I feel really organised, I ploughed through the piles of paperwork making a mess of the place, wrote a cheque, shredded a lot.
I’m feeling a bit down, hoping it will pass, but it’s definitely a bit of a funk seems to hit me broad side.
Spent some lovely time in the company of good friends lots of chatter and laughter.:)
Had a lovely Chinese takeaway not MSE at all, but a lovely treat.
Tidied well just a little bit.
Listened to some Christmas music.0 -
Just got into bed so here are my pleasures for today quickly...
1) A lie in! Didn't wake up until 9. Smaller son woke up too and said to me "But it's light!"
2) Christmas card and cheque from my auntie in the US.
3) Letter from school to confirm exclusion has been withdrawn.
4) Popped to mum and dad's for a cup of tea and dad wanted to buy a book for mum so I did it over the internet for him.
5) Changed beds and did 3 loads of washing. Bit of a tidy up too.
6) My school friend came over in the late afternoon.
7) We went swimming and I managed 900 metres!
8) Watched Casualty.
9) Good chat with friend who has not long left.
10) Now in bed with 2 hwb and about to listen to yesterday's Now Show.0 -
Have has a lovely day..we are having a m- early Christmas ....exchanged gifts and had a lovely Christmas dinner. It has been such a nice day and I'm glad we have done it this way this year.
1. Got up early....but so did everyone else! Thought I'd have a couple of hours to myself....but obviously they were keen to see if Santa had been early! He had!
2. Made pavlova, cupcakes and then pancakes using up the egg yolks . So pancakes and hot chocolate for breakfast .
3. OH and I went out for a Sunday scone ( I don't like pancakes much) and it was a seasonal scone...? Cranberry?
4. Home, hung out some washing , taking a chance as it had been lashing with rain earlier ,however ,dried and ironed and halo polished!
5. Went to library, hoping to watch casualty from last week but it wasn't on. Watched the recording of a wee Scottish boys funeral. He died a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful and moving service to celebrate his life.
6.home and m-early Christmas lunch was all ready, just to be plated up...on my Christmas china. We had chicken, roast pots, roast parsnips ( my favourite ) carrot and turnip mash , peas . Pavlova with strawberries and cream for pudding. DS won the lucky cracker which had $10 in it!
Totally stuffed! I am trying to resist snoozing!
7. OH received a ukulele from Santa and has been playing it this afternoon and is already very good at it. ( he plays guitar) so have been enjoying that.
Have a great day, give your loved ones a hug and be thankful for them.0 -
Purple kitten sorry to hear you are feeling down, hope it passes soon x
MHags sounds like a lovely early-xmas day !
for yesterday
1. missed a parcel last week & re-arranged delivery for saturday and it actually arrived ! It came about 10am so I could get on with other things
2. cleaning. Not a pleasure in doing itbut a pleasure to see the results. Lots of washing also done and on line... DS bedding and 6 bath towels (DS showers at college a couple of times a week) plus various hand towels/tea towels. The weather was dry and blowy and so they were mostly dry by mid afternoon thankfully as thats when the rain started
3. ironing. again the pleasure is I dont have to look at it any more
4. afternoon snooze.Still finding it hard going to shake this virus
5. DS and g/f came in from town all excited after their xmas shopping trip. HM curry, oven chips & nan breads for tea
More washing and ironing to do today. DS has another driving lesson at 2pm still using the 5 hours for £50 offer. I'm hoping to sit down and write my xmas cards this afternoon. I left cards with my mum in august to hand out to immediate family. I've sent all the other ones needing stamps/posting last week (using the free stamps royal mail gave me when a parcel failed to turn up as arranged in september/october) Just local friends/neighbours & work collegues left to do.

Morning all - just enjoying a lie in as everyone else is asleep and don't want to wake them. Dunno where OH is - must've taken to the spare room. The Tamworth Pig decides to occupy his own sty sometimes so he doesn't wake me up!
Quiet here yesterday - ooh Mhags, I love Pavlova
PK - you have such a lot on your plate, I hope things improve for you soon and be kind to you.
Kittikins - yay for DD coming home :T
Frith - glad thngs are working out for DS
Broomstick - whit woo, sexxxxaaaaaayyyyyyy :rotfl:
For yesterday
1. Mucking about with OH in bed yesterday morning (not in THAT way, regrettably) just being stoooopid and having a laugh
2. Taking time to wash and straighten my hair - I have thick curly hair that takes ages to deal with. it always looks better straight but I usually [STRIKE]can't be ars[/STRIKE] don't have time.
3. A couple of hours in Oxford city centre - apart from OH's toddler strop when we couldn't have lunch in the place he wanted - nice just browsing with DD while OH and DS went off to buy me some birthday pressies for later this week. And they bought DS his first razor
4. Yummy meal at SIL's house. House was a tip and needs a good clean but it didn't matter as it was nice to spend time with family.
5. OH drove so I had a couple of glasses of wine and slept all the way home
Busy day ahead, tidying, laundry, packing for next weeks holiday and food shopping. Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
..... And they bought DS his first razor
Aw VJsmum your DS will be "all grown up" once he starts shaving :rotfl:
My DS (now 17yo) went through puberty at 11, when his voice broke and he started to get facial hair. Sadly people then expected him to behave like a grown up even though he was still a child. Plus razors cost a blooming fortune these days :eek:0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

mhagster, Happy (first) Christmas. Wasn't it hobbits that had two breakfasts, or was it suppers? Two Christmas dinners are the same really.
VJsmum,
B x0 -
My five for Friday and Saturday;
1. Catching up with a good friend. We hadn't seen each other in a year despite living in the same town. We agreed we need to make more effort to see each other, we really should we had so much fun.
2. Spent the day with OH's family yesterday and it was so much fun, had a really great time all laughing and joking.
3. OH cooked last night.
4. Walked past Booooots several times, really slowly admiring the display of 'offer of the week'. I didn't buy it. Massive achievement. Massive.
5. My niece and my dog, she's only one, he's a staffy. We weren't sure if he'd frighten her because he's 4 stone and a bit full on, lovely temperament though. They are a match made in heaven. She followed him round stroking him and he licked her and she laughed. She cried when we put him in the other room.Comper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -
