Caught up.. DD, how sad re the young man.
Kittikins, I'm with BOP, but also hope that you get your buyer, if it is meant.
Thanks all others for an enjoyable read.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Thistledown - I've got rather a lot of tomatoes and beans too so I've bought some chillies and will make a big batch later this week. I haven't any room in the freezer for it at the moment.
Dundeedoll - good news re: puppy/ies
LFS - that's a lot of celeriac.
Kittikins- are you doing the PGCE or the one that I can't remember the initials for, the graduate programme?
Ampersand - I've tied my sweet peas to their tipi (couldn't find any string so used pipe cleaners!) but haven't put the slug pellets out yet. Must do that later.
McC - I always have Chicken Kashmir from our local Indian which sounds similar. Curry with bananas and lychees.
Pleasures for yesterday (Sunday). Can't remember what happened on Saturday!
1) Went for a walk in Malvern.
2) House very tidy, even took the lampshades down and washed them.
3) HM pizza and potato salad for tea.
4) SONS ARE BACK! Hoorah!
5) My school friend came round for tea.
6) Watched The Voice.0 -
Just a quick 'un as orf on me tour of the high reoads shortly
Hugs to all who want/need, cyclists, gardeners, cooks ...everyone
1. Quiet weekend, mowed the lawn, pulled weeds, dead-headed (already!), very grateful for our share of the yellow thing at last
2. Lots of tiny plums forming on the tree, looks hopeful for a good crop
3. Pear tree covered in leaves, the first year it's shown any sign of life. Unfortunately the pear tree in the orchard beyond my garden was cut down last month so I don't know if I'll get any fruit, it's supposed to be self-fruiting so I'll have to wait and see. Ah well, it's a pretty green anyway!
3. New young lady to mentor, met her husband and LO yesterday, I have a good feeling about this one. Hopefully one of the 2%
4. A strange one but just thought it was so nice to see - watching 'Breakfast' this morning, an article about primary school children growing veg, and later prepping it, under supervision, using knives and scissors. Thank God for a common sense school - though I have a feeling the do-gooders will soon put a stop to it
5. My step-sis (big sis since I was 10) and nephew are coming from Kent to visit DM, I haven't seen her for a couple of years so am really looking forward to it.
Have a good, safe and sunny day0 -
sparrer-won't tell you to take care. WILL tell everyone else on road to take care of, watch out for our sparrer. My strong hopes for your new young lady and family, too.
1. Some lovely reads here - thankyou everyone. McCulloch, don't let bop see that remedy for stroppy behaviour:eek:
2. I've been up some hours, but only now heading outside with brekkie+book. Won't be too long. Too much to do. e.g.planting beans out - only realised they were still in growhouse this morning.
3. Visit arranged for Fri - was emailing l-h as I held on phone. Lady knows my voice now. We chatted. She heard my head cold. Promised I won't bring it with me.
4.Frith - pipe cleaners=brilliant. I just plonked my s.p's along new fence, telling them to climb up/through wire.
5. An odd wake-up this morning, unsure why, then realised. Aaaghhh! Leapt from bed. Leaky hwb! Not too much, but enough and, post-examination, dkw. Well, was up, so did early hairwash&brekkie now will end 3hours with conditioner on, then rinse and more Monday.
Enjoy yours everyone, even if back in harness. Yellow thing is here all week, hotter each day, if THEY are to be believed...
