Hi, everyone, wishing you all a good weekend!
My 5 for yesterday:
1. A huge, delicious and cheap Thai meal out with friends, enjoying great company and making plans for further get togethers.
2. Friday - a short day at work and the last one of the week!
3. Doing another 900 words on my latest short story.
4. Yummy homemade hummus with pitta bread for lunch, followed by homemade yoghurt.
5. More loose change found at the gym.
Edited to add: 6. The picture of Martin holding a rose between his teeth!! So funny!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Mine for today:
1 Signed up for Candis magazine (had a free one last year and liked it) as there were reps in netto and got a free edition with a free book and was told by the bloke that i dont look my age (i know he was selling me something but always nice to hear!!!)
Did they make out that it was a charity and was for premature babies????
The reality is that 8.5% goes to charity the rest of the £11M a year goes to the family run firm....not a lot of people are aware of that.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I thought it was for cancer care. I didnt know the amount to charity was so low but I like the magazine and even though 8.5% isnt much, it is better than nothing I suppose!!0 -

Hi all
Just a quick pleasure in advance, later or tomorrow I am going to post properly:
1 - In 15 minutes I have an appointment with my morsbagging friends and a local newspaper photographer, we are going to do our morsbags release at the local shops (we are still lucky enough to have a real baker, a real greengrocer, a real butchers - with delicatessen counter and a real health food shop). Wish me luck, I am going to put my lippy on and then I'm out of here! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
My five today:
1. Using our new free electricity monitor. What an eye-opener it is. I thought we were doing just about all we could not to waste electricity, but we've already come up with new ideas and experiments to try as we see our usage moment by moment
2. Got 'double' shortbread in the fridge and ready to bake. All organic and nice stuff:j. Will put it in the oven straight after we've taken out the roast and turned off the oven. Should stay hot enough to cook 'for free' if we're lucky.
3. Knitting for another birthday
4. Knitted bunny was a success and made someone very happy for their birthday
5. Reading some of your inspiring posts. (Sorry I don't get time to reply to you - but I DO read and enjoy them.) Thankyou0 -
I've not posted in a while due to being busy and also having a few problems. Here are my 5 pleasures for today:
1) Getting my mealplan sorted for a couple of weeks. I've now got a plan to stick to, so it should be easier to think ahead.
2) Planning to book a couple of days off as soon as I can so I can do some batch cooking. Since cutting out fizzy cola, I feel incredibly tired in the evenings so it's hard to find the enthusiasm for anything at night. That'll be a massive pot of tomato-based minced beef sauce to make a load of portions of lasagne, some chilli con carne, moussaka, shepherd's pies and generic Bolognese sauce for either spaghetti Bolognese or pasta bakes. Also I plan to make a load of sausage and stuffing pasties, and some steak and onion pies (I shall cheat by only covering the top with pastry). That'll make things an awful lot easier for me.
3) Cracking on with my sewing. It is therapeutic and is coming along nicely. Unfortunately, one of the side effects is a minor crisis of ego where I consider myself boring. Rubbish, I know...
4) I'm enjoying watching the rugby. It's nice to watch a sport I'd love to have a go at.
5) I've been watching on the Hairy Biker's Mum's Know Best programme of so many hand-me-down cookbooks with handwritten recipes. I was given a recipe folder for Christmas from a friend, and I'm going to start using it.
I hope everyone has a good weekend. Take care, everyone.

Sorry I've been MIA for so long, my days are proving busy at the moment, more details on my blog.
Anywhere, here's mine for the last few days.
1) Hubby is enjoying his new job.
2) Hubby found a huge stuffed toy at work, brought it home & the grandkids love it.
3) Whoopsied rump steak for tea, an early valentines treat for hubby.
4) Lots of Rugby on TV, so I get uninterrupted time to surf.
5) Had enough money to but satsumas, blueberries & grapes for DD who had more month than money left.
6) Half term next week, so I get to work part time for the week.
Hugs Hester
