    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Hospital appointment with DM this morning where it was confirmed that she does have a form of skin cancer:( but the good news is that is should be easily treated with some day surgery and just a little scar on the side of the face. Should be done in 6-8 weeks so will be glad when over.
    2. Dad bought us all a cup of tea and bacon sandwich after hospital
    3. More doggy cuddles this morning. He hadn't seen my packed case as once he sees that he starts to sulk and ignore you.
    4. Laughing at dog who was going mad at the helium balloon. Had to hide the baloon in the bathroom in the end.
    5. No rushing for the train today, made it in plenty of time
    6. Home to my little family and not too much mess made in my absence
    7. Letter off work to say have a small payrise, wasn't expecting one this year as company didn't do very well last year so was a very pleasant suprise.
    8. Postie also bought £3 in luncheon vouchers from a survey

Hugs to all who need them

Ampersand - do you mean MMR jabs? My sons had theirs done. I did worry about it but I caught measles when I was 15 and was the most ill I have ever been in my life. I remember mum and dad running me a cool bath when my temperature went above 105.... I had viral meningitis at 17 and measles was at least as bad as that.

    Anyway, pleasures for today!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Did washing, tidying etc.

    3) Did sister's paperwork for her.

    4) Fed the lamb at mum and dad's as they went on a course today.

    5) Went into town for bits and pieces and by my car when I came back to it were 2 different sprigs of cherry blossom (one pink ornamental piece and one white). I don't know where they came from because there were no trees within view! They are in a vase in here now.

    6) Call from the County Council that they need a copy of son's diagnosis report then they can see if he is eligible to go to a school with an autism base or not. I think the fact he got excluded from a mainstream school but is fine in a small unit might answer that question for them!

    7) Sister popped in.

    8) Lovely tea tonight. I made chicken curry and smaller son did most of the pudding. He did a ginger biscuit base (smashing the biscuits for me) and topped that with some stewed gooseberries from the depths of the freezer and whipped cream.

    9) School friend phoned and I haven't long got off the phone.

    10) Looking forward to 5 days work! I am sorting/counting postal votes for the local council elections.

    11) Other excitement tonight - yesterday I sent off for a book (can't remember title and it is upstairs so can't check). Basically it is "I have Aspergers" for children. We sat on my bed in our normal bedtime story positions and I said I'd got a new book. Smaller son suddenly saw the direction this "story" was going and started wandering off/put his ipod on/decided it was all stupid. Then the ipod came off and I had to read it again... on the third reading it was like a light bulb coming on and he kept saying "I do that! And that!"

Then it all got a bit surreal because I was reading the bit about eye contact. "What's eye contact?" he asked (!) So we had a discussion about how people generally look the other person in the eye when they are talking and he decided he would like a go at that. It was most unnerving to have someone who has NEVER looked at me for more than one second, looking at me for several seconds! I had to tell him blinking was OK. We had quite a few goes; he found it very funny. He can manage about 5 seconds before laughing and going "Oh, my EYES". He describes it as "not being able to point my pupils in the same direction".

He's very impressed that he has this and I have to read it again tomorrow. :-)

Oh CCP - drink the whole bl00dy bottle, you deserve it.
:rotfl:This made me chuckle. Enjoy yr wine CCP... VJsmum is right you deserve it. Have a few glasses for me too, I cant drink on these meds and I'm going to be on them for at least a month:( (not as if I drink that much but you know how it is when you're told you cant have something )

I didn't drink the whole bottle - I didn't think it was wise while taking antibiotics - but I did drink Skint's glass as well - sorry, Skint, but I didn't think you'd mind in the circumstances. ;)

    1) Woke up very early this morning and lay in bed listening to the foghorns for a while before dozing off again.

    2) Had a brief chat on the phone to my grandmother, who had just done a massive - £10 - Reverbe in her garden. :money:

    3) The sound is now working on my PC after a nice man from the computer company came out to fix it; the noisy fan is something I'm just going to have to get used to, apparently. :undecided

    4) Arranged with my line manager that I'm going to work from home all next week, so I don't have to worry about the outcome of my next GP appointment tomorrow, although I'm hoping for a less bulky bandage so I can put proper shoes on again.

    5) Re-found the mini goat's cheese tartlets I rescued from the work do and put in the freezer a couple of weeks ago, which will make a nice dinner with some veg.

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
  • Oh gash, chaseds round and not court up will all the shin ann e gans yets.

I see that & wants to join the TV Tax exempt club. No problems. They send letters, just bin them. They have to prove you are watching or have been watching live TV. If you only watch catch up, even if you have a TV and Aerial, you do not have top pay. All you have to do, is remove the lead from you receiver, and use a tie wrap, and wrap the thing on it self. Ignore their letters, you do not have to tell them anything. It is for them to prove. Do not believe the myth about the van. It is fake. Has been for years, used by the Bolshevik Broadcast Commissariat to enforce control over us. Now we are free, the Internet has done this.

Check this out that we did last year

    No Tax. No Pay.

    Oh, and at Saracens.

    Champions are we!
Five pleasure in one, BEAT THAT.
Still bouncing and doing the DVD

Oh, and I hears the Little Frith has a new book for bedtime reading. Thinks lugs fold into themselves again as Mum tried that trick on me once. I won!
  • Frith, I'm so glad you got the diagnosis for your son and things will start to go forward. Get really pushy with County Council if you need to. A friend of mines son goes to Woodeaton Manor which is for kids with autism and the difference it has made in his life, and theirs as parents is incredible. He is no longer the 'problem' kid at school but a child who is now looking at going to college this year with confidence!

    So...my OS pleasures for today:

    1. I went to Wetherspoons for lunch...and work paid for it!
    2. Puppies currently sleeping on my feet!
    3. Two large punnets of strawberries from the market for £2
    4. Coming off shift and chilling out watching a silly movie
    5. Reading a book with chocolate planned for tonight....

Now...just have to decide what to do with all the strawberries!

Yum to strawberries! Wish I was there to share!

    1. Sunshine

    2. Friend's birthday at work and she was really pleased when I sang her happy birthday :)

    3. Managed to sort out a tricky problem with some teachers, hopefully gold star for me!

    4. DD and I came home and did lots of weeding/pulling dead bits out of the front garden. It now looks quite nice and we chatted to lots of people who passed by :)

    5. DD worked out how to get the extra long (wrong sized) blinds into the car and we took them back to Arguuus.

    6. Feeling relieved that I've done some internet searches and my car insurance replacement quote can't be bettered, which makes life just that teensy bit simpler!

    7. Not feeling shattered after my day at work and running around! Big relief.....

    8. Woohoo! Just found £10 I didn't realise I had in my purse, that's going to pay for our school panto tickets :):)

    9. Have received a lovely pre-birthday email from a former colleague in NY, miss her lots x

    10. It's 8pm, I'm sitting in the kitchen with the door open listening to the birds singing their beautiful songs, bliss! The housework can/WILL wait!

tealady thinking of you and your dm
ccp does your gran grow money in her garden? Or did it blow in?
frith lol about his EYES. It's been wonderful sharing your journey
ampers absolutely re mmr. I remember my fil accusing me of injecting poison into his grandchildren. I looked him in eye and stated that my would have been uncle had died at 3 from measles and that was a risk i was not going to take. I shudder to think what's going to happen to non-rubella expectant mums when that hits.
    Onto brighter thoughts
    1) had very good meeting. Rather alarmed when it was only me (chair) and minutes taker turned up. 5 mins later an administrator turned up then 20 mins later an academic whose bus hadnt turned up. Apologies from 4 others and a no show from the student rep. But we got tons sorted :D
    2) dd2 wqs in doing transcripts for us then took her for lunch with her godfather (my best friend who works just opposite)
    3) spent a long afternoon pulling together a prize application. Fingers crossed. It's for our JIsC funded project. Will do talks at a very reasonable rate ;-)
    4) finally escaped work at 7:15 and had lovely walk home
    5) facebooked dd2 just before i left so supper done when i got in. What a treasure.
Now i'm off for a well earned glass of wobbleade and episode 4 of the village
