    1. The baby who was staying with us slept like a proverbial and was sooo cute when she woke up, she can stay any time she likes :)

    2. DD was great with her, and I did make sure that I cuddled them both equally, didn't want DD to feel pushed out at all (she's so used to being my beloved y'see)

    3. Took DD out for swanky lunch at a lovely restaurant - she had 3 courses, I had one and a few nibbles of her pud :) Good value too

    4. Saw OH *swoon* when we popped in to give his mummy her birthday presents and card

    5. We made pizzas for dinner, yum yum, and leftover chopped veggies are going with leftover risotto from the other night for my lunch tomorrow

    Evening,

    1) Lovely lazy weekend of reading.. I have finished 4 books which has been a treat. Quite a variety of topics too. I can't remember who mentioned Montalbano on the previous page but one of the books was one of his series... "The scent of the night". Light but very enjoyable.

    2) Baked a batch of fruit scones, some muffins and reboiled some strawberry jam from the summer so now it has set.

    3) Kitchen is clean and tidy. Just have to wash up the supper dishes (chilli and rice followed by a scone and jam)

4)Listening to the radio. Its Ronnie Wood chatting with Slash from Guns n Roses and they are playing some of their favourite songs. I didn't realise that Slash had played on a Michael Jackson track which was excellent. The first MJ track that I have ever liked.

    5) Packed up some stuff to give to cherridy or to someone on Freegle... If they bother to get back to me.

my old friend from Varsity is booked in to be induced tomorrow. Looks like. Bubs is going to be a whopper! Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. So looking forward to meeting the little one (or Hippo as my friend calls her) in the next few days :)

    Sleep tight

Some for Saturday/Sunday. Difficult weekend was I have been so stressed with everything happening re: smaller son's school.

    1) Fairly tidy house.

    2) Neighbours asked me to look after their cat - have managed it OK so far!

    3) Went to OH's yesterday. :-)

    4) Enjoyed watching Casualty.

    5) Nice afternoon today - went out with OH and his sons and played football.

    6) My school friend here for tea tonight.

Looks like I won't get to see AR race as son is rehearsing and my son in law is on the wrong shift. Plus a student booked a call for that evening, oh well. No matter, having not been well I would have been a bit nervy about my tummy anyway.

    1. Grandchildren over and daughter brought my cards and pressies with her.
    2. Passing on things that they will find useful - a pair of Crocs that didn't quite fit, a pair of hiking boots that won't be worn again and were barely worn to start with, my old jewellery box that still looks good.
    3. Tummy has settled for now.
    4. Son's friend popped in to say hello. He lost his Mum recently and has come back to the UK to live, having lived abroad for several years. He had a major wobble but now seems much better. I do hope so as he is a phenomenally talented musician and a very, very nice person.
    5. Much as I love Germany - and how I love it - seeing a German team lose on penalties to a UK team (in name, anyway) was a good moment.
Sonny, hope you had a reasonably clear head, I don't have the Bishop round but have been known to have a Dog or two, plus the odd Black Sheep.
Chicken agree so much with all your Frankel post. I started clapping him as he won - don't do that often, if ever - and then Mike Cattermole said the Newbury crowd had spontaneously done the same. I was pleased he got a race as well, even if it was only for a few yards until he burned the O'Brien horse off.
Well done lovely Sir Henry for keeping him in training, massive boost to the Newbury gate which is great.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Evening all :) another busy day in the nest of the sparrer, now I know the meaning of the expression 'when did I have time to go to work?'!

Hope everyone is well or will be soon/now. Have to be up early again tomorrow so briefly -

1, Early start to the day with a visit from some friends who were passing through on their way from Norfolk to London. Cooked them a lovely breakfast. I ate my mashed banana in ff yogurt...

    2. Took DNeighbour's DD to her friends house 8 miles away as her Mum's car is poorly.

    3. Went to a brilliant lunchtime meeting, one chap has us in tears laughing. We are not a glum lot :p

    4. Picked Dneighbour's DD up and dropped her and her friend off at the leisure park 10 miles away, in the opposite direction

    5. Cleared out the daffodil bed ready for two blueberry bushes and some nice prickly ground cover, pyracantha perhaps, to keep the mogs off.

    6. Went to pick the girls up from the leisure park. Now I remember what it's like to bee a teenager's taxi :D

    6. DNeighbour's DD brought me a variety of scones she made this evening, had the cheese and black olive one for my supper

Did I say briefly? Impossible! ;)

    Stay safe, sweet dreams :)

    Good morning all!

mcculloch - I am sorry that you can't get to so A.R run . There will be other times x

PK and Ladyhawk - you both sound nice and chilled .

    5 for yesterday

1.Nice relaxing day, as OH was diving.

    2. Nice to have time to methodically prep. veg for a roast which listening to House Wife 49 on tv. I can't peel without looking.

    3. Picked some rhubarb from the garden. Leaves poisonous to hens so they couldn't "help" much to their disgust.

4.Lovely roast and crumble ( I blame VJsmum;)) of rhubarb, apple and some sorry looking strawberries. Wow I recommend adding the strawberries in it .

    5. Laughing my head off at Steptoe and Son film- infantile humour , I know (and the old man gives me the creeps)but the fact that OH doesn't find it remotely funny makes it even more funny.

    Have a good day all!
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Morning all, welcome Adam :hello:

My best brekkie is left over Chinese - the take-away, not the human (on reflection a bit of Jackie Chan wouldn't go amiss first thing).

Oh, that didn't sound right! But you know what I mean ;)

Off to do my bumps and grinds, be back later with my 5. Have a sunny day :)
