    Afternoon all.

I thought I'd get my pleasures in early today:

    1) Afternoon off so my recalcitrant office pooter was only half as annoying as usual.

    2) Not very OS, but I got my oven professionally cleaned. :o I try to do most things myself but I hate hate hate cleaning the oven, so I reckon it's a good investment to get someone to do it for me once a year or so. And, as the cleaner said, it keeps a roof over his head so everyone wins! ;)

    3) Managed to argue a £200 refund of overpaid money from my energy company: the gentleman I spoke to kept saying it would cost me more as I'd have to pay extra to make up the difference, but when he worked it out my monthly payments will actually be exactly the same as they had revised my monthly payments down without asking me. <roll eyes>

    4) Wrote another few hundred words of essay. I'll finish it properly over the weekend. Honest. :o

    5) Central heating. I usually try to resist putting it on when I'm at home during the day, but it's really chilly today and I've got £200 coming my way soon anyway... ;)

Did I read that sign right? ...............

Would you mind posting a warning notice at the top of posts like that in future, please? I was reading while eating my lunch and spluttered lettuce leaves everywhere! :rotfl:

Kittikins - hope all went well today: you'll be in to let us know soon, won't you?
Back after a very long break!
  • Good evening all !

Tealady - totally agree my OH would live off of takeaways - It physically hurts to think of the amount of money that we can spend , when I can make a fakeaway one - like tonight !

    CCP - £200 well done :D

    ampersand - loved the quotes.

Mcculloch -Its nice to have you back x

VJsmum - its good to hear that your FN seems to be doing ok , in the circumstances.

BoP- Brut 33;) Splash it on all over 'enry:rotfl:

    5 for today

    1. Site visit went well .

    2. Worked through my lunch break so took it at 3.30 pm, at home:D

    3. My friend and ex colleague told me that she has resigned and hopes to become a foster parent. She is on a course in the building that I work in tomorrow so can't wait to see her.It is not often I get visitors from my "old life" when I worked in the community.

4.Waste of money of the century ..my whole team have got to go to the big smoke for a course which lasts for 4 hours one hour of which is lunch .So this is why we haven't had a pay increase in 3 years !!

    5.Chinese fakeaway for tea.

Have a good evening all !

  • Chicken bizzies. Brut 33. Used to carry the spray can round and light it. Best fly repellent ever. As for putting on my face, ... no.

Good luck skint. Wear something neutral.

5 Just back from a recession hit town. Derelict factories where hammers no longer pound. It is the economy, as long as the government does not spend, no one else does. The further I get from the capital, the worse it is.

And no amount of social engineering is going to fix that.

4 Good meeting though, we put the world to rights, planned a trip to mars and even talked about the cricket. Good lunch.

3 Off to SPARRA shires tomorrow, so will check in later.

2 Bonus nite with Lady Black.

    1 It is the ecomony.

& You need a Round Tuit. We have one at our work and it helps us get things done. One spin and we get the answer on the Round Tuit.

Skint - that's great news! :T We've all got our fingers crossed for next week. :)

Chicken - erm... perhaps not the best choice of words there, for a job involving caring for sick animals? Sorry. :o
Back after a very long break!
  • CCP - HA ! Never thought of that ! Come on though I would hardly have meant it . I give more dosh to animal charities, and scoop up more unwanted critters than most folk would dream of.

  • Forgot to post yesterday so my five for the last few days;

    1. Awesome sandwich. Essentially ham, cheese and pickle but really posh yet also cheap and OS. Basics Brie, thick sliced ham from a joint I'd cooked myself, the last scrap of m&s damson chutney from the Xmas cheese board glitch and half a sesame baguette that would have previously gone to waste. It was delicious

    2. Yesterday was cleaning day and I went all out and gave everywhere a thorough clean.

    3. Lovely breezy bright day yesterday, got my washing line dried :T today was a weird combination of huge snowflakes the size of £2 coins and bright sunshine - very strange weather today.

    4. Got an idea for a blog, just pondering whether I have the guts to do it!

    5. Going to have a long soak in the bath then go to bed early and read my book.

  • Argh dammit, I wrote a nice long post and lost the lot.
Sparrer and Mcccollough, Hope things calm down with the families.
Sparrer I laughed out loud at the sweeping fur up comment, I can seriously relate I have been wearing boring black things to work, but I cuddle an animal before I go and voila it’s black and white.
Kittikins: How did you get on
    Skint: Aww fantastic a vets...:j

    1. Hmm work was ok but boss in a foul mood, a pleasure to be home.
    2. Had a call off an old role offering me a role a pleasure to say thanks but no thanks.;)
    3. About to cook up a HM carbonara.:D
    4. Errr I can’t think up a 4 and 5 at the moment, but will make them up other days:):)

    1. At the time, the interview was fabulous, I think they loved my presentation (although I forgot to say lots of things I wanted to in my alloted 2-3 minutes!), my passion will certainly have come through, my French was rather passable (or hopefully better than that!)...... I'm just worried that they'll think I'm a total over the top wierdo or not up to it academically or something! Oh well, up to a month to wait to find out.....and you'll be amongst the first to know the news!

    2. The train journeys went smooooooothly than goodness!

    3. Helpful people on the bus to chat to - whilst I interviewed in the town I went to secondary school in, it's changed a lot and I never took the bus in those days. Got chatting to a woman who went to my old school! Small world :0

    4. People at the uni were very friendly, it was a much better experience than when I went for the open day, so I'm really excited at the possibility of incurring huge debts, having no social life and little mummy/daughter time for a year and studying there :)

    5. Lovely good luck texts from OH and chums.

    6. My exhusband has, once again, paid his maintenance nice and early in the month and without me having to *shudder* text to ask where it is! Maybe he wants to avoid my rare texts, wouldn't surprise me.....lol

    7. I've sold another of my dad's castoff CDs :)

    8. The money for the other sold CDs has come through, paid for my lunch today!

    9. DD had a fab time with her friend after school, so grateful to her mummy, my friend, for helping me out two weeks in a row!

    10. One of my co-applicants (thankfully not for my particular course) grew up and lives in the small town near my parents! I'm bound to bump into her all the time when we visit now, lol. She was lovely to chat to.
