    3. Hmmm...have beed in bed all day and most the night so am rather limited in my pleasures today....what can i say for 3,4 and 5? Hmmm...okay, yup, today was a NSD, my first no spend day of March :j

    4. Not long now until the clocks go forward on the 31st. Yay for more daylight hours!

    5. Was in awful pain all last night and a lot of today and it has subsided for now. It will be back, always comes back, but i have a temporary reprieve! Hoorah for meds and beds!

Rainy - wish I still had a horse , grooming, mucking out, cleaning tack , falling off .. alot :D I really do miss it, not the spiders in/on the rugs though (sorry Sparrer).

CCP - glad the mog has his appetite back:)

    1. Went in to town as needed some conditioner. The one that my hair "likes" was £5.99 for 2 in S*perd*ug I thought no way Jose . B**ts £3.98 BOGOF plus 25% off with their kiosk print out thingys . So £3 for 2 . Ha!

2.Washing dried on line by 13.30

    3. Hens let up the top garden in to the large raised bed. They have scrabbled up the weeds for me and they "helped" me when I dug it over . How they don't get decapitated is beyond me :rotfl:

    4. Made some melting moments biscuits as I had promised my colleagues at work tomorrow. Cheaper than buying them too.OH made nut brittle , very nice.

    5. Beef (yes it really is ..!) stroganoff in slow cooker.

    6. Mum came over and asked if we would have the terrier tonight as she is going out . She doesn't really need to ask ..

    1) Another (very) long lie-in this morning.

    2) NSD and NPD.

    3) Porridge with apricot jam for brunch this morning. It's a shame you can't write "yum" on porridge because it really was.

    4) Watching the athletics again this afternoon, with lots more GB medals. :j

    5) Making a curry for dinner this evening - it's simmering away and smelling lovely.
Back after a very long break!

    1. The stroppy teenager stories had me smiling to myself and reminiscing about one or two I knew, one of whom we nicknamed Kevin ;)

:rotfl:this was my DS's nickname too ! and he had friend at the time called Perry !
(...who he lost touch with after junior school when Perrys parents split up and he moved away, and sadly we've found out he is now a drug addict ....but least said about that the better)

    BoP is back :D

    for today

    1. walk with friend to car boot... blimey it was cold... didnt buy anything

    2. sewed hole in DS's fieldgun jumper. Panicked that my washing machine had made the hole but apparently it was there already when he was given the kit. Looks better now no hole

    3. Persuaded DS to sort out his college books/paperwork which had spread from his basket to the dining room table and floor. Spent the afternoon shredding. Have finished the last few bits of my shredding too.

    4. sorted all DS's important paperwork into 2 folders for him. Birth certificate, passport, nhs card, medical records etc. Told him as he's almost 18 hes old enough to be responsible for his own documents now  (not sure if this is such a good idea lol)

    5. Dishwasher on, washing done & mostly line dried. House is beginning to look tidy and organised for the first time in months.

    Hi all

I don't mind really that he is a stroppy teenager. It is very good comedy value and he knows it. We have shown him Kevin and Perry and he can laugh at it and himself. He knows that if he oversteps the line there will be consequences which will be painful to his stomach (i.e. it will be empty :D) and his bank balance and his X Box. I think he realises that he is on to quite a good thing with us compared to some of his friends.

    Welcome back BoP

    so for today

    1. Woke up naturally at 7 o'clock after decamping into spare bed at 3.00 a.m
    2. A pleasant early morning drive delivering DD to her all day rehearsal. She is currently on "the big date" so we are anxiously waiting to see how it went. When I dropped her off I said "Have fun - but not too much" to which I got an outraged "mother!!!" :rotfl:
    3. Went to DS footie match this afternoon. Now it is spring and a bit warmer I can come out of hibernation for such things. Caught up with a friend there and DS was captain. They won 4-2 but were a bit robbed of 2 further goals.
4 OH cooked tea of Spag Bog. An awful lot easier than a roast and there is plenty left for the freezer.
    5. At the suggestion of someone on another thread I used up some out of date corner yogurts to make trifle, it was rather successful to my surprise.

    Have a good evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

As promised a while back, penned by DundeeDoll when the death of Norman Painting was announced. You have my permission to sing it :D
    A long, long time ago...
    I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That Barwick Green would still entrance
Us, maybe, we’d be happy for a while.

But Grace’s death made me shiver
    With every paper I’d deliver.
    Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

    I can’t remember if I cried
When he took Jill for his bride,
But something touched me deep inside
    The day Phil Archer died.

So bye-bye, Auntie Beeb’s joy and pride.
Drove my tractor to the actor,
    But the actor had died.
And them Grundy boys with their cider I’m plied
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that he died.
"this’ll be the day that he died."

    From 1951 till now
Those farming folk have told us how
To tend our livestock, grow a crop
Do you believe they’ll ever stop?
Can Alan save your mortal soul,
And can Sid teach me how to dance real slow?

    Well Alistair’s annoyed with Jim
And Eddie’s van’s made Clarrie grim
    Gerontius dreams on
(Remember now the death of John?)

    Pipsqueak’s a teenager in a trance
With an eye for Jude, she wants romance
But love’s young dream had no chance
    The day Phil Archer died.

She started singing bye-bye, Auntie Beeb’s joy and pride.
Drove my tractor to the actor,
    But the actor had died.
And them Grundy boys with their cider I’m plied
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that he died.
"this’ll be the day that he died."

Now for ten years they’ve been on their own
To Glebe Cottage he and Jill have flown,
But that’s not how it used to be.
Remember all the pain and chill
When Doris left it in her will
To Shula, all around a bitter pill

Oh, and while ol' Dan was looking down,
    David stole his thorny crown.
    The courtroom was adjourned;
    No verdict was returned.
And while Nigel tried to be more green
    Sid and Jolene showered (obscene!)
    Jill reminisced with dear Christine
    The day Phil Archer died.

We were singing bye-bye, Auntie Beeb’s joy and pride.
Drove my tractor to the actor,
    But the actor had died.
And them Grundy boys with their cider I’m plied
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that he died.
"this’ll be the day that he died."

Helter skelter in a summer swelter.
    Poor Mike’s new bride’s icing melts, a
Pile of cakes lay for the judge
To snigger over, did Jill nudge
    This honey’d pile to guarantee
Her cake would win? Oh poor Vicky.

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
From guerrilla gardeners up at dawn.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
    `cause Adam tried to take the field;
That Snell woman refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
    The day Phil Archer died?

They started singing bye-bye, Auntie Beeb’s joy and pride.
Drove my tractor to the actor,
    But the actor had died.
And them Grundy boys with their cider I’m plied
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that he died.
"this’ll be the day that he died."

Oh, and there we were all in one place,
    A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick!
    Jack’s mind’s wandered, Peggy’s sick
With worry, who will be her friend?

Oh, and as the shop is centre stage
Susan’s fists are clenched in rage
    No angel born in hell
    Could break that satan’s spell
As Lilian cried out into the night
And Helen sobbed at Annette’s plight
I saw satan laughing with delight
    The day Phil Archer died

    She was singing,
Bye-bye, Auntie Beeb’s joy and pride.
Drove my tractor to the actor,
    But the actor had died.
And them Grundy boys with their cider I’m plied
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that he dies.
"this’ll be the day that he dies."

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I’d heard the music years before
But the man there said the organ wouldn’t play.

And in the bungalow Jill screamed,
The children cried, the script writers dreamed.
    But not a word was spoken;
By the silent cast, a token
    Baggy, Freda, Bob and Pru
    And NIMBY Derek, Titcombe too
Their silent tears just grew and grew
    The day Phil Archer died

    And they were singing,
Bye-bye, Auntie Beeb's joy and pride.
Drove my tractor to the actor,
    But the actor had died.
And them Grundy boys with their cider I’m plied
Singin’, "this’ll be the day that he died
"this’ll be the day that he died."
