Me, too, in other direction this time, hoping for sight of new lady vicar, so far unseen after several in-post months.
She doesn't yet write in village mag. each month as previous incumbent did.
Was told her husband was our organist last night though. Sorry if I say service lacked any spark, musical joy, spirit of inclusion, cohesion.
Try again, half past ten.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Merry Christmas!
MHags - that all sounds very nice! I like a potato cake with a cooked breakfast so quite fancy the potato scones as well. Although I could also pinch a bit of &s smoked salmon. Can you tell I haven't actually got up yet and am hungry?! Kittikins - hope you and Miss Kittikins are much better today. & - hope your young friend improves today. Mum's 5pm service at church yesterday (she is the organist) had 100 people which is around 91 more than normal! She was shocked and there were not enough mince pies to go round!
Everything is ready for the boys' return. Santa ate the mince pie and drank the glass of sloe gin last night (and could do with a cup of tea now). I think getting the stocking fillers together is my favourite part of Christmas. This year they've both got lights for their bikes (very reasonable off Amazon), a little Lego torch, some glow sticks, some post it notes (sounds dull but they like leaving messages or making treasure hunts and sticking clues up!), a pack of pencils, a pack of socks, a little tin in the shape of a car full of chocolates and a cookie cutter in the shape of their initial. They also have new pyjamas every Christmas Eve so those are waiting for them to wear tonight.
Best get up! I'm having dinner at mum and dad's and sons are back at 3. Lots of present opening then we're having tea back at mum and dad's and I think my school friend is coming round later in the evening.
Have a great day!0 -
Joy to the world. Good service. Now for a piggy day.
Fish and chips are off.
Mushroom soup
Crab cakes
Salmon en croute, homemade of course, with nips and cauliflower cheese, parsley sauciness.
And at five, the pudding in whisky sauce. HMS Sheffield ensures that no French wine or brandy is used.

1. Long lie in this morning.
2. Nice roast dinner with all the trimmings to look forward too.
3. I'm about to make a start on the booze.:p
4. Scrooged is on later, love that film.:rotfl:
5. A few people in my family and hubbie's family have been having bad health and accidents this year so I'm grateful that my household is healthy.0 -

Officially stuffed!
Chicken breast wrapped in soft cheese and bacon, boiled baby potatoes, roastie parsnips, carrot and turnip mash and the yummiest sprouts!
No room for pudding at the moment!
Have been to the beach just like the last 2 Christmases .......blooming freezing! However it just had to be done:)
Been visited and been visiting.....am now off for a wee snooze!0 -
Hope everyone has had a goo day and spread goodwill.
SPARRA. Cat has refused the crab! Must be the buttered whisky on his paws.
& And others. Prayers were said to all who are in, need and had care this year. Thoughts with the boy. Had single pneumonia in 1991, so know how it is.
5 Dinner is done. Pudding has just had the sprinkle of icing sugar, splashed with single malt and fired. Flame was dancing around or a minute. Absolute fab. Two servings gone, enuff now for later, Easter and summer.
4 Monopoly etc. It is a game that can finish. We has a special toy in case it is needed, a tonka bulldozer. Moves the game on a bit.
3 TV is in off mode today. Just caught up on some music, may iPlayer later. Has downloaded some from the & selection for next week.
2 Still mis mum. Thirty seven years. Far too young.

Thankyou for those prayers and thoughts bop. I will know more later.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Not a good night last night, mutt was very poorly with what I'd say is the canine equivalent of norovirus
. Up all night clearing up after him, then just sitting stroking him all listless and sorry for himself.
1. However by midday he was almost back to his normal self so I went to DD's for a truly delicious lunch and spent a fun couple of hours with her, SiL and the grandchildren
2. Got back 4pm, spend an hour with the dog to make sure he was okay, which he seemed to be (but put him on starvation for the day just in case) then risked going out....
3. ...to friends I've never visited before and didn't get lost although they live in a large town which is a maze of houses all looking much the same
4. Had a lovely tea then we went to meet more friends for the evening
5. Not long home, changed into jimmies and relaxing on the sofa with the dog asleep beside me and a nice hot cuppa after a lovely day. I'm truly blessed with my family and friends
Hope you all had as warm and happy a day as I did, sweet dreams0 -
Have had a lovely, peaceful day and DSs are happy.
More 'get well quickly' thoughts to everyone in need - and that includes Sparrer's dog and Ampersand's young friend. Hope the little boy is pulling through OK.
Big hugs and thanks to everyone. This small corner of the MSE Forum is a very special place.
