1. Bought a gammon joint for slicing and freezing into portions, which should save money as I won't be buying pre-packed ham.
2. Said gammon is in slow cooker as I type.
3. Four loaves are cooling on the kitchen table.
4. I sorted out the freezer today and wrote down everything in there - hopefully this will help with next weeks shopping list.
5. Had a lovely hug from dear little GD today.0 -
Not much to report today as it's been a dozy day but have enjoyed it, so
1. got up at 8.30am
2. fresh berries from the garden on my breakfast
3. sorted out a few books for car booting
4. Tasty chicken and chorizo salad for tea
5. dozing off and on
Will be bouncing again tomorrow now meds are back to normal. Can't wait to stop falling asleep and get on with living again!
Have a good evening with sweet dreams to follow0 -
Hello from a train somewhere in the midlands.
I am a curly top too! I wasn't until I had DS and he sent my hair curly:p I love it.
Pleasures for Disneyland
1 it really wasn't too busy, no queue longer than half an hour and many were shorter. Full of Spanish though, considering their economy is such a mess it was strange. I think all Spain's money is in Disneyland
2 we did a 14 hour marathon, 9.30 - 11.30 and survived
3 DD had a wonderful day. It is a little sad as I don't think we will go with her again, at least until grandchildren come along  but it was a magical day for her
4 I didn't kill moody stroppy selfish DS. I am not too sure if this is a pleasure or just an accomplishment :rotfl:
5 the show at the end was the most amazing spectacular thing ever and so worth being there so late for.
None of these are OS or money saving - so there
Today's pleasures
1 a good. Sleep but could haves done with longer
2 our favourite restaurant In Paris is closed for holidays but the substitute wAs nearly as good (sorry having a favourite Paris restaurant is a bit arrissey)
3 Eurostar, the only way to travel
4 home in an hour
5 we've left OH in Paris for an organ fest so I get a snore free night :T
Night allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1) Lie-in this morning - actually more of a lie-in than I'd planned as I struggled to wake up.
2) Got into Chichester and had a very pleasant day wandering around, including finding an area I'd never seen before despite having visited the city more times than I can count.
3) Ended up getting to the pub too late for lunch, but had a couple of very pleasant pints of beer sitting in the sunshine.
4) Bought a vacuum storage bag so I can put my winter duvet away (very OS) and also bought a couple of pairs of earrings (not so OS, even if they were RTC).
5) Now watching the athletics I missed while I was out, thanks to BBC iplayer, and will be eating LO takeaway pizza to make up for my missed lunch.Back after a very long break!0 -
1.Did some pampering last night, a nice hot bath, face pack, deep conditioning ah you get the picture I feel better for it.
2.Dh and I got our eyes tested today and it took about 3 hours, the lady said it was the most laughs she’s had in ages and what a lovely couple we are - which we took as a compliment, his test is free, I used a £10 voucher, but then the cost of glasses and we have very complex lenses which means we can’t go cheaper and buy them off the web as we have to get them specially made and thinned etc, you can guess that pretty much the savings we make on mse pay for it around about.
3.Stopped off in the caf! to refuel and recover from paying the above bill, DH and I put the world to rights about saving so much on other things but having to spend out on eyesight.
4.Popped into a charity and picked up an “animal hut” that looks amazing tucked away in the back of the CS shop and a load of ferret drinking glasses.
5. Feel a bit guilty but I reckon a very lazy evening ahead0 -
The world's finest, straightest hair here. That's why I have it cut so short, any longer and it just hangs there looking lank!
My pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son went climbing with my sister and brother in law. He did a level 5 climb so was very pleased.
3) Smaller son and I found a couple of geocaches then went to watch bigger son.
4) Enjoyed watching the Harry Potter film and Casualty.
5) Fish and chips from the van for tea.0 -
Hello, it's been another bright day but with a wind that would cut you in two.
Nice chat .....to same friend as yesterday ....just 1.5 hours this morning! Well...I have unlimited international calls.
DS out with friends and DD1 at work so DD2 came out with us today. We took a drive up to Healsville again and I had a nice low carb lunch...left the bread! Went to the nice deli and bought some pât!. DD2 and I both love pât! .
Stopped at chocolate factory on way back....sampled their wares and then bumped into someone I know ( don't particularly like though) but made polite conversation! Didn't buy anything!
The scenery is stunning , rolling countryside and hill after hill . Horses and cows and sheep....back home we lived in a town but near the countryside so I miss seeing fields and animals and tractors....so I appreciate our forays into the countryside at the weekends.
Home and a bit of pottering listening to an audio book.
I've made lasagne for dinner....mine is low carb with blanched leeks layers instead of pasta and topped with cottage cheese...hmmmm will see what it tastes like! So made 3 portions for me and big one for everyone else.
My nice husband is washing my car....it has not been used in about 10 days and is shockingly covered in possum poo, possum wee and bird poo...yuk!
Have a lovely Sunday .....girls have a non uniform day tomorrow so I am having a non uniform ironing day today0 -
1. A big lie in and lots of tap water have pretty much cured my hangover
2. Being lazy - under a blanket on the sofa (it's cold today but I can't put the heating on in summer!) with a lovely cup of black tea.
3. The smell of the gluten free cheesey soda bread that's currently baking in the oven.
4. The contentment of a near-empty fridge after some successful meal planning & shopping this week. I hate waste!
5. Looking forward to a big serving of low-fat veggie shepherds pie for dinner tonight.October Grocery Challenge: £20.65/£150
September Grocery Challenge: I lost track/£200
August Grocery Challenge: £92.11/£1000 -
1. Finished packing up the house - there's only the beds and f/freezer to come back now
2. Glad I was on my own, felt a bit sad, then it was easier to say the final farewell when the place was empty.
3. Was treated to yummy Chinese takeaway by my chum G
4. Chum M popped over on the off-chance I was there, lovely to see her
5. Big cuddles with DD this morning, then I had a HUGE lie-in, til nearly lunchtime!!
6. We have all helped unpack a load of stuff, and quelle surprise, it's all fitting in nicely into the spaces available! 99% sure I won't need a storage unit
7. When taking a lampshade down for friend E last night, unfortunately the wires came apart from the pendant (!!!!!), and friend G called her friend who is an electrician - who came over at 11pm and fixed it! Talk about going above and beyond, so, so grateful to G and sparky chum xxxx
8. Have had a lovely haircut, quite cheap and much needed, as I have probably the world's thickest hair and was looking like an old English sheepdog! Good chat with the funny hairdresser, who was picked because he was available, rather than me knowing him and his work. I'm sooooo low-maintenance at times!
9. Changed the address on my driving licence Thursday afternoon, and the new one was delivered yesterday!! Speedy or what?!0 -
1) NSD and NPD.
2) Tried on a couple of skirts I bought in sales and both will have to go back for a refund tomorrow. I'm putting that as a pleasure as having extra money is always good, although it's an annoyance too as these will be the third and fourth skirts I've bought and had to return. All I want is a long skirt that doesn't show my knickers when I sit down or trip me up when I try to walk - is that too much to ask? (Apparently so as I've been looking all summer and still haven't found one.)
3) Picked a couple of HG aubergines for dinner. :j
4) I've got lots of green chillies and tomatoes, too, I'm very pleased to see - it's about time I got a decent crop.
5) Changed the bed so I've got nice clean sheets to sleep on tonight - a reliable recurring pleasure.Back after a very long break!0
