    A quick collection:

    1. Friend and I helping each other out, she with toiletry surpluses for me, me with a few grocery related bits and pieces for her. Also applying for a job online for her and it all went smoothly.

    2. Gorgeous lippy in with the toiletries. I've made a mental note to use my lippies as not to is contrary to the spirit of my signature.

    3. Lovely little half leg of lamb from Aldi for tea yesterday, so moist and tender. My sis reported that M&S was charging £14 for a wee leg of NZ lamby, you could understand that for Welsh lamb, but for NZ???!! Mine was £3.88, just enough for two of us.

    4. Free book in post to review from Amazon Vine - an amusing little thing on TV/Radio bloopers. Not something I would have bought so nice to have it for free.

    5. Anticipating some learners booking tests which will hopefully result in income for me.

    6. The offer of free courses from my employer that I posted here and on a couple of other threads had quite a take up, which was really pleasing. If you haven't responded yet and would like to, please do pmm me and I will be very happy to send details. If you include your email addy in your pmm I can email you out an enrolment form and course flyer straight away.

    Good evening all !

PK - you must have needed the zzzz's.

    A quick 6 for today

    1. Checked my bank account this morning - got a nice ISA interest payment :D

2.OH sent me a text to say that we had 7 eggs today instead of the usual 3 or 4 . I thought that they would as they had a lovely day rooting around in the raised beds in the garden yesterday in the sunshine.

3.Meeting after meeting at work , not good for my back but made the day go quickly.

    4. Colleagues scoffed my hm melting moments biscuits .

    5. Fakeaway tonight with Mum and the tiny terrier:)

    6. Heat pad on back as I type this ..

Have a lovely evening all !

Evening all, from a very sleepy CCP - my day today started at 4am, when an electrical fault set off the fire alarm in my flat - the rude awakening left me so shaken that I couldn't get back to sleep even when the alarm finally stopped shrieking. :( Not a good way to start the week, I can tell you!

BoP - I got that burning yellow thing today, too - it seems strangely familiar but I can't think where I've seen it before.

Katholicos - I rather enjoyed Ripper Street as well, or at least I enjoyed watching Adam Rothenberg. ;)

    1) Spent a morning in the office reminding myself what my colleagues looked like before being sent home again by the occ health nurse. :( I'm under strict instructions not to do more than half an hour's work at a time for the rest of the week, which will no doubt leave me seriously bored by the end of the week but which suited my dozy state today.

    2) NSD.

    3) Had my current favourite sweet treat - sliced banana, fat-free peach yoghurt and some macadamia nuts - as an afternoon snack.

    4) Sunshine all afternoon, and particularly watching mog enjoying it:

    9a1cfcfe-ae16-4472-beb3-0cd43decc0a5_zps7811a21e.jpg

    5) Super-lazy chilli and rice for dinner tonight - chopped beef burger (HM, so I know it is beef and not horse! ;)) mixed with some LO chilli beans from the weekend, with some chilli rice from a packet. Well, I am meant to be resting. :o

    6) Planning an early night tonight and a bit of a lie-in tomorrow as I'm sort-of-working from home again - however much of a lie-in I get, it's got to be better than this morning!

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Loving the pictures - how do you guys upload a piccy on here? I tried before but failed!!!

    1. How the mornings are so lovely and light. The sun was shining first thing.

    2. Rang BHF and they are coming out to take loads of stuff from my loft. This is going to save us such a big job when we come to move and it will save us on fuel and not having to cart it around.

    3. Had a chat with a neighbour up the road in this glorious sunshine. She was in the garden pruning and we were commenting how everything is now in bud.

    4. Sat in the conservatory this afternoon with a cup of tea, it was lovely and warm out there and I opened the doors to get some of the heat into the house - it worked :)

    5. Just been going through my mums old sewing box. I found it in the loft yesterday and although I have a really lovely sewing box, I needed to combine the two. So I sat and did that this afternoon and found a beautiful old round tin in there that is Beatrix Potter in style that she had kept. I got it when I was about 11 or 12 years old one Easter with fudge in it. She kept the tin popped it in her workbox and put the spare buttons in it. I have now kept it and put it into my sewing basket. That is one thing that will not be leaving me. Happy memories and I am glad she kept it :)

Sorry you hade such a shocking wake up call during the night :(

    Mine pleasures for today:

    1. Went with Dd to fetch meds.

    2. Today is nsd number 3.

    3. Went into Mr A with DD as she wanted a few things. I didn't spend any money at all.

    4. Now tucked up in bed with pooch (she is snuggled up to her cuddly toy) watching Buffy and skimming through MSE.

    5. Will add number 5 later, hasn't come to mind yet...

CCP your mog is so purrdy :)
mcculloch you shocked me at the price of M&S lamb, I know they're more expensive than most food outlets but that's ridiculous! Well done on your bargain

1.What a beautiful day to wake up to, even if it is Monday. Heating off and all the windows wide open and then didn't turn the lights on until after 5.30 pm this evening

2.Had my breakfast in the garden. Dressed in wincyette jimmies, a thick robe and sheepskin bootees, very elegant but I didn't care, it was lovely to sit out there and no-one to see me anyway ;)

3.Having sat and looked at the garden for a while I took the bull by the horns and mowed the lawn. It looks a little patchy and yellow in places but nothing a little seed, feed and tlc won't put right. Pleased I've done it because as skint says the forecast for later in the week isn't too good (got dressed first!)

4.Spent a very lazy afternoon looking at smaller properties in the area. Am seriously thinking I should downsize, it's definitely a family house so far too big for me now. There are some lovely little properties locally, I just have to convince myself it makes sense to move :(

5.Looking forward to Scrimpers this evening, so I can shout at them about their haphazard ways and to listen to Martin :p

    Have a good evening :)

Grrr, just lost a post. :-(

Shan't re-write it, except the following:

Nuttybabe - geocaching is ace. The website is geocaching.com and if you type in your postcode you can see the caches near you. The app on the phone is £6 and lets you use GPS to walk and find the caches. (Smaller son has to do that bit, shouting out the direction we should be walking and how many metres are left). You sign a little log book in the cache then update your profile on the website when you get home.

Tealady - bread machines.... my wholemeal loaf last night would have been lovely. If I'd remembered to put the stirry paddle thing in....

Ampersand - in answer to your question of a couple of days ago, I am re-typing and updating my BA dissertation. It was written about the local church and the big appendices were records of the inscriptions on all the gravestones (180 plus). Dad was the church warden for years and was always surprised by people asking where their relations were buried or carrying out local history research (POW camp over the road from the church). So I thought I would spruce it up a bit and, 16 years on, add photos of all the stones.

And one pleasure to be going on with as its too late to re-type the lot. Smaller son came home and said the teachers told him he has now "caught up" at school. He was a low level 2 in his SATs in year 2 with just level 1 for speaking. After all the problems he had in his previous school, by year 5 he was still a level 2 and in some tests actually got lower results than he had when he was 6. (He's 9). Seems they have all done SATs style tests and he is now a good level 3 - after just 4 months! And that was after pretty much having 8 months off before changing schools.

He was also chuffed they have been making Earth cakes. Seems the core is one colour, the mantle a different colour, then the crust. Tomorrow they are going to ice on the land and sea so he is looking forward to that. :-)
