Prayers, healing thoughts and plenty of Christmas tree fairy magic to your 'little fella' from me, too, Ampersand.
Actually, our Christmas tree fairies are two HM, elderly peg dolls made by the DSs when they were little. and they (the peg dolls not the DSs) look completely sozzled and have drunken grins on their faces, rather too large black or red eyes (like makeup that's smudged after a night on the tiles) and very dishevelled clothing. I'm sure they do brilliant magic though. They make an appearance at the top of the tree every Christmas - very fond of them I am.
My pleasures for Monday:
1. Good lunch round at my parents for the annual Christmas family get together.
2. The A roads we were driving along to their place were like causeways amidst endless flooded fields. It was beautiful but I'm thankful that so much of the flood plain is still undeveloped and can do its job properly. (We're now on flood warning because the river climbed fast today but it seems to be sinking again and although we've got the house flood ready again, it still looks very homely with the Christmas tree twinkling.)
3. Lots of nice little bits and pieces of food, as treats over the next few days.
4. The feeling that our world is going to go quiet for a few days.
5. I've decided not to inflict my cough on the Midnight Mass at the church down the road so have just switched on the service on Radio 4 to have it in the background while I fix all the little presents to the tree. I love this tree decorating time.
Happy Christmas everyone and sleep well and, for those of you with excited young children, I hope you don't get woken too early!

Prayers for the little one Ampersand xx
I'm feeling much better today, DD spent most of the day in bed, but was up for a bit this afternoon/evening. Hopefully on the mend, poor little thing xx
1. The delight on her face as she watched Morecambe and Wise
2. Watching Two Ronnies stuff with my dad
3. Yummy food and I don't have to cook it!
4. A couple of new family phrases and words have hit the memory banks
5. I'm feeling much better than I did yesterday.
Merry Christmas to one and all x0 -
1. A Joyous Christmas to you all and thanking you for every thought and prayer for little L.
2. Back to find one hyacinth spear of flower has burst through - pink!
3. I'll even back Piers Morgan, against whom I hear over 30,000 gun-lovers have signed a petition calling for his deportation, when he called one of their luminaries 'an unbelievably stupid man' for declaring that MORE guns, not fewer, would mean fewer gun killings in the good ole u.s. of a. For good measure, the undeniably flawed boy Piers threw in some telling comments on the gun lobby's failure to even recognise or care about the obvious linkage of gun ownership to last week's death spree [more earlier tonight in New York - firefighters enticed to scene and shot: 2 dead, 2 critically injured.]
4. As I approached Church, r4 service spoke of prayer for those who are in a particular situation. Earlier in afternoon, the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from Kings accompanied bleak, floody Gog Magogs drive. I knew success was unlikely, but had to try and a small gain was promised. I believe it will be carried out.
5. Crimbo cake fairy[it was moi, say you didn't guess...]sneaked one of three along to neighbour's earlier. Back now to very happy message. Prosecco and smoked salmon in a few hours.
6. R4 news just heard - 'official sightings of Father Christmas over the United Kingdom have just been confirmed'.
Bonne Nuit et Joyeux Noël. i-player thanks again for Kings College on now.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Thoughts and prayers going out for the little lad and his family, and all who are feeling poorly. get well now
1 A lovely peaceful day with no prep to do for tomorrow
2. Went to the garden centre and bought plants for tomorrows hosts, using a gift voucher I've had in my purse since last Summer
3. Lovely neighbour gave me too many pressies, including a garden centre voucher which just covered the cost of the plants
4. Thanks to Frith some friends and I have had fun tracking the sleigh all evening. Still waiting for it to arrive in UK, I think Santa's lost his way - typical man, refuses to ask for directions..
5. Got some lovely loose teas, one of which I'm just drinking before lights out
Merry Christmas everyone, have a joyful and blessed day :santa2:,
eta ampersand seems the man in the red suit appeared while I was typing
BoP forgot to say feed the poor creature some of that crab, no wonder he's yowling!0 -
I'm assuming that's Frith's non-working-for-me linky?
Don't know if anyone heard talk about the Maori Christmas being in NZ mid-winter and the natural human instinct for festival/feast at this deep time of dark, low light, low food supply. Mention popped up during sth science-y en route back from no. 4 in earlier post. I have never heard of this.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Okay will try again, must be the new way to post things.
I am having a wonderful if very jetlagged time back home.
Country cottage is gorgeous , everything single thing you could need has been provided and then more.
The essentials like a Christmas tree, sweets, wine, home made cakes and mince pies were left for us.
2 of my fabulous best friends had sneaked goodies in for us , so lovely things for eating .
Rain, wind and more rain but hey, it's Scotland!
Catching up with friends and family, lovely to see everyone .
Kids being okay this morning not getting anything other than a tube of sweets from us....remember we did Christmas last weekend.
Lovely breakfasts of slice sausage and potato scones.....not for everyday but so nice as an annual treat for us!
Have been reintroduced to my gorgeously funny great niece and we are going to see her this morning.
My doggy being so pleased to see us! She is coming to visit us this morning with my mum.
Enjoying a daily bath and not having to be mindful of using water , as we are back home in Oz.
Realizing that we do have 2 homes in our heart....our Scottish and our Australian ones.
Proper haircuts! With my hairdresser who kindly squeezed us in on Christmas eve.
Have a lovely Christmas day whatever you are getting up to.0 -
I know what lost posts feel like, mhags. Merry Christmas to you, too - and congratulations on successful one above:-)
bop - train set cancelled due to flooding and more biblical downpours forecast.
The little fella is still asleep. Santa has been round the wards[perhaps your train set was worthily diverted, bop] Depending how things shape over next 8 hrs, tfr may be delayed in hope that lung drainage will self-start if little chap's system can cope.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Oh nose, rudolf type, &. If downpour is biblical, then I think cat will need water wings.
Off to Christmas day service, sharing the joy.0
