Evening
Will keep it brief, pleasures for the last couple of days.
1. DD is home after having a good time at parents. DM was a bit sad to see her come home but at least she got there for some time this summer.
2. Food shopping for the week came in at half the grocery budget
3. Treat inlaws to dinner on Friday night wasn't MSE but very nice
4. Domestic goddess this morning, got washing on the line, batch of muffins made, Hm bakewell tart, HM tomato, herb and wine sauce made and a pineapple chopped prepared and all before 9am
5. DD happy as made one of her favourite dinners of roast turkey and gammon with saute potates, veg and y. Puddings. Then bakewell to finish. Both the turkey and gammon were RTC so what looked like an expensive dinner was in reality really cheap.
Hugs to all who need them and hoping this MSE lets me post this time.0 -

Not only am I losing posts so doing this on word to c/p, I'm also losing my mind - more than usual.
I want an early night so let the pets out at 9.45pm, then back in at 10pm. Dog comes in as usual, cat is sitting on the lawn so I'm calling him over and over to no avail. I get some treats and rattle the bag which is a sure-fire way to get him in, but he ignored me completely. Eventually decide I have to go and get him, so walk across the lawn saying 'You lazy mog, fancy having to be carried in!' only to reach 'him' to find I'm talking to a carrier bag!! Well they are both white! Turn round to see mog sitting inside on the doormat, I swear the little monkey was laughing at me.
I'll just go quietly upstairs and lie down in a darkened room

Tired tonight! MrN's dogs started barking at 3am. They do bark occasionally, usually at the muntjacs. Anyway, they barked til 4am, which was odd. Then they started to howl.
Chances of MrN and his 4 youngest sons all being away at the same time were slim. By 4.30 I wondered if the dogs were letting me know there was some sort of emergency. So I texted MrN - nothing. Perhaps he had fallen down the stairs?
4.50am I got into MrN's house using the spare key, hair nearly standing on end in case I found him in a crumpled heap or a burglar jumped out at me! Fed the dogs a massive amount and came home to bed. Turns out MrN was staying at his parent's and the person he had asked to look after the dogs had forgotten! Couldn't really get back to sleep after that.
Pleasures for today
1) Bacon sandwiches for breakfast.
2) Bigger son went to New Rd to watch the cricket with my brother and sister plus brother in law. Oh, and brother's neighbour and his son and grand daughter! Sounded good and they got to play about on the pitch during the break.
3) Smaller son and I went to a National Trust property and found 6 geocaches. :-)
4) Curry, rice and naans for tea.
5) My school friend came over.
That's it - off to bed in a minute!0 -
Also keeping it brief as threads are playing silly burgers
Awake at 4.50, not a pleasure, but did have time to catch up some TV and various websites
Soak in the bath. First one for yonks
Bacon sandwich for lunch
Clean kitchen and kids did hoovering
OH due home soon, a last minute hitch on Eurostar meant it was touch and go whether he'd make the last train home. Somehow he made it but it means I've got to try and stay awake till 12.30 to drive to Birmingham international station to pick him up.I wanna be in the room where it happens0
