dundeedoll boyfriend schmoyfriend! You are quite right to feel hurt and wounded and broken hearted but hey girl as Kittikins says we are all here in this lovely , friendly virtual place for you. Snots and tears are allowed here as well.....I've certainly shared more than a few with you all.
Big warm hug ( from the heaters....tis winter here still) sent from me to you.
Well, it's Thursday , 2 weeks of leisurely ladyness under my belt now. Going into new work tomorrow for our first staff get together and meet and greet. This is a brand new business which seems beset by hold ups....more hold ups due to council restrictions ....so phone call today and would I mind workingon a Monday instead of a Saturday? ....er , let me think Monday- Thursday ......oh okay then!
Everybody out this morning with home made bread sandwiches or sausage rolls for lunch and peace and quiet for me. 2 loads of washing done and hung on the line. It had poured with rain all night but brightened into a bright, sunny but darned cold wind kind of day.
Up to library and watched Holby online ....thanks for your free Internet.
Into local shop for 2 red onions and some coconut milk and then home to make a chicken (rtc) curry in the slow cooker. My ( fingers crossed....never made it before ) naan bread is proving as I type.
Read for a while....then time to iron ampersand whilst watching a police drama that's on at 2pm!
Then back to my book for an hour and then time to make bread whilst listening to a new audio book.
Have a lovely day and LFS good news on the all clear.....worrying is horrible whilst you wait but at least you know it's good news....big sigh of relief.0 -
(((DD))) I wish I had a magic wand that removes hurt, some of us could do with it for many varied reasons. Wallow in misery, cry when you want, then lots of best friend/family/girlie get togethers and talk, or so I was advised. It takes a little time but it does help. We can't 'get over' all hurts but they do lessen, I promise you. And just keep coming back, you've offered your broad shoulders for most of us so now it's out turn to make with the tissues, tea and sympathy
LFS I love marrow but only stuffed with a mince/tomatoey filling, like a bolognese. The family loved it but now there's only me and it doesn't freeze so I do it with courgettes. Not quite the same but best I can do for one.
goldiegirl, yes please, do it more often as and when you feel like it, because it's not only fun to write but also to read others' pleasures. Thank you for yours
Not so many pleasures for yesterday as pharmacy has run out of the vital daily med, so have to wait til tomorrow for it. Pumping the inhalers and neb like mad to try and make up for it, it's a wonder I'm not flying!
1. Early start, washing on line by 8am
2. Slept most of morning, too lethargic to do anything else. Felt very lazy but frankly my dears, I didn't give a damn!
3. The bromeliad rescued from the bargain shelf of a garden centre 12 years ago is just beginning to flower again. Apparently they're supposed to die after flowering, this one produces amazing orange blooms twice a year on average
4. Watching the gladioli I bought a couple of days ago slowly coming into flower, a delicate pink/peach which looks lovely against the cream and lilac jug they're in. Will be interesting to see how one of the stems does as instead of being straight it curls almost right back on itself at the top.
5. Dragged myself of to meeting with friends for a couple of hours last night, was pleased I did as I called into Mr M on the way and picked up a ys box of 4 blueberry muffins. The bakery girl said there was another box the same, should have been 241 at £1.68p each but I could have 241 at 49p! 5 in freezer, 3 for the two landscape men who are coming at 10 o'clock. Well two muffins for them, the other one for tasting
Made 5, I knew I could if I tried. Hope y'alls have a sunny day0 -
Morning
DD - (((((hugs))))))
LFS - Great news about your results.:j
Sparrer - Hope you are looking after yourself and get your meds sorted today
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Stange day at work as a director who has been with the company for years was given the heave ho. We are streamlining again so everyone unsettled again but we got through the day and will continue to do so and just be thankful of the job while it lasts.
2. DD had been offered some shifts for next week so that will give her some money next month plus all good experience.
3. Left over pasta for lunch. There was more in the pot than I realised so shared with someone at work who was happy to be fed.
4. OH cooking dinner, I had a headache and didn't feel up to much so he cooked and stuck to the meal plan.
5. Nice chat with friend on Facebook and she posted a picture of a shoe brand she thought I might like, bad girl that she is because yes I do like very much. (Must not look anymore or will buy some). The shoes are Ruby Shoo;)
6. Bought some cheap tickets to take DD to the theatre next week in Windsor. It was supposed to be a treat for after work but they have just changed her shifts today so plans need to be changed a bit.
Hugs to all who need them0 -

Had to have a look of course, and have seen a pair I love! Just peeked at a few more, now have at least 7 pairs on my wish list. Dream on sparrer, you couldn't get another pair of shoes in the wardrobe! Well, maybe I could squeeze just a couple of these in....;)0 -
[STRIKE]10, 9, 8, 7. 6, 5[/STRIKE], 4, 3, 2, 1
To be Frank, I has been good with the goodness of the yellow thing in recent days. I nose I am toooooooo super at most things, but there limits to my agility, but then again & as gis me the free !!! and season ticket to rant.
I only has one rant. When I started my engineering in 75. It aloud us entry to the college, and see things like the Stranglers aged 14 and wobbleade! Also, we were bad, so kicked out of cases to Ms T's class. That was no punishment to those of the post pubescent daring. With Ms E as well, life was tooooo dreamy to even get ...
But one thing I do remember, if ole Jimmy Laing. He said engineers are here to provide solutions to people's problems. This week, we have solutions for everything.
We can grow food in the lab, both meat and fungi
So we can feed the world
We have the technologies to energise the world
We have the treatments to save life in the world
To think we should use them to furnish our future?
Oh, there is of course another rant. World problems I can solve! DDs broken heart, I am sorry, all I can offer is a good spark from Jenny :heartpuls :heartpuls
There you are, I can solve everything. Get about and get a new spark.
Other solutions available without request. Donation, wobbleade, accepted.
Rite gals, gets on with it.
No pleasures as away, for the last time from Ms Whack. So this could be the last afore the nest.0 -
Good evening all !
Dundee ((hugs)) It's horrible and I really feel for you, as KK said I wish I could take some of the pain away xx
LFS- great news ! One question. How the heck do you get those overralls undone when you need an urgent pee?;)
PK -ta
Tealady - how unsettling for you. However, I wish they would ditch our bloated management structure. My boss gets 55k and to be frank she has done sweet "f" "a" in the 11 months that she has been in post. A stuffed acrylic toy could do a better job.
5 for today
1. Cleared out my desk..... no not to hoof it . It just needed to do it and I thought if I did hoof it soon there won't be too much to scan, log, bin or cart home.
2.Colleague bought me some cheesy twists
3. Other colleague has had me in stitches all day. The "peasants" (us) are planning to revolt on Monday. I keep calling her Red Ken:rotfl:
4.Green curry and sni*kers bar for tea - not on same plate
5. Orky Poo the bald headed Jackdaw was sitting right under my kitchen window staring in at me with his good eye at 6am. He is getting really brave now - he is so ugly that I love him.
Have a good evening all ! Day off tomorrow:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Kindest thoughts doing out to Dundeedoll
I work only on Thursdays and Fridays, so normally pleasure isn't on the agenda on those days, whether old style or not.
But overall, a better than average working day
1) Work not nearly as bad as normal!
2) Managed to get all three of the 'compliance training modules' done. Glad they are out of the way.
3) The girl who sits next to me is a Muslim - it is the end of Ramadan and it was Eid today so she brought in a tin of chocolates for us all
4) OH was a bit late picking me up tonight after work, so sat on a bench in the sun reading my Kindle
5) Hoorah for batch cooking! Within 30 minutes of our arrival home we were sitting down to a tomatoey chicken casserole
Wow, I don't normally find so many good things on a working day ... this thread is making me think positivelyEarly retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
1. Lovely day off with DD
2. She slept in my bed last night and was nice and snuggly
3. Had 'the chat' with my mum about how much rent I should pay and she was very surprised and pleased with my proposal, as it was a lot more than she was anticipating
4. DD and I went to a fab museum, had a picnic by the river, cooed over the gorgeous swans, cygnets, ducks and geese, played in the park, chatted to friendly people - and of course, had an icecream!
5. Daddykins went to our house to pick up yet more stuff and so I am now sitting here typing this at my desk (old dining table) using my 28" tv as a monitor! (oh, and am avoiding doing what I should be doing, yet again.......)0 -
Evening
Sparrer - Glad it is not just me being led astray by oh so pretty shoes, I like the ones called Dorothy plus lots of the others but can see these being in my collection soon
Pleasures for today,
1. Looking at pretty shoes but have resisted buying so far, may be a different outcome by the end of tomorrow.
2. Sat in the sunshine to eat my lunch and read my kindle.
3. Work a bit more settled today as the changes start to make a bit more sense finance wise for the company and we know there are more big changes to come.
4. Seeing a couple of ops guys in the office today and them looking forward to me doing some site visits. I don't get to go out to site these days but lending my time and experience to another department over the next couple of months.
5. Given a bottle of wine as a thank you present, wasn't necessary but nice all the same and DD will enjoy it as one she likes.
6. Got a free Moleskine notebook in the post, can't remember asking for it but very gratefully received. I do like a notebook, ahh OH has just claimed it  oh well.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
DD, Echoing what Chicken and Kitti say, really feeling for you.
Chicken: I love your thinking re work.
Sparrer hope they sorted your meds.
Not very MSE pleasures but:
1. Feeling very relaxed and a little bit better than I have in a while.
2. Left work an hour early and went off across the bridge to Costco and feel lucky to be able to get a few bits and pieces;)
3. Popped into the pound shop over there as well and got other bits and pieces.:)
4. Had a bad but lovely take away over there.
5. Both DH and I are removing bread from our diet just for a short while before re introducing a little and feel a lot better so far and only on day 2.:)
6. Working from home tomorrow.
I am looking forward to an doc check up tomorrow as I really need them to do something about my asthma meds.0
