Evening all
1. Standing for ages just watching the laundry billowing in the breeze and sunshine, then later taking it in dry and smelling so good. No fabric softener, just natural fresh air
2. Mended the buckle on a pair of favourite boots with @raldite.
3. Washed a pair of brown leather gloves in olive oil soap and gave them a last rinse with olive oil in the water. They're lovely and soft again now
4. Had eggy bread for tea using the left-over egg & milk wash I used when making scones yesterday.
5. Sorting out the finances (sounds good but it's p's rather than £'s) as it's almost the end of the financial year and found to my horror I'd forgotten a very small PO account, the interest of which has dropped to less that 1%. Closed and moved to join an a/c paying a more sensible amount.
6. Lovely long siesta this afternoon, just going to watch Hugh's Fish Fight before bed
Sleep tight0 -
Nuttybabe, i have purchased the body shop reed diffusers in the past, and i agree they are lovely
Rightio, my 5 for today...
1. Hobbled around garden with pooch. Did a bit of gardening, it was quite mild while i was out. Saw lots of buds on the redcurrant, blackcurrant bushes. Moved the 2 gooseberry bushes, they are only very small. Though now i have moved them, i think i will move them again as not happy with where i have put them.
2. Today was nsd number 20. Think it is quite possibly the best i have ever done, though i have a vague memory that i once reached 21 nsds. Maybe that was wishful thinking.
3. Dd is not talking to me. Thats not a pleasure, the pleasure is that i have had enough of her using the lounge as a dumping ground for all her crud; used cups, bowls, plates, cutlery, empty packets, used kitchen roll/ tissues/bits of food, socks, toiletries with lids off, things spilling out etc. folders, files, scraps of paper, etc. she has been keeping her room really nice but wants to trash the living room with her stuff instead. Well enough is enough.
4. Crazy collie had a mad time outside. Boundless energy that one. Love to see her so happy, but did have to stop her digging as she makes a right mess everywhere.
5. Going to make a cup of tea in a min and then will come back to bed and draw up some more garden plans. Just. Wish i had something sweet to eat, really fancy something nice but don't have anything in and don't want to mess about making anything as i feel shattered.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Evening all
Chicken - coo £58 not to be sniffed at.
Kittikins - has it been a year since you moved? blimey time moves fast
Todays
1. I don't have to teach a particular group ever again :T
2. Lunch with an old colleague. I really admire her, she has been through so much and is such a strong woman. I am glad she is still keen to keep in touch since she took early retirement.
3. My "fast" day was not so difficult today. Had a small jacket spud with colleague and soup when I got home. My egg white only omelette was surprisingly palatable.
4. DD is getting on well with the boy she is going on her first date with on Sunday. he asked her to help him learn his lines (I know, different to etchings eh?:D)
5. It is March tomorrow.:j Somehow I have made it through another winter (if anyone tells me that it may still snow, or be cold or whatever you are wasting your breath cos I ain't listening)
Day off tomorrow :T:j:beer:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1) fab full irish for brekkie :P
2) yummy fruit platter at lunch followed by nice walk round the park. Beautifully sunny
3) saw the cs lewis reading room at queens uni. The door is like an old wardrobe one. I think they should hang fur coats in it to walk through :-)
4) very nice meal - squash risotto followed by fish pie nom nom
5) then a walk to an old pub restored by the national trust. Of course we had whiskey :-)
Conference day tomorrow then back home in the evening. Have a good day off all those taking an early weekend, get well soon all those with feet ailments, congrats kittikins on one yearMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Can't believe you have been there a year, Kittikins!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Have been discharged by the psych nurse! After 6 years (on and off).
3) Had chips for my lunch.
4) Back to hospital after lunch to see the physio. Apparently I have an "unstable hip joint". Can't help thinking of it wobbling about as I walk now!
5) Sons on quite good form tonight.
6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
7) Made a big chicken curry plus rice.
8) Managed to tidy up a bit and got some stuff together to help smaller son with his homework. He has to invent a shield for himself for history. So far we have decided on a dragon to represent his father's surname, a fish for mine then there is a symbol that represents the day of son's birth (for example, if you were born on Valentines Day you could have a heart - he has a birthday like that), then he can have the Millennium logo for the year.
9) In bed (early for me) with hwb and smaller son asleep and about to watch Child of Our Time on iplayer as bigger son was born in the same year as the children featured.0 -
Too pooped to think of 5 today, not that there haven't been any, but just wanted to thank everyone for your contributions to this wonderfully uplifting and heart warming thread. It really is amazing. Thank you! (am not drunk, even if I sound a bit slushy!)0

Oooh I've been to that pub - when I was at a conference in Belfast! It's lovely - we had a "do" upstairs with a Ceilidh (sp?) band. It is a fab place
Happy March 1st everyone, and "Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant Hapus" to the Welsh!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
katholicos we did much the same yesterday, admired all the green buds and shoots coming through. I don't know what half of them are, my gardening is 'see it, like it, buy it', the label goes in the red flower pot in the shed and gets mixed up with all the others. There's no knowing what will come up where or when!
DD thank you for the pub info, I'm collecting all the details of places friends have been to in Ireland so that when I can afford it I'll take DGD2 as she wants to go there
Not quite so sunshiny today but going to coffee with a friend who has a beautiful old cottage in the country, the real roses round the door sort
I can't speak Welsh, certainly not with the accent VJsmum has (takes years of practice, right?) so I'll just say Happy St David's Day to all, have a good one

Morning
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Packed breakfasts and lunches for everyone again. I did buy a packet of crisps though as just had that need in the afternoon at work.
2. DD college parents evening went very well. The tutor is really pleased with her and said what a ploite mature student she is. I did have to look behind me to check she wasn't talking to someone else. They are really helping with the learning needs she has and are happy to do it as she is so eager to learn. After all the hassle of school years this is amazing.
3. As a treat for good reports we went to GBK for dinner, naughty but nice.
4. Had felt very tired and grumpy all day so had an early night when got in and slept very well. Not so tired today but still feel a bit on the grumpy side but think this may be hormanal more than anything else.:o
5. Meal planning done for the week taking into account the various special offers on so should get the food shopping under budget again. I think I am going to start putting the excess money in a pot so that I can then put it to some use at a later date rather than it just get swallowed up into the household black money hole.
Hugs to all who need them.0
