Evening
Thank you for all the good wishes for DM.
Pleasures for today,
1. Friend bought me lunch today at favourite noodle bar and we had a voucher for a free wrap.
2. Seemed to have to deal with every idiot in the world at work today but got there in the end.
3. Got to go to a free event after work hosted by an agency but it was at Molten Brown so decided to go, free goody bag and a £10 voucher. Also had a voucher for a free shower gel from answering a short survey so used that as well. Also got to have a lovely hand massage and a free glass of wine.
4. Letter from Sky to say they have extended the special offer we are on for another 3 months :money:
5. Chinese take away for dinner, first one we have had this year and very yummy it was as well.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Very quick pleasures. Was too tired to get out of the bath, hence the late bedtime.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Quite enjoyed the first day of doing the postal votes.
3) Popped in to see mum and dad on the way home.
4) Bigger son went out for tea with son5 from next door. Smaller son and I went out for fish and chips.
5) Got invited to son5's birthday party. Had my first cup of tea made by MrN in 2 years!
6) Now in bed with smaller son, smallest cat and 2 hwb and will listen to Mark Thomas' manifesto just now.0 -
Morning all - I, too, was too tired to post last night. Just about dragged myself off the sofa and up the stairs.
1. Nice meeting with ex-student who has come back to do her dissertation.
2. Last proper teaching session of the year - I shall miss it though.
3. Said goodbye and good luck to my American students. it has been great to teach them and they have said nice things about my lessons.
4. Begg for tea (bacon and egg) after i had done the very long way home picking children up on the way (mine - not some random ones I found). My last late teaching session so the last time for getting back at 8.15 STARVING
5. Watched the politician's husband before crashing out on sofa.
Have a nice day all - I have to work today, even though it's Friday. I am invigilating the Americans' exam.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Just to give an idea of another:mad:putah moment, I was 2 words into typing after catch-up reading of pleasures, taking shower, dressing and coming back here. 11 new tabs suddenly popped up along the top, part of the 2 typed words appeared in a google chrome search box, everything went blank, closed down to screensaver pic and I have just started again.
It took over 2hrs to open damned thing the other morning.
Think I'll start off by waving to mhags:wave:. topping up the glasses for ccp, skint, brizzled, vjm and any others wanting[regardless of who finally imbibes], cheering Frith and sons to the rafters - great leaps forward indeed, saluting ccp's grandma for that reverbe, firmly telling bop it's Toulon I'm supporting this Sunday.
brizzled, you're v.v.welcome:hello: - but 4 mile runs pre-brekkie transgress my Code of Conduct. Feel free to continue doing them for me:D
1. So it's raining, just as it was when I headed to bed pre-Spits. on Wed. Dawn chorus, one or two little peeps heard even @0300h, as I left yesterday, again in rain. Back last night near midnight, earlier than usual and didn't need half-way doze. Felt buoyant. The change of light and hours somehow creates much more than a one-hour timeshift. A number of us were speaking about this as we waited for market to open. 6 months since I began there.
2. Against any particular expectation, day went rather decently and unexpected things sold and sold well. All sorts of nice and interesting people and 2 last minute sales, during packing up, which really put icing on cake. Car insurance and Monday's mot[fingers crossed]should be covered. Such a relief - esp. if I can emulate kittikins, skint and I know Frith is her family's insurance wizard. Will start on Martin's process shortly. Being able to do banking in these straitened times in this, my earth-years ancience of days, in a milieu I like, with the fillip of visiting London to do it, feeling acceptance and weekly friendship there, continues to amaze me.
3. On return last night, saw that friend's son has taken pergola down and have advised the need-to-know peeps just now. What will be mad woman's next ploy, I wonder?
4. Postie brought ticket for Twickenham:j and other letter, re: which, arranged visit during Spitalfields yesterday, for today. All change on that front, more cost-cutting and trouble waiting to happen, but we will continue to do what we can.
5. Hope your ratatouille was delish, vjm. Took mine as lunch yesterday - scrummy. Shared some lovely edamame choc. beans, another w8rs rtc;[STRIKE] £1.96[/STRIKE]19p[quite enough too, for 100 gms] - had never had them before. Only heard of them recently and deffo. not in choc. context. However, anything thus enrobed deserves a chance:D
6. Thought of next two Weds' Channel hops, followed by Spitalfields again, is again pleasurable. DFDS have just undercut P&O by £1, but without the 6 bottles of free wine.
I'm off to bungle through another day - slow start and late for me, but never mind.
TGIF's to all for whom this is extra special.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Well I will wave right back at you ampersand! I am okay....honestly!!
my ipad doesn't want to connect to hotspot on phone and I dislike having to use my phone as the keypad is so small! But thank you for your concern!
Tealady best wishes to your mum, hope she feels better soon.
Frith good that you finally have an official diagnosis for Master Frith the Younger! hopefully education dept will sort things out for you! Well done on persevering!
Sparrer where are you??
CCP hope your foot improves soon.....or the wine makes you forget the pain!
Chicken thought of you last weekend....DD1 and I were out for a walk and on the main street (busy road) someone had chooks (as we call 'em here!) in there front garden.....big spaces between fence slats....on our way back we came across a hen wandering about the pavement!!
Everyone Else!! I've enjoyed reading your pleasures over the week...here are a few of mine!
First of all has to be hurrah for Friday! What a working week I've had!
Big event on Monday! Great, went well! Tuesday.....customer turned up ....I thought her big ,high profile event was for Wednesday! Oh My! I was horrified, managed to scrabble stuff together and got there in time, but I was just mortified! Wednesday.....manager was a piglet! However, discussed issues and reached a compromise!!
Wednesday , at home, about to make tea and could hear my mobile ringing from bedroom....2 missed calls from manager. An order for a customer was short when he came to collect....me, left thinking I was going crazy as I was sure complete order was there.....quick call to work and turns out one of the new staff had re-stocked from this order!! even though it was labelled etc and everyone but her knew it was an order!!! However, luckily he didn't need it until today so I was able to sort that out and he was very nice about it all.
Day off on Thursday and then I was in charge today....other 2 main colleagues had day off....there's always been one or t'other of them with me! However , day went by quickly without too many mishaps! So very much a hurrah for Friday!!
Yesterday was a public holiday for Anzac Day, so alarm switched off and no need to get up....which meant of course I woke at early o'clock! So I phoned my sister and chatted whilst I did wii fit for 30 mins! Multi-tasking!
Then we went to a supplier to collect missing items! He gave us some freebies ! Nice to see where our product comes from.
mad dash round house, tidying up as a friend was coming over. Made gluten free scones for her....with home made jam! Nice to have a catch up with her.
a wee afternoon snooze and an episode of Casualty.
OH was having his first good day this week so we managed to go out for dinner on our own. Took a doggy bag home for kids!
been at gym after work but if I don't manage I do 30 mins of wii fit!
Have smiled and said hello to lots of ducks and parrots and water hens and my garden blackbird!
Beautiful autumn colours surround me, we have lots of beautiful trees in our street and they are the most stunning, reds, gold, russets....DD1 and I have enjoyed stomping through the leaves.
Bought a lovely chest of drawers and swivelly mirror from Salvos....wouldn't fit in the car so DD1 and I walked it home on a borrowed trolley in the rain! It's for her room and looks rather lovely! It was reduced from it's weekend price when we had first spotted it. We were like the Chuckle Brothers...to me, to you as we manouvered it across a main road!!
There, that's not too bad! OH continues to be poorly , having maybe one good day followed by a few not so good ones, so that is difficult. Work , as we are so busy (25% busier than last year) is trying! We have a new team of staff who may be nice young pups but are not the most hard working! So I feel I'm constantly nagging 'em!
Hope you are all well and keep smiling....and those that need a warmish (but cooler in the evening!) hug can have one0 -

Thank you mhags
Just a brief one, no pleasures to report. Sadly I lost my beautiful Ying this morning. The vet found she had pancreatitis as well as diabetes, he was wonderful and did all he could over the past few days but sadly my darling little girl was too ill to respond.
Have a good weekend
