Morning. Yellow thing not up yet.

5 Still no report about that single pregnant girl.

4 Bacon on, sausages on. Now is it hoops, beans or short strands.

3 All Pressies are warped and under the tree.

2 Need more icing sugar, for the Christmas pudding flaming tomorrow. Go well after the Fish, chips and mushy peas! Just need the crab for the chilli fish cake starter now. Shop open at seven. & will think of the green token in Messers Rose and Waite's. Normally leave mine on the top if I canna decide, so has you reverbed one of mine? Glad it went to someone's choice. Mind you, I never put in the fullest one either.

    1 Is he here yet?

Oh and SPARRA what happens if you fall in. I got no water wings. Dad put me on the swim course at Scaffa Baffs (Scartho Pool in Grimsby) in the 60's. I managed to get three free courses (very early MSE) though it was two courses before I got through the foot bath.

    so far today

    1. good sleep (for me anyway). went to bed at 10.30 was woken at 11.45 by neighbours pary guests going home and making enough noise to wake the whole street. Then someone decided to send me a text message and phone was downstairs so had to get up and put phone on silent so it wasnt blinking blinging all night. Back to bed and managed to sleep until 6am

    2. "friend" who I was supposed to be meeting for lunch today (at her insistance btw) has let me down and decided shes now doing something else with her OH. But that will make today a NSD for me ... every cloud I suppose as I have already overspent on Christmas this year

Not sure I will be back later so.....Have a lovely Christmas eve, Christmas day everyone. May it be peaceful and joyful. See you in the new Year

Sparrer - how lovely about your great granddaughter
Chicken - my sister has just got a jack russell puppy. I am not a dog person, :D tho the comedy value was good and he got my kids out for a walk so it's not all bad. I think he was pretending to be a cat as he kept trying to win me over (how is it that cats know if you don't like them and make a bee line for you? - I'm not a cat person either :p)
Welcome KK - I am trying to work out how you can be a few minutes from Leicester city centre when your location is "oxfordshire" ;):) I used to work at Leicester college and love Leicester - especially "the Good Earth"
Ampersand - hope you enjoy your trip
BoP - enjoy the crab and salmon and pays, as we say near hear (though usually preceded by "faggits")
    Welcome back DD

    So for the weekend

    1. GOt there and back without incident - given the atrocious conditions for driving, there is much to be thankful for
    2. Dad was on his best behaviour - he isn't always when the kids are there
    3. Lovely evening and morning with my beautiful sister. Her little boy's behaviour had improved beyond measure - I think he has been taken over by the dog :rotfl:
    4. I am cutting down the amount of wine I drink as I can feel how bad for me it is (physically and mentally) and my sister can be a bad influence (I know, I know - "she made me") but managed to only have 2 glasses, which I enjoyed, and woke up clear headed.
    5. Started packing for tenerife:T
    6. DS, who had seemed a bit down and a bit anxious, seems to be better
    7. My shorts still fit :T
8 Fish finger sandwich when we got in last night - with a cheeky glass of vino (hmm makes a mockery of the above)

A busy day today, but with little stress. A bit of wrapping, gotta go and get some Euros, and packing. I might clean the bathrooms, but if not then not.

Don't know how much I'll be around in the next week and a half so have a lovely christmas everyone and a peaceful and happy new year. Thank you for your posts this year - this is the bestest thread on the forums.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Morning all.

Apologies for the lack of post yesterday - I was out all day at the Olympia Horse Show, and hadn't slept well due to Mog's new fondness for early morning carol singing (Meow to the World, 'Meow' the Herald Moggy Sings - everything except Silent Night, in fact! ;)) and I just wanted to go to bed! So, a little late, here's my pleasures for yesterday:

    1) Got a taxi down to meet the rest of the group I was going out with, and my driver turned out to be a great fan of equestrian sports, so we spent the journey talking about showjumping, dressage and horse racing - thanks to mcculloch's interesting posts I now know enough about the last one to hold a conversation, so thanks very much! :T

    2) Journey to and from London was very smooth - we only saw one traffic jam, and we were out of that within 15 minutes or so.

    3) A very pleasant day watching the horses, although I've got to go and email them a complaint about the shocking marshalling in a minute - I don't know what was on his phone that was so interesting, but it was clearly far more entertaining than doing his job, so he didn't.

    4) Managed not to bring any ponies home with me, despite falling in love with the Best in Show Fells pony (I'd ask Father Christmas for him, but I don't think he'd fit in my stocking :(), but did buy a couple of pairs of earrings. :o

    5) Exchanged smiles with Olympic medallist Ben Maher, and my sister apparently did the same with Clare Balding. :)

    6) Got home, watched the evening showjumping on TV (my 5ky subscription is a luxury, but I do love it :o), ate some SO smoked salmon, and was in bed and asleep by 10.30. And was awake again at 5.30, with Meow in a Manger ringing in my ears. smiley-rolleyes010.gif

I'm going away for Christmas so might not be in for a few days (I have to log off my mum's MSE account and into my own, so it will depend on whether I can remember my password :o) - if I'm not here, Merry Christmas, everyone!

    PS - Skint - no, I hadn't spotted that - :rotfl:.
Back after a very long break!

Welcome KK, never too early for Christmas, or any other good wishes! :)
Ha ha BoP I know the feeling. I can swim but only in a straight line top to bottom :D. The early breakfast sounds yum, I've only just finished my spicy, fruity porridge. Must get a move on!
CCP and mog, happy Meownday! Pleased you enjoyed Olympia, always one of the highlights of our year when DD was at home.
VJsmum have a lovely time in the sun (bah humbug :p)
Skint no I'd not seen it but thanks for pointing (pun intended) it out, it made me smile :)
Hugs Frith, they'll be home tomorrow. Must admit I watched The Snowman too, never tire of innocent things like that. The crumble sounds amazing, one to try in the not too distant future (Weds, maybe :D)
5 Ampersand, the green token has to go in the least full one, of course!

Just need to pop to garden centre for plants for my hostesses tomorrow (DD for the day, friends for the evening), will probably have a little smile to myself as I drive past the mania going on at the supermarket...
Have a calm day, back later with my 5 :)
  • Good morning all !

Skintos - yep the Tiny Terrier" has got me hook line and sinker, it's not yappy or snappy ,she snores like a Tamworth and looks like a piglet when she is flat out on her side :D She has settled down nicely. Apparently, previous owner had a new boyfriend who was "allergic" to her ... guess which one I would have got rid of !!

Frith- gosh your ex doesn't do things by halves does he?? Let me guess .. I bet it's everyone elses fault ?? Hhhm sounds like one of my ex partners 22 years ago now it but still makes my flesh crawl.

CCP - get abigger stocking ;)

    5 for yesterday

    1. Tiny Terrier getting all of her toys out of her box ,one by one for my other sister who met her for the first time.

2.Made a posh bread and butter pudding with some Pannetone which had exceeded its sell by date.

3.Balti in slow cooker with rtc chicken.

    4. Some washing dried on line.

    5. Watching Mr Stink on the Beeb-and laughed my socks off . These type of "stories" are usually playing in my head anyway :rotfl:

Have a good xmas eve all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • VJsmum- I forgot to say -HAVE A LOVELY HOLIDAY !!! Hope your OH has made it this time !!

    1. It's Christmas Eve.

    2. I'm taking the doggies for walk later and I hope it won't rain.:p
