    .

YES!!!! They were amazing, I don't think I've ever seen storms like them before

Hello all, back in wifi land :D

Pleasures for the last few days

    1 Storms :D
    2 fields full of sunflowers
3 beautiful villages, all like something from a fairy tale. The department was called the Lot, but we where in the east dordogne.
4 canoeing on the river. Something else ticked off the list :T
5 travelling by train, we all feel like we've been away much longer and I think it's because we didnt arrive stressed
6 spending time as a family. Except yestday when the kids annoyed me. Take us for granted sometimes
7 freaky steam train that went along a very narrow ledge.
8 whilst doing 4 I saw a kingfisher. Properly, not just a flash of blue but several seconds flying in the trees:T
9 really loving the sense of community in the villages we've stayed in. I will always remember the sight of half a dozen villagers having an impromptu picnic in the village square and me teaching them to say cheers :D and in the second village, a community arts event every night that loads of people turned out for :T
10 DS sticking his head out of the car window, pretending to be a dog :p

    Mickey tomorrow :T
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Hope you're OK, DD.

Just a quick few pleasures for tonight, am tired out!

    1) A lie in.

    2) Porridge for breakfast.

    3) Got some food shopping - hoorah!

    4) Dropped off the 2 travel bugs we have set up in 2 different geocaches. So sons can track their bugs as they travel the country (or, hopefully, the world). Dropped one at a National Trust place so had a look round there too.

    5) Some interesting post this afternoon. ;-)

    6) Went to games night at my sister's house. Probably the last time we will go in there - she and brother in law are moving to a 3 bedroom house (with garden!) next Friday. :-) Had a couple of hours of dungeons and dragons. Bigger son makes a good dungeon master and we had sister's HM ice cream and we took some doughnuts.

    7) Doesn't seem 2 minutes since sons went to bed. Marathon Harry Potter reading session.

    8) Just set up some wasp traps outside. It's like a plague. I have about 10 raspberry canes and I am seriously considering chopping them off at the ground, just to get rid of the THOUSANDS of wasps swarming around them. They are down the side of the path so you have to brush past them when you go to the door and I keep getting wasps stuck in my hair. :-(

    9) Sister and brother in law are taking bigger son climbing on Saturday.

Better day than yesterday. Bigger son was sarcastic all day and, when we arrived at the council run course they were booked on, they both refused to acknowledge any of the people running it or get out of the car. Very embarrassing for me.

Thank you PK, I get the new supply tomorrow. Will be knocking on the pharmacy door at 8am! Hope you get yours sorted out too
Tealady I'll be adding to my collection too, Candice suede is pulling me toward my debit card. As is Lucille, and at least half a dozen others!
BoP happy for you that you and the current Mrs BoP won't have to be apart from next week

    1. Reading Alan Titchmarsh, I wonder if he sees himself the way he portrays Mr McGregor?
    2. Postie brought me some shopping vouchers for doing surveys, which have gone to join the others toward the C word
    3. Local children playing in the square, I love to see/hear them enjoying themselves in the holidays
    4. Had one of the blueberry muffins with my cuppa this afternoon, delicious
    5. Has to be the yellow thing, keep it going for a few more weeks yet BoP

    Sweet dreams :)

'Tis Friday everybody so hurrah for that !

It's been the wildest night and day here , really high winds and heavy rain all through the night , I woke up at 4 am with the noise of the wind howling around the house but managed to get back to sleep after a while.

Had to get up and dressed and out the door this morning for a meet and greet at new work and a bit of staff training. So everyone seems nice enough and I think we're all looking forward to getting started , however it looks like another week of leisurely ladiness ( and no pay) ensues.

Walked back up to the train station with one of the new girls and sat with her whilst we waited for a train , so that was nice.

Lazy, lazy afternoon on the sofa ....a repeat of new drama that started which I had dozed through on Monday night was on so I stayed awake to watch it!

Finished a book ....started another one but decided it was rubbish so not going to waste my time reading rubbish books.

Have a lovely day and ladies as Martin says ' do you really need those shoes?'

Thanks as always for your kind words and hugs. bop perhaps i can find an engineer who specialises in broken hearts. vjsmum is there a chartered insinuation of such engineer? :rotfl:
Oo frith tracking the geocaches sounds exciting. Do keep us informed of their holibags
sparrer thanks for reminding me it is sometimes absolutely fine to have a good ol' wallow.
    1) yesterday was lunch in berlin (wurst mit brott of course) and supper in dundee
    2) seeing all three children. Dd2 was home briefly to pick up things for a long weekend in dbrovnik, her first flight since her flying for the terrified weekend
    3) finding i have lost another 2.5 pounds while in berlin :D lots of salads, lots of walking. That's 16 pounds since April (i am a stress eater so when my marriage broke up i signed up to slimming world so very happy with that)
    4) having a nice deep bubbly bath - hotel room had a good shower which was ideal for holiday but i do like a good soak every now and then
    5) dd1 had done sterling good work on the kitchen and it was beautifully clean and tidy for our return. What a sweetheart.
I'm rather pleased with those 5. All mse oldstyle. Even the wurst was considerably cheaper than our other meals (the two poles we were with were vegetarian, in good jobs and single so we ate raher more expensivel than i would normally)
Oh and i applied for a job. I saw it when in berlin but the deadline was 7th so i emailed explaining and she said if i got it in by friday morning... I got it in by 1am. It was good to get me thinking about what i want to do next.

Absolutely! As my DGD2 says, 'A girl can't have too many pairs of shoes can she Grandma?'
And on the subject of shoes and DGD2, watch out IC and RS, she designs her own and I can't wait til she goes into production :D

DD good luck with the interview, and well done on facing forward x

Got my meds, phew! Sitting with a bag of them and a cuppa before tacking the mire aka bathroom. How does it get so dusty?!

Have a sunny day (and giving thanks for the overnight rain) :)

    Evening all.

I had the day off work today and was intending to go into Chichester, but I slept very late (I was dreaming about my late, much-missed Mogget so you can understand why I was reluctant to wake up) and decided to have a lazy day at home instead.

    1) Ordered a new bird feeding station, paid for using a voucher from doing surveys. :money:

    2) Bacon sarnie on HM bread for brunch.

    3) Mooched into town to buy some new flannels and got them at 20% off, and also picked up some of my favourite Yankee Candles for between 50 and 75% off. :money:

    4) Treated myself to a bunch of cut dahlias from the greengrocer's, and found on the way back to the bus stop that I'd picked up a bee passenger. :D

    5) Bought two single bus tickets as I didn't have enough change to buy a return, and found that two singles are actually cheaper. :money: (I mentioned this to the bus driver, and his response was "yes, I know. I don't know why either!")

    6) I had to get some change to pay for the bus back, so I treated myself to an iced coffee to break a £20 note. The price was  (I don't often buy RM coffee, so the price shocks me every time) but it tasted .

    7) Pulled up and threw away a tomato plant which had died, and replaced it with a little one that I found to have seeded itself between two paving stones. (A couple of years ago I grew a trial variety which dropped tomatoes everywhere - it never got through the trials so it seemed everyone else had the same problem - and I'm still getting self-seeded tomato plants popping up in random places!)

    8) Continuing today's lazy theme, I'm getting a takeaway pizza for dinner, using a voucher for some freebies so I'll get two to three meals'-worth of food for the price of one pizza. :money:

DD - I'm glad you managed to have an enjoyable time in Berlin, despite everything.

sparrer - I'm not really a shoe person - I have balance problems, so high heels are out of the question - but I'm also looking forward to seeing your DGD's designs: I can admire even if I can't wear them myself.

VJsmum - thanks for the virtual postcard from France - I love reading everyone's travel stories. :)

Goldiegirl - welcome to the thread. It's always nice to have another virtual friend posting nice things. :)
Back after a very long break!
