Morning all - supposed to be marking, but any distraction is welcome! :p

Glad your headache has gone PK and that DD is getting better, Kittikins
Broomstick - nice to have your DS jumper. My DD is a size bigger than me but has donated to me an old school hoodie that they got for a trip. It's a lovely thing to have on in winter over my jammies. It has the school badge on the front and Vickieeeeeeeeee on the back :D but it doesn't matter as i only wear it round the house. If she ever donates the other one she's got, I will be walking round with "Spock" on my back :rotfl: DD and I are also going to the hobbit (tomorrow)
Chicken - LOL chickens smelling of curry, shouldn't that be the other way round
Miss money save - glad your nan is out of hospital
Sparrer - ooh cooking a buffet all day sounds like my idea of heaven!! Seriously, nothing I like better. Glad you overcatered.

    So, yesterdays

    1. Finished one lot of marking. Another lot to continue today but at least can spend both days at home
    2. Managing to keep warm at my kitchen table with a fleece blanket over my knees and 2 candles lit. no heating on. (oh I did have other clothes on as well )
    3. Soup from the freezer for lunch
    4. THe dentist not taking any nonsense from DS when he was saying he didn't want his tooth crowned. Even he thought it was funny and I didn't tell him off when he recounted the tale to his dad ending with "she pretty much said, well your bl00dy well having it done so shut up!" :rotfl:
    5. Curry and wine for £5.40 night at the local pub with the school mums.

    Keep warm folks.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Good evening all !

Sparrer the Caterer :D- see I told you that you like to keep busy ! Hope you had time to put your feet up !

PK- glad that your 'orrible 'eadache has passed :T Sad/happy that your little animals have found a new home to try !

KK- glad that your DD is on the mend .

VJsmum- thats a good price for a "ruby " :D Lol at the pre loved hoodie - gangnam style;).

    5 for today

    1. Work ok ish - wore my A&F Hoodie in and kept it on all day with my pinstripes :rotfl:'twas drafty in the office .

    2. A new colleague is sooo lovely - I thought that she would be an old boot , but she is a gem and we get on like a house on fire .

3.Saw my "Aunt" at my Mums - she is my Mums childhood friend and my godmother - I swear that she is my Mum really , except my Dad never fancied her ... or so he said ;) We have similar tastes- a menagerie of animals, antiques and a ban on doing /thinking about housework of any form .. except hoovering the carpet maybe.

4.Macaroni cheese tonight ,I have been dreaming about this all day...

    5. Day off tomorrow - just 4 working days left next week to go, then off until 31st Dec. !

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Pleasures for today so far:

    1) My sister is better so she dropped smaller son off at his bus stop. Meant more time for me and bigger son to get organised before his bus left.

    2) Post! Smaller son's cheapy waterproof coat for kayaking came from Ebay. Christmas presents from my aunty. A form to fill in to say which school I want smaller son to go to now he has a statement.

    3) Made lots of phone calls re: smaller son's school place. There are 2 primaries that might be suitable but the one said it already has 5 pupils more than its limit due to other people getting in with statements and it has 8 on its waiting list. The second primary didn't get back to me but they were good last time I looked round. Then I spoke to the statementing man and also to smaller son's solicitor who said he had been bargaining on the phone with the Exclusions Officer to get smaller son's dubious exclusion overturned without the meeting planned on Monday...

    4) Quite a tasty tea.

    5) Went swimming with sons and my brother. There was no one else in the pool so we had a game of water polo.

    6) Carol singers have just been and gone. Nice singing but I always find it quite embarrasing. You open the door and there they are in your garden. So you stand on the step smiling and they sing... and keep singing... and I feel I am just grinning like a lunatic by the time they have gone!

    1. DD's lovely friends have made her a get well soon card, made me feel all warm inside, and one of them wants her to call her every day at 5pm!!

    2. Fun at work, going to like this place I think :)

    3. Went into a flooring place and made an appointment for the chap to come and measure up!

    4. Got home and the builder had unexpectedly turned up and put some more boards on the floor, yay - here's hoping he gets the lot done tomorrow, fingers and toes crossed!

    5. Watching a fab DVD

    6. Had a lovely meal around at DD's friend's house, her parents are lovely and both DD's chum and her little sister were very good company as well :) Delish food, great chats, lots of giggles = one happy Kittikins, would have been even better if DD could have been there *sigh*

an early hurrah it's Friday....though I still have a days work to do! Not starting till a bit later as I've been working later.

On Wednesday it was my son's graduation from high school dinner......not being from these parts we weren't too sure what to expect! But we had a very nice if a bit long /late night of speeches and having to wait between each course of food whilst speeches and presentations were made. It was a very hot day and night so rapid change of plan as to what I was to wear!

I have one very girly girl, DD2 and one not so bothered girl,DD1.
DD2 effortlessly wears make up, wears heels, loves clothes.....
DD1 would have worn her dungarees if she had been allowed! However....operation get her ready in time meant she looked gorgeous(as she always does anyway!) but she managed to 'pull' threads on her new dress twice, sit on something that left a mark on new cream dress.....but she looked stunning by the end of our efforts!
DS and OH looked very handsome in their kilts! It was quite a posh frock affair so I am glad we all went to the effort of looking nice! (me ....3 year old top from Primarche (one pound sale rail!) ,long skirt that I've had for years ...from when I was heavier & the only one I kept...was comfortable!, sandals I bought in an op shop last year for $3.50 and gorgeous beady necklace I bought in UK for a pound! ....cheap date!!

the only strange thing was not knowing any of the parents /kids there. If we had been home I would have known most of the people there....however, if we had been home there would not have been such an event!!

work continues to aggrieve! However, as I have made the decision to look for another job after my holidays I feel better and I feel better that I have told my nice co worker how I feel. Anyway ,it is indeed Friday so one more working week to go until we close up, I go to Scotland and can for get the place for 3 weeks!

Weather has been mixed, 38o yesterday then heavy rain when I was leaving work, cleared the air again. To be rainy today. The gardens need the rain. Before we lived here (2 years ago) Victoria was in drought for almost 10 years. It's hard to imagine a life with no rain! I like rain must be something to do with growing up in Scotland!!

Getting a lovely letter from our old next door neighbours with all their news and tales of their grandchildren and how big they are getting.Their girls were still at school when we moved next door 15 years ago....how time passes so quickly!

Nice chats on phone with riend and then my mum, so lovely to be able to say 'see you next week!' I am starting to get excited now! (but I have soooo much to do before then!)

Anyway....enjoy what's left of your evening and stay warm!

    Evening

Nice, cheery post Mhags. The "do" sounds great - nice including the family too.
Hope little kittikins comes home soon

    Todays

    1. Another working at home day with my itunes blaring!!
    2. Yummy curried sweet potato and squash soup for lunch
    3. More leftovers for dinner, the freezer is emptying nicely now. Will soon be able to defrost the beggar.
    4. Got a £5 off voucher for Ald! - though I did have to buy the Maily Dirror to get it.
    5. Just tried a piece of christmas cake - quality control, you understand

Day off tomorrow - though some more marking will have to be done. Mostly shopping and then we are off to Middle Earth
I wanna be in the room where it happens
