Evening.
Five pleasures for Monday:
1. Started a very nice bottle of Body Shop shower gel this morning - Christmas prezzie.
2. Busy day getting lots of errands and shopping done for the week including taking stuff to CS and recycling another sackful of paper rubbish.
3. I cleared out another shelf of books.
4. I let a woman go ahead of me at the supermarket till because I had a trolley full that was taking me ages to unload. She was really grateful and gave me the '£3 off your next shop' voucher that she'd just received in thanks. Amazingly kind and much appreciated.
5. DSs both emerged from their sports session this evening (I collected them after the supermarket) in really good moods.
Sweet dreams,

Good morning all !
PK - that was lucky topping up on rtc animogs food in the unbroken freezer. The COL sounds really cosy and its yours. Not been in once since I was a kid .
VJsmum - I am sorry to hear that your annual appraisal with yourself did not go so well. Still, I would set yourself some performance targets - your Continual Professional Development is important and I think that you should come down souff and try a working in a different setting - mine!It might be just the change you need ! You would feel right at home with my Tamworth in situ.
Mcculloch - thank you ! I hope that you are not too badly burnt? Did you see the "Horse Hoarder " last night on CH4??
Have a good day all !

Hello, Tuesday evening here with a lovely ,almost delicious cool breeze coming through the patio doors.
Been another hotty and dreadful fires in some areas though nowhere near here thank goodness. I do find the hot days and the hot winds frightening.
So, I've been wide awake since 2 am and I'm hopeful I might just sleep tonight.
1. Pottering around, lots of little things need doing in the house, like sorting out my napkin shelf, the cake case shelf, the recipe book shelf ( i live in a house of many cupboards!) the big pantry cupboard where I keep glass wear , crockery and plates.....no one else shares my need for order in this cupboard and the distress it causes ( slight OCD methinks!) when people...you know who you are number one son!....just fling things in!
Calm restored as I sorted my shelves!!
I must not buy anymore napkins , any more cake cases and probably don't need any recipe books but unfortunately I'm a sucker for all of them!
DD1 and I went to post office to collect a parcel and had a nice chat with the staff......as they couldn't find it but then they did!
Popped into the library and had a flick through some magazines.
Popped into the charity shops ( deposited 2 bags of stuff!) but I really, really do not need anything...though did see a lovely skirt I might go back and get!
Had a wee snooze on sofa....one minute was chatting to DD1 then......zzzzzzz
Friend from Sydney phoned so had a nice blether with her.
DD2 and I wandered up to library to avail ourselves of their air con and Internet! Watched the 3 rd episode of Neil Oliver's ' Vikings ' series. I had watched the first 2 from my roomy seat in business class! I really enjoyed it and do like his style of presenting.
Home and finished off the lasagne I had started earlier. Used grated cheese I had frozen before leaving for UK. 1 portion of bolognese and 3 lasagne for freezer and 1 portion for DD1's lunch tomorrow before she goes to work.
Made a pear sponge which looks quite beautiful...hope it tastes good too.
Lovely card from my friend living in France for a year, wishing me a bonne annee.
My eucalyptus tree at front of house has shed all it's bark so will use it for mulch in the front garden. It looks all shiny and new.
I enquired about joining the book club at library, so have an email address to contact the organizer.
I want to do some 'me' things this year....last year was not that kinda year!! I want to reclaim some sense of being in control ( slight control freaky ness!) that I lost last year when OH was ill. I want to regain a better life/ work balance than past few months have afforded. I want to 'do' more career wise so I'm on the look out for a new job.......anyway we'll see how I get on with my 'wants'!
Hope you all have a lovely Tuesday whatever you're up to....off to break into a beautiful sponge:)0 -
Good evening all !
mhagster -You having some "you" time this year - I would drink to that  Not the easiest 2012 for your little family.
5 for today
1. Work ok
2 .Ongoing "sensitive" complaint at work dealt with.. I hope .
3. I have heard that the manager of one of the companies that I am due to audit is terrified at the thought of my visit in two weeks time. This is really sad as they are really good - I will need to reassure him again ,that I don't bite !
4.Mushroom tagliatelle for tea.
5 OH is out tonight - I fancy lazing around on the sofa tbh

1. First full day of the 'real job' rather than fun training today, it was great and I feel really happy about being there
2. DD and I were mega-organised this morning; lunches, clothes and books all ready by last night, she very kindly set the table for breakfast for us and we were out on time - yay! Long may it last.....
3. NSD, the year is starting very well
4. Wonder of all wonders, exHusband has paid his maintenance "early" by his standards this month.
5. Neighbour popped over with a box of choccies for DD and I as a belated Christmas present, the lovely man
6. Yummy YS toasted teacake for afternoon tea when we got home, there's just one left for us to fight over tomorrow
7. Dinner is freezer surprise, feeling quite peckish already, it must be that early start this morning!
8. Our clothes are all ready for the morning, just packed lunch/breakfast stuff to prepare.
9. My mum's birthday present for later in the month arrived already - from China! It wasn't expected until the end of the month/beginning of February, so very impressed0 -
