    Good afternoon all !

BoP - you know what they say about being an early bird ..... they are well... early

Dundee - priceless stuff ! :rotfl:

    a few for today

    1. Work ok

    2. I sat next to a colleague who is as weird as I am :D.

    3. Chap at work with hearing dog hands me the lead of the aforementioned hound whilst he makes a cuppa in the skanky kitchen located on our floor . Hound goes all silly when he passes our "pod" for some girly attention .He looks back longingly over his shoulder when chap retrieves him.:rotfl:These things make my day.

    4. Quorn chilli for tea.

Have a good evening all !

    2. For any who like these things, auction here:
    http://www.catalogue-host.co.uk/rowley/newmarket/2013-05-21/category_7_page_4

My lots: 29, 101, 123, 124, 171&2[which became one lot-terrific!], 200, 757, 827, 828[because of Daphne Reynolds, hopeful] Of course I would have loved more, but it cannot be. In fact, can very rarely be in this setting, so anything feels like a bonus. Example, the lady ahead of me, paid over 76k in £10 notes, that's quite a Morrison's bagful she had. There are many dears and eccentrics at this one. There is always a particularly friendly, all-equal feeling here.

I'm really not a great one for art, but I had a quick look and thought 'ooh, I like lot 828' - snap. :D

DD - love 'qualificated' - I'll have to try to slip it into the conversation at work sometime. :)

    A late pleasure for yesterday:

    6) Got home from the pub quiz to find next door's little b&w cat waiting in the driveway for our weekly fuss. I don't know how she knows when it's Tuesday - she's never out there any other evening - but she hasn't missed one for the past month. :)

Today hasn't been great work-wise, having discovered this morning that a colleague 'forgot' / hadn't bothered to let me know that one of my areas is being audited in a couple of weeks' time, although he's known about it for months. But:

    1) My legs didn't squeal a protest at moving when I got up this morning, so I think I'm finally recovering from the weekend's walking.

    2) A colleague rapidly backing away from a (joke) threat to steal my packed lunch while I was in a meeting once I told him what he'd get - apparently mortadella and cucumber sandwiches aren't his thing! :rotfl:

    3) A brief appearance by the yellow thing this evening.

    4) My first aquilegia is out in flower, as is the cranesbill I thought had died over the winter.

    5) Rescued a book from the growing pile of 'free to a good home' ones in the corridor at work. I feel a bit guilty as all my unwanted books go to a charity shop, but not guilty enough to stop me taking one. :o
Back after a very long break!

I’ve not meant to be missing just had so much to fit into the bit between work and home it’s daft but nice.

    1. Tomorrows poets day;)
    2. Busy packing the COL of an outing, and in true MSE style meal planning, in part because the food where we are off to isn’t great so meal planned from the rtc’s in the freezer definitely not a veg option with burgers, sausages and ribs.:rotfl:
    3. We won something on ebay I think maybe it was mis spelled and it arrived today, it’s brand new and exactly what we were after.:D
    4. Dinner is cooking away and smelling good HM korma and rice.:p
    5. Just got a decent deal on the car insurance and by phoning got a better deal elsewhere and thanks to getting things under control, we were able to pay it in full so avoiding the interest on the d.debit.:T:j

    1. I'm still ruing Lot 747; can't help looking at it. It would have been a cracker for Spits:
    http://www.catalogue-host.co.uk/rowley/newmarket/2013-05-21/lot_747?prev_page=browse%20by%20section%2c%20page%202%20of%204&prev_url=%2frowley%2fnewmarket%2f2013-05-21%2fcategory_7_page_2

    2. Just finished mowing. Offered to have other new neighbour's grass on my compost. Both of us pleased. Bad note: slug over-run, small ones bedded by their hundred in bases of plant pots I'm emptying. Surely it can't be as bad as last recent invasion.

    3. Car quite unloaded, now over-loaded again. On verra.

    4. Sun came along mid-afternoon.

    5. Load of things to near village charity - good name: 'Centre Peace'.

    6. Looks like a good currant crop coming on.

    7. Catching up with The Now Show as I write.

    8. Heard the latest from Borsetshire today - What Ho! that man Jim for his article on Brian. Even Ho-er to the Editor to whom his Squireness complained. Jennifer has bought all copies from village store, to prevent the self-wrought hatchetry being more widely-read, but it hasn't worked. Jim has access to more.

    9. Neighbour's hens really loved being out this afternoon. One ran about with a bluebell in her beak.

10....which reminds me I forgot to take a picture of a large snail who rode around on the mower throughout. He retreated into shell when motor was off and I emptied catcher, but came right out, antennae up, when we were up and running again. I suppose some fairly obvious analogy might be made...pleasing one half of a hermaphrodite.

Early ups for Spits again, so signing off now as fully-qualificated Member of the Precariat.
Good news for your Mum, kittikins
Well done son, ot - finding good work is so hard for the young atm, making success for friend's husband even more precious.
skint - you heard same weather. It's true, isn't it?
ccp - oh good, re: Daphne Reynolds pic. Oil on paper is less usual and she was accomplished, highly-regarded.

I don't post here often enough but having one of those days where I feel I need to count my blessings and remember to think positively.

    1. Went to bed at 8pm, listened to pod casts and drifted into a fantastic sleep, woken at 5.30am by furry, purry cuddles.

    2. Hanging out the washing at 6am, it was sunny, warm and blissfully quiet (aside from the birdsong)

    3. A bargain fabric find, just what I needed for a project I had in mind.

    4. Jimjams, a glass of wine and a snuggly blanket on the sofa with 2 purry companions.

    5. Knowing that no matter how horrible DD1 has been in the past 48 hours, she's a good girl really. It's just a phase.....it's just a phase......(repeat to fade.......)

1.Clean, tidy house after cleaning pal's visit.
    2. Loads of YS bargains inc a mega-sized gammon joint for a fiver - already half price as a SO and was reduced further on UBD.
    3. My favourite singer at the Club - Kieran Halpin. Great to see him again after a break of a couple of years. http://www.kieranhalpin.com/
    4. Passing on freebies to friends.
    5. Managed to get out on trike, which is running well, it wasn't blowing a gale and I didn't get wet. Loved getting the trike up to max-ish speed. I kept one guy in a car in my sights 3/4 of the way to Mr T's (was buying ciggies for cleaner pal so had to go there).
