5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Hi everyone
1. I have a gooseberry on my bush. This is not a euphemismJust the one, but after 3 years of nothing - this is progress :T
2 I also have a clean and tidy house for the first time in weeks. me and Harry have spent the day [STRIKE]doing it[/STRIKE] ahem, cleaning and tidying. I am knackered, but it's done and a bit more for the big holiday fund. But have also decided that if I am going to be working more hours, then i will have to use some of the extra pay to pay a cleaner and find other ways to add to big holiday fund, which might also be some of the extra pay.
3. Also baked a lemon and lime drizzle cake and a tea loaf to fill the teenagers' hollow legs
4. Lunch with friend, her DD and my DD - my DD has finished her exams (AS) but still has a week before she's back to school. Friend's DD has her exams (A2) starting tomorrow
5. Jacket spuds with cheese and beans for tea - one of my favouritist meals. i am easily pleased.
Nighty night.
Some familiar faces missing over the past couple of days (Chicken? CCP?) Hope everyone is OKI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Todays five are;
1. Mum setting the date for her wedding :j they only want a small do and so they are keeping it secret but as I am anonymous on here there can be no harm in sharing and I've been bursting with excitement, I might get some sleep now I've got it out.
2. Gorgeous five star holiday booked and paid for. 9 weeks to go! It was a bargain and the last one we will get for a loooong time.
3. Attempting to clear the freezer in preparation for moving. I'd removed some chicken thigh and bacon lardons with no idea what to do with them. I invented a chicken and bacon in garlic and herb sauce dish and it was yummy.
4. Evening walk with my two favourite guys, Ian the dog and OH.
5. Resisted the urge to go to a certain drive through and went home instead and made a smoothie. Cheaper, healthier and used some frozen fruit out of the freezer.Comper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -
I'm a stranger, is this allowed?
1...The sun shining makes me feel better
2...The sun shining makes OH listen & actually helps me to weed in the garden
3.. The sun shining and OH helps me to paint the garden panels so they are all the same colour!
4..The suns shining & the OH bless him has now finished our new decking area :j
5.. We are taking my mum away Wed- Sat so hope for this lovely weather to last
Best wishes to all Westy xxxNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
Hello Westy, welcome

COngrats to MMS mum :j
Welcome Westy - all are welcome, you can never have too many pleasuresI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Great start to OS day, finding Westy and smiling with every sentence beginning 'The sun shining...'. Oh, yes, you are VERY welcome indeed and I see your mse birth pre-dates mine and many! Also, it's not a treadmill. Post as and when....
lfs- I'm still thinking of how you must be feeling, today being no.5 - of this:
Debt Free - 30.05.13. It is a fantastic achievement to celebrate, every day. Another Well Done You !
mms - all good things happening for you and yours atm. Forays into freezer depths, brave! & good on 3 fronts: health, £s, house move. Love sound of Ian, every time.
vjm - I freecycled my sawflied gooseberry bushes. Do take pic of your firstborn.
1. Interesting bamboo architecture for beans. It's odd that some are still germinating v.slowly, so more to plant in a week-ish. Why does this happen? All started in identical conditions at same time? Found another old pod on no.1 shed floor, so trying them[5] too - borlotti, I think.
2. Neighbour and I enjoyed watching, chatting with his girls. Mid-dig, I hand fed them choice worms. Neighbour gave me choice eggs:-).
3. Another 1st@64 of your Earth Years - held his latest bunny babies! 2 weeks old, but still tiny in my small palm. Beautiful little things.
4. Gave neighbour spare folding chair to enjoy sun outside and was glad he did so for several hours. Physio is not helping his movement, but increasing pain levels severely. I cannot help but think of how crippling in all ways this must be for someone whose whole life has been an outdoors one, from childhood farm, to an entire working life with/riding race horses.
5. Asked if he liked rhubarb. Eyes lit up. My split and replanted crowns suddenly look like gunnera, so against conventional '1st year, don't pluck' wisdom, took a dozen or so stalks and gave half, cooked with ginger and brown sugar.
Busy day ahead. Relieved at no Spits this week, feeling like this. Head full still.
Let's hope ccp is grabbing all sun while she can.
chicken similarly dazzled by diamond sparkle? Oh - we tried neighbour's girls with my slugs. YECCHHH!+affronted were they. Comical to see, so......
Off to check on blue pellet kills[evil woman rubs hands gleefully].

Kittikins - good news re the house!
MMS - exciting wedding news and glad Ian is doing OK.
Hello, Westy.
Ampersand - I must get some rhubarb.
Pleasures for yesterday!
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) House clean and tidy.
3) Took library books back, quick look round charity shops and found 4 geocaches whilst in town!
4) Took brother in law to his climbing lesson (he is learning how to teach people to climb and getting some sort of certificate). His car blew up at the weekend so I was his taxi service.
5) Enjoyed watching Springwatch with smaller son.
6) Smaller son had perhaps his best ever day at school! I would type out some of the comments in his home/school link book but I can't because it is back in his bag and on the way to school with him again. :-)
7) Also (this not in chronological order) went to dad's to print out a begging letter for help paying bigger son's bus pass. This particular charity paid for the whole thing last year which was very nice of them as it is nearly £600 per year! Feel a bit mean asking them again ready for next year. Bigger son goes to the local school (we live in the catchment area) but because we live more than 6 miles away, I have to pay for the bus. We live more than 6 miles from ANY school but there you go....
8) Also put my name down for free course for parents of children with autism. The NAS offers all sorts of courses but I can barely believe how much they charge. :-( But this is organised by someone else and no charge at all.0 -

Frith - Can you get a referral from your GP for the NAS courses, I know they do this for the dyslexia courses as comes under DDA. Worth an ask0 -
I thought celeriac was difficult. might give it a go next year,
