more bedding and another net of daffies. Three trays and one more net to go, but goodness knows where I'm going to put them as there's not a tub, pot or trough empty now
    5. Collected a margarine tub of cob nuts which have fallen from the tree which overhangs my garden. I have to pick them up daily or they take root in the strawberry bed
    6. Postie brought me a perfume postcard, I tuck the perfume impregnated gauze in my bra so I smell nice - well I can smell it even if no-one else can ;)
    7. Although my lovely friend has gone back to Yorkshire I still have some bits to use up. Dinner this evening was tuna steak and warm beetroot salad. Very yummy

    Sweet dreams :)

Hello! Not long in from work...which was , how shall we put it? Interesting!

For breakfast break I had avocado on toast and as I worked later I had minestrone soup for lunch.

Nice chat with OH, MIL and SIL this morning ...they ran me through their day.

Nice chat with friend from home this morning.

Reading a nice book, just want to sit and read it. This was from a bag of withdrawn library books I bought about 2 years ago !

No cakes from work today but did bring home a couple of last months glossy magazines that were finished with. I will look forward to reading them.

We have tenants moving into our house back home today, so hoping that they will look after my house! The rental income will be very welcome as poor sons uni fund is very empty !!

Do have a lovely Wednesday :)

ETA ...just to say last night at the same time as FIL's funeral , we lit a candle in front of a photograph of him , played the same music that was being played and had a big group hug! With my children...love ' em to bits !

Went to sleep at 10 yesterday so didn't update! I don't like doing it the next day as I can't remember what happened, but here goes...

    1) Smaller son to school OK. When he comes out he always says it is amazing and names the children he likes. As the evening wears on, he gets more and more negative about it until he ponders whether he is going to go back. :-/ The staff are pleased with him, though!

    2) Bigger son had a day off due to the strikes. We got a lot done. He made a massive quantity of marrow soup and we dismantled the bunkbed and put the new one up. They've had the same (very) second hand one for 8 years, really nice to have something better in there.

    3) All animals still alive at mum and dad's. They are coming back today.

I'm sure there probably were 5 pleasures but I can't recall them now.
  • Doing me dog rolls again, so crunching and munching, while mincing your words. Now Frith, I does think that Farage would put me offs me porage!
BoP - love eavesdropping on your scrabble games. Can we set you up versus Martin sometime?!
Now, a scrabble championship between the privateer of the boreds and big chief MSE. Thinks it will be a little cut throat, I will sharpen up my cutlass and see.

5 Our tiger, free to a good home, is off to the vet today. He has been hyperventilating and a quick look on the net says he could be pregnant. Think not, and hiss balls were chopped a few years back now. So I am offs home early to whisk him into the bat box and vet.

4 Do not nose what Ms BoPsie will do without cat. She went two minutes once, before we got Tiger! Any suggestions? Please note, BoP does not pay for cats. They eat you out of homes and mouse.

3 No scrabble last night, watched on line, TV Tax free, University challenge. I won. Overall though, since April, it is 44 wins for me and 12 for Ms BoPsie, so I am not as un kind as some peoples thinks I am. By the way, I did taster mince pies and jam tarts the other day, all hand rubbed by BoP, as well as the Spotted !!!!!!. Now I am sure I did 8 mince pies and I have eaten 1. There were 4 decent tarts. Now this morning I has the last tart, so I am expectant of a mince pie for tomorrow. Guess what, they is all gone. Now, I cannot see the birds eating them just yet.

2 gether with ms BoPsie again tonight. She campaigns that she should had been on her 5th hubby by now, but, why would she want to …

1 Met a guy nearly 34 years ago. He harked about the fight being over, yet the system would continue. Just like still reading my book on Churchill. Over half way through now, and it has been quite enlightening. The synchronous of the conferences are good, especially the bits about lend-lease and repayment. When asked about repayments starting in 1943, WC retorts I haven’t worked out the bill for 1939 to 41 yet! Such a pity our post war government failed to do so, and pollicised our health service instead!

Cor, I do not nose what I am barking on a bit here. No. For all we want to change the world, some keep the same. Suppose as an engineer, we look for solutions. To thinks we have nearly all the solutions! Well, I suppose being shot at in a Charlie One Thirty, while dropping food to the rich enlightens you. Food to the rich, as we could not drop it onto people’s heads. The poor and the in need were too weak at that stage to get to the food, so relied on their richer brethren.

We can now grow disease resistant crops, and feed the world. But I query why an organisation that was not on the ground in 1984, is against GM crops. Is that because it wants the world to remain in poverty, so it can lavish itself in their destitution? The system goes on. Ethiopia before all that. Oh, and the only people on the ground were Medicine sans Frontiers

We have the need for energy, yet so much greenwash. Coal, though considered dirty, employed manpower. Yet, now as smart meters can be deployed, would those who advocate us all having windmills, welcome being shutoff when their choice of generation is not able to keep up the demand?

And what about medicine. It keeps me going, ticking over, yet some feel that we should not!

My time on this planet is finite, it will come to an end, so whatever you do, do not exit earlier through your own selfishness. As was explained to me in Saudi. You can only remove the repeat offender. I suppose the lady at the level crossing so highlighted today, will get a second chance.
    Cyclomaniac!

In life, there is no second chance, so get on with it.
