Today's agenda suddenly in smoke, but quick read before dashing out means a quick, all-woman power-zap the way of your prospective employers, pk. You personally don't need it, as we and you know from your prev. very positive i/v. f/b. Hence my strong wishes that THEY snap you up super quick:-)
ccp- sorry you feel the onset of Lurgy. Halve a few more lemons thus producing same pressing need to Use Them Up.

If you enjoyed it, it must be a pleasure. Hope so cos I'm having egg and chips for my tea! (tho when I've added up my weightwatchers points it may have to be omelette and salad)
VJsmum - it had to be you with Gangnam style

I know, right? Someone at work once said "things seem to happen to you, don't they?" :rotfl:

    Afternoon

Another one who doesn't like halloween much to DD's disgust she has never been trick or treating. We usually take this as a good excuse to go out for a family dinner or to the cinema.

Pleasures for a very busy weekend,
    1. Up early Saturday and to the butchers in the market to fill the freezer back up with meat. All good quality and reasonably priced . He did persuade me to buy some beef joints though which were not on the list but very good price:o
    2. DD had a driving experience at Mercedes Benz World which she really enjoyed but has now given her expensive taste in cars  and is very keen to start driving lessons as is 17 in a couple of weeks.
    3. Nice lunch afterwards at a local golf course that does fab food
    4. Tesco shop done later in the day and all came in at a good price
    5. Sunday lovely sunny day so washing line dried
    6. Posh afternoon tea with DD, MIL and SIL. The venue was lovely with beautiful gardens and a real trip down memory lane as I worked and lived there when I first moved from the North East. It wasn't MSE in any way but I loved it, though if go again would probably just go with DD as she acted more grown up than SIL

Hello OS pleasurers (that sounds dodgy...:rotfl:)

DundeeDoll, yes I was going to try to do Nanowrimo, but thought if I waited until November I'd probably forget my idea by then! :o:rotfl: Glad I've inspired you to do 1,000 words a day too. :)

Well after such a happy post yesterday, our neighbours decided to have their music on all night. And this morning, got some news from my doctor's receptionist about some blood test results which isn't very good, but I am waiting to hear how bad as she now has to ask the doctor a question I had about it. Why the doctor didn't ask me to go in to discuss the results I have no idea! :undecided

BUT, no one is going to rain on my parade! :p So, here's five for today:

    1) Went to town with DH and got Christmas cards for all the family, including ones for me and DH, plus some gift tags, all under my budget. Good old Card Factory! ;)

    2) Only got what we needed in town, except a Christmas jumper for me :D plus some lunch in M&S, but we expected to spend a bit more this week as DH is off.

    3) Went up to see MIL. SIL goes to see her most days, but knew she was seeing FIL today, so suggested to DH we pop in and see her. She was pleased and we all had a slice of her homemade cake. Also agreed to take something to the dump for her on the way home, so that has got rid of some rubbish for her.

    4) Just did an Ipsos survey.

    5) We'll have something out of the stores for dinner tonight, probably tuna pasta again.

Did anyone see Homeland last night? Ooo what a good episode!! :j But Downton, god, I didn't expect that. :( I was shouting the medical condition at the tv before the doctor diagnosed it!! (Won't go into more detail in case some people haven't watched it yet!)

ETA: Tealady, Warren House looks lovely! :)
  • Good evening all !

Trick or treating here is just the local youths begging .Often many days before Halloween too which pees me right off ! We turn all of the lights off , including the security lights out the front which means that they have to walk up my scary overgrown path :rotfl:

    ampersand
    - yep I agree with Sparrer . But I am a very opinionated Chicken and I know I come across as a bit blunt ,I do in real life too !!;) It is because I think our Frith deserves so much better .

OT - could you adopt me please ?? Ooh a new tractor and new hens . You will have 3 more then - so 9??

    VJsGangnam Mum ! :rotfl:

Tealady - Warren House looks fab :D

    5 for today

    1. Took my custard and white choc cookies in to work and they soon disappeared .

    2. A rainbow :)

    3. OH has hoovered and is doing something Ramsey style with the Brill- if it tastes of fish I am having some of Gangnams chips :D.

    4. Gave my neighbour some eggs .

    5. We have not booked our holiday yet and we are watching the last minute deals - might book it tonight :)

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • Chicken: Looking forward to you writing it’s all booked up, whereabouts in Spain is your friend.
CCP hope you are feeling less lurgied today.
VJsmum, purple does seem to feature one way or another most days.: :o
OT: Exciting, 3 Rescue hens, so that means 3 names rapidly.
I am leaving the bad stuff out at the mo as there is nothing good to update on at the moment:(, but there are good pleasures below:).
    1. The interview went really well, and I came out to 2 voicemails of 2 more interview requests for later this week and one Tuesday next week really glad things are moving along.
    2. Resisted the big temptation of buying food, I was really hungry and came home and made egg mayo was lovely
    3. Fantastic greeting of the animals, anyone would think I had been gone for weeks.:rotfl:
    4. We bought a load frying steak on rtc offer of a pound a week ago, and there is so much there I didn’t realise otherwise I would have split the bag before freezing it, we had a little last night, with a lot of salad, about to turn the rest into a casserole type thing ish.
    5. I just finished making the casserole and dumplings and thought hmm that’s 2 hours, I could clean / tidy etc, then thought – nahhh.:rotfl::D

Evening! Popping on to add some pleasures, so here goes:

    1. 2nd day in a row of a 25 minute Pilates session. I'm hoping to do at least 6 of these a week.
    2. Just had a hot bath and feel all glowy. :)
    3. The quiet. The only sounds are from the fridge/freezer and my fingers on the keyboard.
    4. Looks like my car is getting slightly better MPG than normal - whoo hoo
    5. Last night's tea. Cubed chicken with chopped bacon, onion and mushrooms cooked with garlic, smoked paprika ;) and a load of bbq sauce. We had it on top of sauteed potato wedges then covered with grated cheese... mmm

Just a quick visit tonight as Mr KB will be home in a mo and have to cook. Hope everyone is OK.

    KB xx

    Evening all.

Thanks for your good wishes - I think it's nothing more than a cold, but even 'just a cold' isn't the nicest of things. :( On the other hand...

    Cracking idea!

PK - glad the interview went well, and that's great news about the other interviews - one of these has got to be right for you, surely. :)
Well after such a happy post yesterday, our neighbours decided to have their music on all night.

You have my sympathy - I had a helicopter sitting on my roof in the early hours of this morning, or at least that's what it sounded like - I could just smiley-sleep027.gif. I hope the results of the blood tests are OK - what a stupid way for the GP's surgery to do things, and end up worrying you about what's probably nothing.

    1) Porridge with (slightly too much :o) brown sugar for breakfast.

    2) Made a suggestion to another department that's renowned for being awkward, and was rather pleased with the response "OK, that might work", even if it was a bit grudging!

    3) Treated myself to a nice, new, fluffy, warm duvet as it was on special offer. :money:

    4) Changed the bed so I've got nice clean sheets (and fluffy duvet!) tonight. :)

    5) Made a veggie version of my favourite courgette pasta bake, exchanging the bacon I'd usually use for red onions and some tomato pesto. It's looking promising!

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening everyone! :hello:

Agree with those people disliking "modern day" Halloween. I never celebrated as a child and as we don't know any families locally, I feel that parents should not be encouraging their children to knock on strangers' doors in the dark. Needless to say, I don't open the door and have been known to sit in the dark until there's no more knocking to be heard!

    Well, my 5 for today:

    1) Started to clear out my cupboard at school, lots of books in there to be put into my British Heart Foundation bag. Well, I haven't used them in the last 5 years, so I doubt I'll suddenly start soon!

    2) Still endeavouring to get the best deal for my home insurance. I've gone back to my current insurance company and will endeavour to get them to reduce their quote, but somehow I doubt it...

    3) Lots of school work to do. Not necessarily OS, but it at least stops me from spending too long on internet shopping sites! ;)

    4) Washing machine has been on today. Again, not OS but at least I have clean clothes...

    5) Chicken and veg stir fry using lots of left over/wilting veggies in the fridge.

    Have a good night everyone.
