pomadaprincess welcome.
Today's pleasures:-
1. My 90 year old aunt who went to hospital today to have, as she thought something nasty removed from her nose - again, was told that it was skin cancer but the last op had completely removed it and she was discharged:T
2. Baked sticky toffee muffins so that I would have a pudding when the DGK's are here next Tuesday, then remembered it's Shrove Tuesday and they will want to have pancakes. Now I have a dozen muffins in hand.
3. DH has emptied my small change tin and there was £6something in there, just what I need to repay myself for the pom-pom yarn I stockpiled for pressies.
4. An afternoon nap in the chair.
5. Doing some more of my crochet 'ripple' blanket - it's looking good.

Hooray, it's Friday
1. Worked from home, a v-e-r-y quiet day, so was able to cuddle DD and watch silly films with her as yet again, she didn't go to school
2. Realised that yesterday was a NSD
3. A friend has agreed to make DD the most amazing birthday cake at mate's rates. It'll be fabulous and far more professional than anything I could attempt.
4. Am back on the diet waggon without any problems. Phew!
5. DD and I had valentine's cards delivered by the postman this morning - I must make DD's card soon, one of the envelopes is addressed to MummyRoll on Sunday!

Well, I've had enough of this week now! Just been mopping bathwater from the floor of the living room (don't ask). The last torrent of bathwater last year meant I ripped up the carpet and threw it away so at least I just had to clean this lot up off concrete!
Had the results of Grandma's post mortem. She had a stomach ulcer (no one spotted it) and it must have been bleeding finally leading to peritonitis. I'm really annoyed with myself. When I visited she was having a blood transfusion and I thought to myself "She's never been ill before except that time in the 80's when she had a bad ulcer and needed a blood transfusion"....... I never thought to tell the nurses about her previous ulcer because it was so long ago. :-(
Also had my mum round for a cup of tea which is nice in one way and I'm glad she felt she could talk to me about Grandma but she can be so intense. 20 minutes of intenseness about all the upset SHE feels about Grandma left me feeling pretty grim, to be honest. I'm sure that sounds terribly heartless but I'd rather talk about practical things at this stage.
Anyway, I shall aim for 5 for today!
1) Last day of school before half term!
2) Cleaned the living room, lots of soot and dust from the stove. Put all the toys away, hoovered, cleaned... cleaned the stairs (they're wood), the kitchen floor and the outside of the cooker. It's a good job done before half term.
3) Went to our nearest town after picking up the boys from school and got new library books, swapped my magazines, went to the sweet shop and fed the ducks (except they were completely outnumbered by seagulls).
4) Easy tea - potato wedges, beans and scampi!
4 isn't bad!
Oh, and court yesterday. The ex took me to try and get me a fine or community service for breaking the court order. I stopped contact for a week because he decided to stop me from getting the boys from school (just drove off with them) and for various other nasties. The judge immediately threw the case out! More information has come to light from a social worker and the ambulance service (don't really want to say more) so my solicitor is going for an emergency order. Contact between he and the boys has stopped as of yesterday then when we go to court for the emergency order, we shall have to prove no contact is the best choice. Then it'll be back to a contact centre. :-(
Very tired now, its not really been the best of weeks!

2. Eating out tonight (really tired) it's nice not to mess up the kitchen.
3. Brushing the cat. She's now napping.
4. PLaying with the other cat. She's now semi napping.
5. Being warm.

Evening all,
Still feeling under the weather today but anyway here goes for my five:
1. Enjoying being in the same office as some old work friends even if only for a while as they have to move desks next week
2. Doughnuts at work left from a meeting plus a couple to bring home for OH and DD.
3. In laws wedding anniversary today and instead of going to the expensive florist (who is rude as well) went into Mr.T and got a lovely bunch of flowers for a fraction of the price.
4. Buying a CD to put away for my mum for mothers day which I know she will love and it only costing a pound
5. Its Friday and I have next week off :j:j
Hugs to all who need them.0 -
1) Lunch out at the local curry place with an old friend. We had two solid hours of chatting for £8 each and two free coffees. I think they were trying to hint that it was time to go.
2) Making an apple and blackberry jam pie for tomorrow. Have been invited to a friend's house for dinner, which is a real treat. Also taking some home made fudge for her girls.
3) Having half a batch of fudge left and finding out that DS's girlfriend's Mum is probably in need of some chocolate fudge - she's in hospital again so DS will pass it on to cheer her up.
4) Finding a PG Wodehouse in the library and chuckling through the first chapter.
5) The thought of a lie-in tomorrow,0 -

Just adding my welcome pomadaprincess, I see you're listing food pleasures already. You've come to the right place
Was very relieved to see your post ACEY, they didn't drag you off in irons then. So sorry you're having to go through all this carp with ex, it will get better, I'm sure
CCP when I get dermatitis on my hands I soak them in rolled oats. Sounds strange but a Chinese friend told me it got rid of her little girls eczema in just a few weeks, she put some in a stocking and tied it to the bath hot tap, let the water run through it and her DD soaked for 20 mins a day (she added cold as well of course). Soaking my hands in a bowl of the infusion works for me. Mods please note I am NOT recommending, just saying what I do
Bella so pleased to hear your aunt didn't have to have any more surgery :T what a relief for her
My five -
1. Ooh, rocky road I love you! I only made a half recipe as I didn't realise I didn't have enough rt bickies and I did keep a piece for my DNeighbour and her DD. The rest, well....:o
2. Got enough points on surveys to get yet another Amazon voucher, that DSiL's birthday sorted
3. I've just booked a 6 day holiday in Jersey at the beginning of March. There's a convention of my fellowship for 3 of the days though no-one from my area is going, but it will be good to meet some new people and I've not been there before so am looking forward to it. What a strange little place, they speak French and use sterling...in fact it sounds like the best of both worlds
4. A lovely sunny day, so nice I had the doors and windows open for a while. The pets thought it wonderful that they didn't have to keep asking to go in or out, and I thought it wonderful I didn't have to play door attendant for a couple of hours
5. Tidying the kitchen glory drawer and found 2 2nd class stamps with no franking marks on them. I must have put them there ready to steam the backs off and forgotten, so it was a nice surprise
there's one more - 6 - I did a Reverbe, I found a 2p piece!! Admittedly it was in my own garden so does that still count, Reverbe?
Night night n (((hugs))) everybody, sleepy tight
