oldtractor - Its better for not getting bugs than celery, likes alot of sun and water too. I like old tractors:D I got alot of them!
2. Sun, and more sun
3. Planted 14 borlotti bean plants in the garden(yes, live on a farm, still have a veg garden!)
4. Tea for two tonight will cost 69p. Very long catering sausages, al*i part baked baguettes, homegrown onions..smug mode:D not healthy but filling!
5. Managed to grow 5 aubergine plants so in the greenhouse they were planted:) first time I've not just bought plants!
I seem to have alot of veg related pleasures in my life!! You'd never guess I love veg looking at whats for tea!
ampersand - thankyouI keep taking my card to hole in wall and just getting a statement, no money! ITS NOT OVERDRAWN! Woohoo!

1-99 Little Miss Kitty is back with me
:)
100. Sunshine!
101. The for sale sign now says SOLD - and I've had the sales letters confirming the name and solicitors' details for the lovely people buying the house. Bit of a relief!
102. Great day at work
103. Lovely email from a chum I've not seen for a while.
104. DD and I were ladies that dined tonight, cheapish and yummy.

PLEASURE, THE FIRST:
'101. The for sale sign now says SOLD - and I've had the sales letters confirming the name and solicitors' details for the lovely people buying the house. Bit of a relief!'
Long Live Tutu Power!
Oddball others, many culled today -
2. 'Vivat Regina' singalong loudly in car before getting out to catch P&R bus - loved the Coronation 1st time round and didn't we re-enact it endlessly! Music has stayed, as the best stuff does. No-one with me to be embarrassed.
3. Tackled something Bank-y and Mgr v. up to speed. My non-taxpayer status is going in circles. Bank and HMRC point fingers at each other. Time for it to stop.
This chap will fix it. Another goodwill gesture in the offing, I gather...
4. £land had 500gm bags of dried apricots@....£1? Took all 3.
5. Free w8rs capuccino in sun, with book and lady alongside commented on it.
An hour later...I accept her Uni. Lect. PhD card, promising to sort sth she asked about. Could be mutually beneficial and we had marvellous talk.
6. Called on friend before major surgery Thurs. Tea o/s in sun. Garden talk. Awareness of what's to come. I will not enquire until w/e. She raved over Tom Fort book on the A303, said she'd always wanted it, after catching a bit of tv prog from same. I didn't know about tv. Chose book for sense of quirk and charm within, confirmed by back cover reviews I esteem. We are both pleased:-)
7. A few more bushes in, just finished. More blue sweeties down post-watering.
8. Church shut, so will copy Dawna Markova piece tomorrow, after compline, which I have never been to here. Used to love hearing it on R4.
9. Just re-read yours, lfs. Hopefully we'll have many happy borlottis between us. The thought of making authentic pistou is a salivating one...but I need to be down there as I cook for nirvana bliss. I repeat my pleasure for these first 5 days of your truly free life. It equates with mine from modest banking thanks to Spitalfields - and that feeling is such a good one.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Thanks for hugs. More bad news. Dr oliver smith's body has been found. He and his young family went to our church. Makes my non-arrival of cd which i'd paid £4.99 for 24 hour delivery seem rather petty :-(

Welcome Westy  what a lovely sunny post
LFS never tried celeriac, I really must now you've spent so long planting some!
'I have a gooseberry on my bush'. Raised my eyebrows there VJsmum
How exciting MMS, but we won't tell, honest :shhh:
BoP pleased you have decent digs for the week. I don't know north of the county too well but believe it's very pretty up there
I was told rhubarb is indestructible ampersand, but I've managed to kill one of the two I bought earlier in the year (it rotted). An unexpected bonus though, I planted it in a potato sack and they're growing again! Thought I'd dug them all out but looks like I have a few more to excavate yet
Kittikins what a happy, positive post
DD how very sad for Dr Oliver Smith's family, my thoughts are with them. Well done on getting the pressies/rhymes done, that was quite a feat!
1. DM discharged yesterday, no package of care, no meds, no GP letter, nothing. Sparrer, who knows a wee bit about these things shook them up and got everything organised in a couple of hours. Royal Berks hosp wasn't expecting that!
2. Was lovely to see my big sis and nephew, she was widowed three years ago and recently moved from their ginormous house into a smaller property near my nephew. She looks as if the world has been lifted from her shoulders now she has family nearby and a little bit behind her for a rainy day.
3. Unfortunately missed the yellow thing today due to sleeping most of it but it meant a nsd/npd
4. After quite a search I've found what I think is a respectable agency to call in on DM daily for a comfort call and anything else she needs. Being the independent lady she is she'll not ask for help, but good to know the carers will be there just in case
5. Very strange request from DS to borrow my pinking shears, to finish the edges of some curtains so they'll be on their way oop norf in the morning. My children never cease to surprise me with their needs but they know Mum has always got what they ask for
Sweet dreams0 -

Sending love and prayers to Dr Smith's family and friends, so sad x0

Good morning
So sad about Dr Smith
Lovely posts yesterday (except for the above) - things growing, sun shining, lovely things to eat
Here are mine for yesterday
1. Good walk to and from station at both ends of my train journey - I should have buttocks like steel ball bearings with all this walking!
2. I have now discovered lots of gooseberrys on my bush! And nothing under it - which is a bonus
3. Caught up with the gossip at work - people are getting so angry at things they can't control, I took a back seat several years ago and decided to adopt the serenity prayer workwise
4. OH cooked tea - rather a "nursery" type tea of chilli sausages, jersey pots, veg and gravy. Just what the doctor ordered - though i'd have been happy with a portion of jerseys as i love them so.
5. DD changed Harry Potter 6 for Harry Potter 7. Goodness knows how I'm going to get the house clean after I've finished that.
6. Spending much of the evening in my bedroom, reading round the net, doing a bit of potential investment work but watching the night draw in and enjoying the stillness. I find I am very happy to sit in silence these days - it would have been unheard of before and i love my bedroom when it is clean and tidy. We designed and built it ourselves (well we didn't actually lay the bricks) when we had the house extended and I was particularly keen to have 2 windows - it makes such a difference to the ambience in it.
Have a good day everybody.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Good evening from Melbourne ....dark o'clock , heating on and candles lit.
A few pleasures from past few days...
I've a gaggle of girls in the dining room at the moment, studying with DD1.... Not realising they were staying this long , I overheard my daughter tell them ' my mums the best' when I provided cheese toasties, banana bread and a fruit platter.....and gave them my last (gulp!) bottle of fizzy juice!!
I made tablet ( Scottish sweet) on Sunday and it turned out perfectly, last few times I've tried it's been a disaster in the heat....so cool winter temperatures are the best! It was delicious and I took some into work for colleagues and some lucky customers! Gave one of my favourite Scottish customers a wee bag!! He was delighted!
OH had taken Monday off work as he had appointments and DS was in early from uni so we all had an early dinner of lasagne and they were delighted when I brought out the hidden tablet ( hidden as it would have gone very quickly otherwise! ...and then had to re-hide it!)
Last night we had spag Bol from left over bologneise from lasagne...just added another tin of tomatoes and an onion. Tonight was tagliatelle with onion, mushrooms and bacon and garlic..OH and DS hate garlic apparently....pasta gone in a a flash!!
Saw a hot air balloon this morning, not seen them for ages, it was still dark but with a stunning crimson sunrise creeping up behind the distant hills.
A plethora of parrots ! At least 250-300 ( bit hard to count as they swoop and swirl above me) , a flock of ibis flying above me and the usual motley crew of ducks, moorhens and water hens I see every morning and afternoon walking to and from the carpark.
Autumn colours ....just , as we are officially winter now! Nearly all the trees are empty of leaves but the few that are hanging on to them are just stunning .
Work....hmmmm, the pleasure is having my jacket on and out that door bang on time. Manager is Mr Grumpy Pants at the moment! We are all working very hard and under pressure and his grumpiness does not help!
Anyway another day another dollar!
Watched casualty with DD2 on her bed on Monday and watched Holby whilst I did the most monstrous ironing ever this afternoon. I didn't iron at weekend and the pile was overwhelming! However.....enjoyed my bit of UK telly as I ironed!
Had a lovely chat with my friend on the phone early this morning, nice to catch up ( she was gallivanting at the weekend! )
Have a lovely day, hope the sun shines, hope your bushes are full of gooseberries!! Hope you get your washing dried on the line and if you need a cosy, warm from the heating on/ candlelit hug I'll send it your way0
