    Evening all (knees bend ;))

    1. The warm towel from the towel rail over the radiator to dry myself this morning. Some pleasures are so simple we take them for granted but I love that feeling on my face
    2. A colleague in this morning, good amount of paperwork done over coffee and fresh scones
    3. The lawn seems to have picked up already, it looks so much better this morning. 'Weeded' the unwanted ground ivy and grass growing between the paving with boiling salt water, I prefer non chemical solutions if I can and this one always works well
    4. DSinL's birthday, and DNeighbours DD's birthday. There are very few dates in my book that don't have two or more birthdays on the same day! Not a good evening for DSinL being a Man U supporter :(
    5. Johnny Kingdom and Alaskan Bears. I love watching him, he gets so much out of every minute of his life

    Sweet dreams :)

Of even curious, I see peoples still uses the count your coins machine for paymernt, instead of the automan tills. Put your change in them, it goes for what it is worth!
yes i often wonder that too. They clearly have more money than sense!
rainydays yes we did indeed have sun today, but still cold. However i was wrapped up nice and warm:D

    3) oh working late and friend had invited me to his photography club exhibition opening night (free wine) which was very close to main campus so bought a chinese for me and oh to share at her work
    4) free wine  (see above)

    Pleasures for today....

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Went out with a walking group! Still can't get over how organised they are with form filling, a card you carry with you and 3 different length walks. All in our local forest. I have never walked any distance with anyone else before so that was weird. I walk very fast, over pretty long distances, but with stops every 15 minutes or so to look at the view or have a sit down. Today we walked only for 1.5 hours, quite slowly, and with no stops at all!

    3) Went to the ironmongers and got a thing that I didn't know the name of so almost had to act it out to the shop man! Still don't know what it is called. It's like a hook that you can screw into wood but instead of being a hook it is a complete circle. Anyway, got one of those and put under the sink curtain back up. (Still a bit of a hotch potch in the kitchen, new base units were only the start. The "temporary" curtain was to cover the space between the units and washing machine and was put up by the ex husband so has been up nearly a decade!)

    4) HM soup and HM bread for lunch.

    5) Had a good tidy up.

    6) Bigger son had made coleslaw (kohlslaw sp?) at school so I had that for tea on the world's most enormous baked sweet potato.

My five for today, before i read back over the new-to-read posts of today...

    1. Managed a while in the garden and achieved quite a bit, but then realised that i have hardly made a dent in what needs to be done. Creep and go is all i can manage with dodgy and painful joints and head and ineffective lungs unaided by puffers galore. Still, i did stuff and that is what matters.

Must have looked a right sight sitting on my disability shower chair with my walking crutch propping me up and a shovel in tother hand. LOL!!!

    2. Watched both parts of Rebecca, the drama on itvplayer on the ipad. Lovely.lovely. Lovely. No match for the original film, at least in my estimation, but quite delightful to watch :)

    3. Simple food, primarily toast with stuff on it.

    4. Have made another rather chaotic looking garden plan for my veggie growing this year. The good thing about wipe clean white boards is that i can keep changing my mind!

    5. Cookie-collie has spent an abundance of time with me this afternoon and evening. Always good, unless she is barking, which does my head in.

    Night all xx

katholicos - Ditto re "gardening" I have raised beds and have to keep moving and putting my head back on straight like Worzel Gummidge ! I can't bend my head forward (cervical laminectomies ) for too long without loads of pain . Still its nice to do even a tiny bit outside:).

Dundee - cheeky ! For the record all,I am soooo not 22stone and 3ft high . I am 25stone and 2ft high :rotfl:

Hello, Wednesday tea time and DS is out for fish and chips for our tea.....hurry up son!

It's so blooming' hot another day in the 30's and to continue like this....er is it not autumn ?

A few pleasures from past few days:

The most stunning sunrises over the distant hills and the hot air balloons are back. Make me smile driving to work.

A duck convention yesterday .....60 ducks( yes, I counted them!) on the grass at the carpark! Not usually that many!
( I say hello to the ducks, the moorhens, the Australian pigeons ( different to UK ones) the Water hens ( google them) and the noisy parrots.....not usually anyone else about so no one can hear me ,)

Work has been crazy....semester has started and students galore are back! We have new staff which is nice but presents challenges as they learn the ropes! ( some better than others!) I sat with my friend for half an hour after work today for a blether which was nice.

Beautiful sunset tonight, just been out to bring my washing in (at 8pm ) and the sky is full of tiny pink clouds, very pretty :)

Got a nice surprise today, a cheque for $70 from school for selling DS's jacket and school bag at the second hand uniform shop. When I went with girls last weekend, I thought , having seen the vast amounts of stuff there that we'd never sell them but they have! School takes a commission but hey! $70 is $70!

Think that's about it! I've been so tired after work that I've been in bed very early past couple of night.....probably same tonight.

    Enjoy our day :)

    Morning all.

Mine from yesterday, just quickly as I should be getting on with some work. :o

    1) Nice lie-in in the morning, which was actually slightly longer than planned: I couldn't see the point in getting up early when my 'desk' (sofa) is only half a dozen steps from my bed. (Small flat! ;))

    2) Another daffodil is on the verge of opening, increasing the number of flowers by 100%.

    3) Took advantage of working from home to continue my efforts to empty the freezer - lunch was bread, pate and soup, all of which came from the frozen depths.

    4) LSD - just a couple of glasses of orange juice at the pub when I couldn't face my own company any longer, and I won back the cost of one of them as my team won the quiz. :j

    5) Arguing over football with one of the pub regulars, and the debate ended with him saying the very satisfying phrase "you know what, you're right". :D

Right, off for my next 30 minutes of work...
Back after a very long break!
  • Seems all yous lot are worried abouts your waist lines. Me, my middle name is Ted, I drive a van, in and around a lock called Teddington. I weigh about 10T, am a baker. Milk floats, I can blow apart with ease

See another lot of tweets about silver spooning. The puppets have been out again, their strings pulled and fines paid by their masters. The cross sticks are stored, until the next time. Safe in the memorial home for confused numpturials, where they can relax and unshine.

    5 Saw the mariners win.

4 Looks like I may be watching DDs team at the lawn again next season.

3 Nights off. Days off. Feet up. !!!!!!, nest drive failed. Good job for backup. Sorted. Nothing lost.

    2 gether with Lady Slack!!

1 Gosh, I do writes some bull. Still it is off the chest. If you can understand, tuff, if not, why?

    Good evening all!

Dundee and Ampersand- I have a confession... I have NEVER listened to the archers ! Dunno why I never have .

CCP -is your foot getting better?

Kittikins and OT- I hope that you are both ok??

    5 for today

    1. Work ok - could be opening a proverbial can of worms with one
company, it all hinges on one bit of information that I need to get sight of.

2.Awake at 4.15 am , tired but enjoyed looking at a fresh :money:weekly email .

3.Someone has written something rude on the dirt on my car - it made me laugh but just wiping it off would scatch the paintwork , as does people writing on it in dust.

    4.Thai green curry for tea.

    5. Managed to avoid eating carp at work from the biscuit tin as they are all "creams" . Yuk !

have a good evening all !
