Dydd Dewi Sant Hapus i chi, my Welsh being extremely ungrammatical.
A good excuse to play my Frank Hennessy and Max Boyce CDs later on.
I lost a biggish post earlier when the page froze, but one thought I wanted to share with you was this. I had a deluge of pmms about the free courses from the company I work with.

That opportunity for you all came about because of my friend whose funeral it was yesterday giving me a foot in the door at my first workplace to get teaching practice.

Had I not got that break I'm not sure what I would have done, but I doubt if I would have been half as happy.

One of the most enthusiastic participants for the courses ( from the 'Toughies' thread ) has the same name as my friend, which was quite nice.
Enjoyed my Friday morning shop for bargains - Savoy cheese for lunch courtesy of Ron Clark the magic greengrocer. Gorgeous sweet grapes too. Yum. Plus my Poundland 'bits'.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Oooh it's late for me! OH and DS were out at an all day music festival and are not long in so I'm now wide awake having been dozing on sofa then into bed from 7pm!!

So it was hurrah for Friday and I did tell my colleague it was St David's day, so hope all the Welsh amongst you have a good day.

Work was fine, ever so glad it was Friday of course, but had a reasonably good morning then a busy afternoon ( read short staffed!!) and did not get out in time!

I then had to spend a load of money on a parking permit for work. Whilst a lot to handover it's once a year and does save money rather than paying a daily ticket fee. I also get to park relatively close to my workplace.

Then I bought some cinema vouchers which are $6 cheaper than buying them at the cinema and kindly owner gives me staff discount so that brings the price down further.

Home, hurrah! Then girls and I went out for dinner. It's DD2 s birthday on Sunday so we decided to start the celebrations early and went out for some very nice Chinese food. Have only recently discovered this restaurant and have to say its very nice and very inexpensive. Staff were very friendly. We used to go to a place in the city where friendliness was not on the menu!

On the way there , we were nearly run off the road by a complete idiot in a jeep twice the size and height of my car, I have hurt my wrist from peeping my horn so hard! Utter idiot! My language was choice, we were all quite shaken by it! But later the girls said they hadn't heard any bad language!
However, we were all fine, no damage was done and I hope he got home safely...he was obviously in a hurry to get in for his tea!

After dinner we wandered over to supermarket and got a few nice things to munch on later. Cheesecake ( lurve cheesecake!) is one of these very expensive things here and I saw a flake one but it was $12 ( tiny thing) About £8.20 .....then looked around and saw an Oreo one for $4 RTC (£2.70) and yes I can eat it by tomorrow! DD2 chose RTC doughnuts and then I also got RTC flowers. Lisianthus are one of my favourite flowers so a nice bunch of white ones and a lovely bunch of pinks carnations with gypsophila . I don't know why flowers are so expensive here but they are! So it was nice to get a couple of bunches ,still in good condition cheap .
Sometimes they are RTC in an absolute drastic state and you wonder who on earth would buy them!

Home and snooooze on sofa, then woke up long enough to shuffle off to bed!

Both my boys had a good day. OH very tired and DS has a sunburned forehead! He met up with friends and they dropped them off home which was nice and saved the girls going home on public transport at night.

Yesterday I went out too visit a friend in the evening and had a good catch up with her which is nice. She has been seconded to a promoted post so was good to hear about that. Had a bit of a laugh which was good as well.

Had made French toast for tea using up the egg yolks from previous days pavlova.

Parrots on a lamppost made me smile on the way to work.

Another heavy shower of rain which is so badly needed for the garden has dried up by the time I got out of work and got my washing out on the line and dried.

Okay it's 1.10 am on scone day so I'm switching off !
Have a lovely day, enjoy your spring like sightings. My favourite season back home is spring, my favourite flower is a daffodil and I love all the signs of promise ahead with trees budding, birds singing and the hint of warmth in the day!

    Five for today are:-

    1. Had a big set to on bedroom 2. The curtains in there were past it's best and found a pair that were brand new in the loft. So took the old ones down and binned them and put the new ones up.

    2. Blitzed said bedroom and turned everything around, and it looks fab. Zero money spent just time.

    3. Email from friend not spoken to in ages.

    4. Cup of chamomile tea not so long ago.

    5. Cuddles with my boys this morning and had a play with Saffy monster in the hallway not long ago.
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

    Afternoon all.

    1) Working from home again today, so I treated myself to a half-hour lie-in.

    2) Really fancied apricot jam for breakfast this morning (I've no idea why), and remembered that I have a jar from a selection pack I picked up very cheaply in a post-Xmas sale. It's very nice jam, too.

    3) NSD and NPD.

    4) Turned some bendy carrots into soup for lunch - with help from other OS'ers, I might even end up with something edible soon. :o

    5) HM pepperoni pizza for dinner tonight, which will more than make up for the dodgy soup.

Here you go, then - the first and,so far, only one in my garden.

Hmm, it's a bit blurred, but never mind - happy St David's Day, everyone. :)

PS - apologies for the over-sized photo - I'm having a few problems with my Ph0t0bucket account at the moment. :([/STRIKE] That's better - I got there in the end!
Back after a very long break!

Katholicos - my Mum used to put all of our crud up the top of the garden if we didn't put it away every Saturday morning usually when I wanted to watch Swap Shop or Tarzan. Dirty crocs and cutlery would have been put inside ofour beds . I kid you not.

    1. Day off

    2. Met OH's soon to be boss and his wife at their home .

    3. Stuck to my £30 per week shopping list we did not shop last week but spent £60 the week before so it sort of evened itself out

4.An older lady in Mr. M asking me to help her reach some croquettes off of the top shelf in the freezer aisle to "borrow my height" had a nice chat with her and teased her as I can't bend to the stuff on the lowest shelf , I said we could come to some sort of arrangement .

    5.Mr. M 1/2 price curry for tea with 37p Naans 60p bhajis and somasa's.

    6. My skylines are all laying and are full of themselves at the moment - its nice to see blue and green eggs in my egg tray.

Sorry I’ve not posted for a couple of days, nothing’s up, I’ve just been tired, I went for a check up today it’s just going to take a while to get over. Have numerous prescriptions and one for some strong painkillers which is a relief.:o

The post from a few days ago but the broken china comment did make me chuckle.

Chicken: Fantastic news for your No2.

1.I thought we could get away without a shop at all this week but you guessed it, it’s Friday the fridge is literally empty and no milk/bread, looks like a late trip out for us later to miss the Friday rush.:p
2.The closed lilys in the flowers from over a week ago now have opened and are the most vivid pink.:)
3.It’s the end of another week, I have moved my pay day this month to be able to get the last week, as I missed 2 weeks this month, a pleasure to be able to, more of a pleasure next week.;)
    4. Of the 20 seeds planted for tomatoes on the window sill about 4 plants are making an appearance, and several weeds. Only one sweet pepper plant of many, and all 20 sunflowers are growing at silly rates.:)
    5. I’ve updated my CV and it’s back on the job boards, not for any bad reasons it’s just my current role is temporary and it will end in a month so best to try and be ahead of the game.

    !

Now that sounds like the kind of thing I would do lol!

    :D

    My 5 for today:

    1. Went grocery shopping with mum. Stocked up on loads of bread stuffs, crumpets, fruited tea cakes, tiger bread etc to fill mr ds hollow legs up, also loads of fruit and veg. Mum doesn't drive so relies on me to help her get the bulk of her shopping with her. Alternatively i get online orders for food and have her groceries delivered with mine. She helps me and mine out in many, many ways so it is nice to be able to do something for her.

    2. Am shattered now. Am in bed but DS has just phoned asking me to pick him up from work tonight. I really don't want to and don't feel up to it but it will be DS last night there tonight so i get to rest more from now on yay :j

    3. Cute collie currently sleeping on my legs...

    4. Have invited mum for lunch with us on sunday, we used to have sundays together often but have got out of the habit and so we are trying to have Sunday afternoons together on alternate Sundays. Don't know what we will eat yet, but have lots of stuff in.

    5. Hmmmm....be back later with number 5...can't think of one right now!

Loving the first daffy picture and the doggy.
NuttyP - so did i, mine smelled of freshly baked bread as we had run out so I put some in the bread machine timed to finish at 6 when OH got up. By 8 o'clock the whole loaf had gone :D, but it was spread between 4 of us for breakfast and / or lunches.
Tealady - still trying to work out what GBK is?
Blimey, Chicken, I wish I could get away with £30 on shopping. Mine was £78 this week and that is a good week. Tho it did include some fruit bushes from @ldi

So, how was my favourite day of the year?

    1. Bought myself some daffodils for St David - I do have a little bit of Welsh blood but it is much more that it is nearly spring.
    2. Cleaned kitchen and mopped floors listening to last night's Front Row interview with Mr Robert of Williams. Love him. Followed by a series on Churchill I have been following on R4Ex
    3. Lunch with friends. One came later for coffee as she went to a special meal at work, which is her DDs and my DS's schoo to celebrate the fact that they got a "good" OFSTED grade - and were almost at "Outstanding"
    4. Made left over beef in beer from a couple of weeks ago into a pie. Didn't write "YUM" though as I was running out of time for
    5. Aquarobics. Can't believe how much i enjoy putting a woggle between my legs and bouncing round the pool like a seahorse

Off for a walk in the countryside tomorrow. DS is really looking forward to it

    YEAH, RIGHT :rotfl:
I wanna be in the room where it happens
