  • CCP No problimo with trifling about, just that the jelly slopped to one side, so the custard has levelled it off. I maybe out of touch making them, as current Mrs Sonny does not like trifle, so more the more for me. Just that I know I will waste some, but the cat will get his chops in as well.

Just catching up with cricket, so having crumpet, and marmite with cocoa. Sonny will give his wobbleade a miss till Saturday I thinks, by then, would be ready to kill a badger or two, in the name of research of course.

Popped down a purple of threads earlier, for blimey me gals, don't you just get them down there. Had to laugh at the guy who's neighbour is building an extension. Lucky I do not live next to him, cos I am thinking big prickly hedge. But came back here instead.

Night all, Sonny needs his sleep.

    1. NSD

    2. The sunshine

    3. Our pepper seeds have finally sprouted, we thought they were dead, but no, they were just sleepy!

    4. Lovely cuddles and fun with DD this morning

    5. The sunshine :)

    6. Good books at the library

    7. A friend and I took our children to the park after school and I was organised and brought along fruit and biscuits so we weren't tempted to go to the village shop :)

    8. Feeling really happy, despite having a horrible cold and my eyes are streaming (or maybe it's hayfever for the first time?).

    9. Made very frugal tuna pasta for tea....half a tin each of tuna and tomatoes and it was just as scrummy as usual, and I can do something else with them during the week.

Dilemma time - do I let DD stay up late to watch Chelsea Flower Show on Beeb2? She seems quite entranced by it, but it is past bedtime....and we can't watch iplayer as my laptop thinks its in the US, so it doesn't work for us, grrr. Oh s*d it, it's nice and calming.....

    Hello everyone,

Got a bit of a headache tonight... But I guess that's what happens when you start work at 6.30am and finish 13 hours later!

    1) Worked from home this morning as I was tucked up in my duvet and our office has been freezing for the past few weeks. Got loads done though, not like my usual working from home!

    2) Attended an event on a boat on the Thames. It was nice enough - got speaking to an interesting farmer who is rearing rose veal. Really interesting. Look out for the programme on channel 4 at the end of the month.

    3) Saw the dishy guy at work who you may recall from such adventures such as "kiss on the banks of the thames" and "friday drinks are Ladyhawk Day". He is a confused bunny. I really need to sort this out with him before he and the rest of his project team move onto site in 2 weeks... And I never see him again.

    4) Having a funny conversation with my friend H on FB. He has a way with words with really appeals to my sense of humour.

    5) Easy chilli leftovers for supper

    6) NSD - about the 4th in 5 days.

No baby news yet. Hope everything is ok.

And by the way - you lot disgust me!! ;) the only acceptable cold brekkie is pizza. Everything is just so very wrong!

    Night

    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

1.Did the tip run a pleasure to see it gone.;)

2.Listed a car of mine for free on an enthusiasts forum, I’ve had it for 10 years and love it to pieces but it’s now just sitting un road worthy and we don’t have the space anymore, a pleasure to make the decision, I hope someone will give “her” a good home.

    3. Wow there have been some conversations going on here today, I hate being the bad person, more to the point I am fed up with even cheap things being out of reach at the moment. Our car was inherited from my dad it’s 27 year old volvo240 and it has served us well, but now has a long list of expensive problems when the car itself insurance value is minimal, I can’t justify it, so we have been looking at cars, and the one that looked loved and perfect OH fell in love with was just to far out of reach it would stretch us too far as we would also need to put a towbar and insure it, I fell even more in love with the other half :o when instead of it turning into a potential money row, it was ah well I reckon there must be a reason we aren’t meant to have that one and do get whatever we afford. :T It is disheartening though as we trawl and the price bracket it literally tiny when you see what it goes up to! Wish us luck, we are off to look at 2 oldies with tow bars included tomorrow.

    4. We caved this evening to late night shopping we were both starving and whilst my cooking with not a lot efforts were I quote “valiant”, we were in need of grub, as we went late we did the lucky 10p shop it was fantastic, though I was caught out by a jalapeno salad I choked for dinner tonight:o

    5. Recording the world is not enough to watch in a mo:)

I hardly dare come in after my faux pas this morning, a definite case of foot in mouth (but Jackie Chan is nice anyway :p)

    1. Exercise class this morning with a talk about an interesting local organisation sponsored by the British Lung Foundation. More free help from the NHS :)

    2. Had lunch with DD then we went to join the gym. It looks scary!!!! They have a half price joining fee at the moment so we went just at the right time :D. Have to go back tomorrow for the official induction with our personal trainer. I mentioned to DD that a lot of people use their gym showers to save money at home, she said it wouldn't be cost effective because they have to use their petrol to get there. She just hasn't got it, has she?

    3. Looked for some 'proper' clothes but couldn't find anything suitable for a lady of certain age so will wear the stretchy trousers and cotton top I wear to my class, and save my money

    4. Made two batches of flapjacks using a microwave recipe, one apricot and sultana, the other I used a banana which was getting very soft. A 'tiny' taste proved both were successful so will take them for DGD's lunch box tomorrow

    5. Finished the ironing while the fj's were cooling

    Sweet dreams :)
  • Morning all

Current Mrs Sonny has attempted crossword again this morning. It is that time of day over toast, when she completely gets the answer so wrong, you just have to get the napkin and launch it at her. I know girls, not the done thing, but honestly, I sometimes cannot get so much laughter. I mean, S. American mountain range, 5. What did she put?

    ROCKY

Good job I did lob sided trifle yesterday, if I do not eat it, Mrs Sonny does not like it, I guess there will be a bit of a mess for the cat to clean up.

Right, apart from that starter, it is off to doctor this morn. I will check in later.

Please note, no one was injured during the course of breakfast, Mrs Sonny does see the funny side of it and after getting a silver card, I am used to it, I should express, tat if she thinks the trifle is in need of leaving the bowl, there will be ...

    :rotfl:

    That has made my morning.

A sunny day and a load of runner bean plants vs a pile of marking - which will win?

    For yesterday

    1. My Montreal conference paper has been accepted and the boss says I can go! :j:j
    2. Felt very "otherwordly" yesterday - tired, I guess, from my travels. Still managed to clean bathrooms, change beds, do 3 loads of washing, clean kitchen and
    3. Go out for lunch with friend - one of friends I had spent all weekend with! :o Still a girl's got to eat
    4. DD's biology GCSE that she was worried about went well
    5. Lovely group on facebook organising a reunion for our middle school to be held at the school. It is about to be knocked down so am thrilled to get a chance to visit once more. Also some are in touch with an absolutely inspirational teacher there who I have never forgotten. Would be lovely if she could come.

Have a wonderful warm sunny day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
