    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. no packed lunches to make as DD away, OH had the day off to play golf so decided to treat myself to a baguette from nice sandwich shop.
    2. Myself and another collegue muddled through covering reception for the afternoon but I did need to phone DD to ask how to do something which amused her greatly.
    3. Vouchers arrived from Tesco to add to collection, not bad as don't spend any money in there much these days.
    4. Managed to get home without getting soaked.
    5. Had a gormet dinner of fish fingers, chips and beans. Very yummy it was as well.

Hugs to all who need them

dd - never moi in freezer, merci! speaking of which -

1 Small things, small minds moment re:cake. Instead of faffing about cutting greaseproof paper to line springform tin, sat paper over base, then clipped shut. So simple - v. pleased. Suppose you've all been doing this for years. It's only taken me 64.

2 Reluctantly returned Louise Penny's 'The Beautiful Mystery' to library hier, but next is out later this month. Just as well. Ended this one during hair appt@College with 'Oh no!' exclamation. It can't finish as it did....

    3. ...but found a Gladys Mitchell, having heard her on radio and forced r4x linky upon you all a few posts back. Marvellous writing, such zip and style! Nearly missed stop...........

4 ........on penultimate bus. Flashy floods to wade through back here. Good fun:-) But then, 15 power cuts in 4 waves of on-off's over several hours. Finally just lay in bed in dark, then woke at 0100 and listened to r4x through to 7. Good throughout.

    4. A bit of killing time lady wander through John Lewis before College salon- such luck! 2 lovely 600gm wooden slat boxes of Turkish Delight, each rtc £1.75! - for once, 'decimated' is accurate. Lady serving me loves TD too, said how good it was I was taking them as she would eat the lot. My Other Peeps boxes are filling steadily.

    5. It's sunny and bees are going mad in beans and raspberry jungle. They carried on even through rain last night, past end of day.

    6. I've just mw'd microfibre dishcloths with stuff for 10mins to sterilise - another new thought.

7 vjm - are you revelling in this? [I know they can be terrifying down there]

Might have managed another thing later - I'm not giving up atm.

    Persistence Tuesday one and all.
-with a late 4a for sparrer, since it concerns Irregular Choice shoe sale in Grand Arcade. Was tempted....and the new range is even more amazing.

Tealady - I love the scottie dog shoes. :D

Frith - glad the car repair didn't turn out to be too painful.

    1) Wore a t-shirt which was too tight when I bought it but which I have successfully dieted into. :j

    2) Received an email from a colleague complaining he wasn't told a particular piece of information, and somehow managed a polite response pointing out all the times I'd told him if only he'd bothered to read any of my emails!

    3) Decided to deal with my holiday-itis by booking Friday off work, with the intention of wandering into Chichester for lunch and a raid on L&kel&nd.

    4) LO paella for lunch, and it was almost as nice cold as it was when I cooked it yesterday - which was a surprise, actually, as I tasted it while it was cooking and it was revolting, but it somehow turned delicious with 15 minutes of simmering.

    5) Blackbirds hopping around in my garden, so I've put some more mealworms out for them.
Back after a very long break!

His DM has a dementia type illness and he is her carer and had a restless night by all accounts.Gave him a reassuring pat etc to say "it's ok" we will sort it. I do feel for him.

    3. Hens fine

    4. Terrier being a Diva

    5. Quorn burgers in pitta bread. Nice actually .

    1. & has fixed her tailgate. Yes, it is true - after a small perambule, brandishing useless Haynes, section 12.9 @ village boy[who has a rather fine Nick Cave look and NC's lovely tall, lean, muscular build about him, good good]and saying 'WHY won't this work?' I didn't have a wotsit widget squeezy thing. He did. & can now open and shut boot from outside.

    2. ..which means Spits resumes Thursday. So hied me to storage place and constructed new Mr T clothes rail ready for winter vintage items. I will use narrow sides of building until overdue lessee departs. Landlady arrived back from a birthday lunch chez friend. '74' she said 'I don't know how'. Nor I. If you guessed 54 max, you'd be harsh. We chatted, in a stately, correct, taking measure sort of way; so far, neither ill-disposed.

    3. Lovely supper, but strange sans doute - flashed rtc sliced lamb's liver, some bacon then added to rtc baby aubergines seared en grillade with h-g tarragon[love the burny stripes]. these quickly tossed with h-g basil, then red wine sloshed on, bubbling to reduction. It was divine. Side dish was h-g broad beans and a ripped handful of poir!es, zapped with garlic and NZ avocado oil. Truly scrummy. Glass of red. Top 20 cricket on - Surrey annihilated Somerset, now Northants vs Durham.. Reading Gladys Mitchell. 4 kinds of bees chorus in raspberries, loads of them. Blue sky, wispy cloud above. Swifts whirling.

    4. When I sit out, greek and italian basil, lemon verbena, rosemary, choc, ginger and banana mints are all within reach. I often rub them between my fingers - purest bliss.

    5. More seasonal silly clocks. I have just found the April/May hibiscus are finally budding.

    6. Had Church to myself when I dropped eggbox in. It was beautiful, flooding with sunlight and warm, colourful silences.
    ############
lfs - you are due for your tests this week aren't you? Thinking strongly of and for you.
pk - your eventual strawbs Lot 2[in a tower]now have fruit starting. Bonkers, but good bonkers.
ccp - one of the saved callas has given birth:-) Keep crossing fingers.
me - a ginger root has struck! v.pleased.

    1. Froze lovely jellied chicken stock in 4 boxes, measured out for chicken'n'rice meals.

    2. Washed a load of towels and dried them outside.

    3. Walked the dog in the early evening today - much cooler.

    4. There are lots of green tomatoes on my plants, and yellow flowers. Promises of tomatoes to come!

    5. New New Tricks this evening!
